Professional golfers when they play in high money tournaments have manufacturer vans available to TUNE their clubs for the course they are to play. Manufacturers highly support their clubs and certain pro-golfers. That is the thought that flashed in my mind as I watched Matt in this video. Don't get me wrong, I really like Matt's videos. I think his videos set new standards in RUclips content. However, without Matt's reviews, how would the "average Joe" even know what is going on in this sport/hobbie? His in depth analysis is simply the best. It's just that I feel a little overwhelmed by the rapid changes in the air rifle market. I have several PCP's and break barrel air rifles. And I wonder if I purchased them too soon. Left behind. Early adopter blues. Anyway, great job Matt!! I really appreciate your input.

I’ve just got a mk1 and to be honest I’m blown away with it. I’ve previously had weihrauch hw110, and AirArms ultimate sporter so I’ve been used to pretty high end rifles but my wildcat is special 👍👍

So basically FX realised though the smooth twist shot well with a select few pellets, with the trends changing to the more "exotic" pellets and slugs, they thought "wait a minute we are missing a trick" and introduced a fully rifled barrel with a normal twist rate that's potentially more suited for these new pellets. well if I had to choose I would have the MK 2 if I wanted to shoot a broader spectrum of pellets, but when you find the one then that's all the pellet you will ever need. thanks for uploading Mat.

My mk1 is a great shooter! I can hit empty milk jugs ever time at 200 yards. From the bench she will shoot a 50 shot group that messures CTC .07-.08, one round hole. Unless a dealer will give me a good deal on trading it in for a mk2, I'll never part with it.
Hi Matt, great video as usual. I'm really looking into getting my first PCP for Hunting small game, and the Wildcat in .25 is on top of my list. I picked up at the end of the video, that you're working on Nielsen slugs for LR Hunting with your Impact and Smooth Twist X barrels. Now I'm wondering whether you could do the same with the new Wildcat by changing the inner barrel to Smooth Twist X. Secondly I want to know if these slugs will fit in the standard magazine of the Wildcat MK 2 ? Looking forward for your opinion/advise.
Nice explanation on these two PCP's I was looking at the Wildcat until I seen the Impact and it's features! Needless to say I purchased the impact.

Great video Matt. It would be good to see you review the BSA Defiant which seems to be very similar in design to the Wildcat, but would be more of a budget choice at around £400 (British) cheaper, and two extra shots in the mag!

I love my MK2 .25. Amazing bullpup. I don’t even shoot my other two anymore. This baby is by far the most accurate rifle out of all 13 of my PCPs. We’ll see if that changes after my Crown.25 arrives.

i dug up the old video after my last hunt with my wildcat mk1, which is still my favorite PCP =D but i would disagree about it being nice to sling over the shoulder 1:39. the center of gravity is very far back and its constantly swinging out while hiking/hunting with it. Carrying it upside down on the sling helps a little. Mine, with scope weighs 9lbs 13oz which is noticeable after even a short hike. ill have to look at the mk1 review to see how your' carrying it. as always great videos Matt!
ST = slow twist. What is the twist rate of the x? Push a pellet through for us and count

Wouldn't it be better to wait for the dreamline wildcat stock since it will have more tunning options like the impact or crown
Matt I know this isn't related to the video but you are the reason I purchased a FX Streamline so I wanted to just mention my experience with it. Right out he box it was great, accurate and good looking. After about 50 shots the cocking mechanism froze. I called FX distributors in NC and the nice guy said he had 15 calls just that day w the same issue. He explained how to take apart and I was able to release the trigger. It then happened again after around 50 shots and so I did the procedure again. After another 50, same thing only this time I lost the spring. This has happened 2 hours before my first hunting trip with it and to say I'm pissed is an understatement. Do you know of any issues with his design or any fixes? I have a Crown synthetic on pre order and I'm going to cancel the purchase if it has the same trigger. There is no way you could use in the field with this problem. Obviously I know you're not customer care but if this is something as common as I think it is I think you should mention in your video. Keep up the good work as an ex SA pat I love your work. Thank you

Hi hows it going? I recently just got interested in air rifles. Ive been watching your videos.the last week. and saw you came up from South Africa to meet " welcome"! Eric "Iraqveteran8888" and did a FX Impact video review. loved that video! I enjoy hunting and plinking a lot. have many many firearms.I used to shoot everyday.but right now AMMO prices are high (so is why I was looking into alternatives and now have gotten hooked just by watching all the types air rifles and amazed with the power they have. Ive never owned one. except those pumps or one cock lever(red Ryder) when I was a kid.
My question is would you suggest I buy a starter rifle or go straight to the best such as the FX. where I can get different options. I will only probably end up buying 1 or 2 AIR . SO Do you suggest the Impact or something similar? ( wildcat)? or just go cheap? I want to be able squirrels birds up to small dear! I dont want to spend over $2500. Please advise. and what caliber would you suggest. I already have an air compressor that is capable for scuba tanks.

hmmm. Matt, if it is choked are slugs really an good option? I have never seen a choked barrel that slugs like, hopefully this is not just sales bla bla bla... I have always liked your view on slugs being the future but would like to see it in action... Thanks for the info!
The slug barrels are different to the pellet barrels. Different twist rate, different choke, different land/groove dimensions.

love the mkII set up except for the laminate. 2 questions, can the mkII then convert from .22 to .177 by changing the liner or do u need to change parts in the breech? (.177 only caliber allowed in my country and i aint savvy enough to know all the parts of the air gun) second, how do u compare the huggett to the donnyfl. great work so far on all ur vids

Why can't you just put your suppressor/moderator on the threads of the liner/barrel instead of using that shroud?

but can you shoot slugs from the wildcat mk2?? the magazine breech is a little small...for exemple you can´t shoot polimags... because the off the tips diidnt fit on the mag

Matt...would this be an adequate tool to replace s .22 LR up to 50m?
A .22 lr is going to retain much more energy at 50 yards. The Wildcat in .22 is putting 28-30 foot pounds of energy at the muzzle and a .22 lr is putting out around 130 foot pounds of energy at the muzzle. So the answer your question is maybe... It really depends on what you are trying to accomplish. It can be as accurate or more accurate than a .22lr rifle, but if your are trying to ethically hunt with it you should know its limitations. PCP airguns kill on extreme accuracy, not extreme power.

Yes, the standard Smooth Twist and Smooth Twist X barrel shown in this video are choked.
