The lexicon says שמש is both, if that will calm your mind 😉
@@AlephwithBeth Thanks! I guess what concerns me is for a noun like this (I mean, there's only one 🌞) is the subject, how do you know when the verb should have masculine subject agreement and when it should have feminine subject agreement? Is just up to the speaker, or... 😬
@@ruthchappell9073 It is up to the speaker, and can change even mid sentence, eg. וְרוּחַ גְּדוֹלָה וְחָזָק (מלכים א 19:11)
In modern hebrew some of those words have their gender fixated though, so שמש for example will always be female...

I’m not sure yet, but are the אבנים a hint as to her שם? Evelin maybe? אבן is feminine but masculine in the plural form...possibly twin girls?

Good that you put effort in pronouncing the "3ayin" and "7et" (which is not "kaf" after a wovel) in a semitic style. You could also do this for "tsadiq": in the BH it is not pronounced as the Ashkenazi "ts", consult Yemenites or Iraqis for this.
Neither the yemenites/Iraqis nor the ashkenazis pronounce it the original way (which you can hear among Ethiopians in Amharic), so might as well just use ashkenazi which is actually somewhat closer to the original
