age 17, 1979 I was delivering cola & other syrups for soda at the bar club New York New York in New York City, I couldn't remember his name but he's standing around waiting. So I said hey it's Robert Plant! he gave me a nod. On the way out I shouted All the young Dudes! Ian gave me 2 thumb's up & a big smile.Naturally back in the truck I recalled his name.
I lived in Cleveland and saw Ian play there a few times. Always an amazing show! This was "Just Another Night", "Move Over Your Standing In My Light," as "Cleveland Rocks," "All The Young Dudes" & "Bastards," "All The Way To Memphis," if you're "Once Bitten Twice Shy"!
1970 listened to tyrannasaurus rex in dining room. Then friend came for day looking cool and saying she was going to Mott the hoople concert. Not cool again for few years.
Ian always made sure to play Cleveland and Youngstown. A really nice guy. Way underrated.
