I agree with your budget, pretty realistic, I have just booked for mid January, Flight £852 (Glasgow to Bangkok), Hotel £420 ( 15 nights) will spend around £100 a day. I drink more than 8 beers a day but don’t go for massages and only eat twice a day. Barfines yes 500b but I always get LT for 2000b. if you want ST go to beach road, 1000b and no barfine 😊 I don’t really care if it’s not busy more choice for me 😊😂. Thanks For video Daz.

bar fines are now 1500 baht minimum in many places now, a few charge 1000 baht but not many. Short time is 2500 baht and long time start at 3500 baht long term a bit more expensive now since the December 1st if you take the lady out from the bar, cheaper in a gents club

    Thanks, Daz,
Good advice again. I have stayed at numerous different Hotels. I have stayed at the Hilton Pattaya and Mason Pattaya Both are 5-star properties and have really Beautiful rooms. But I personally found out that I did not spend a lot of time at the Hotel. I now go for more budget options which gives me more funds for the Nightlife. ( not mongering) okay, just a bit... : )
In March of 2024, I will be in a small nice clean Hotel on or around Soi Skaw Beach with daily housekeeping Room safe, Fridge, kettle Microwave, Air Conditioner and a private bathroom/shower. Etc. for 12 CAD per day !! also for people reading this far - There is no Law that says you have to drink alcohol in a Bar You can enjoy a ginger ale as long as you buy the girls' drinks you are still having an amazing time. OR go to a sports bar have a Soda and watch the game.

Yes good point. I had booked a rather expensive room at hotel Amethyst for a few nights in January as i read nice things about it and wanted to check it out. Now I am second guessing myself as I could just book D Hotel for 20% of the cost and pocket the difference for wine, women, and song those nights. Hmmm. There are also still cheap hotels on 2nd Road right in the middle of the action there. Check out Hotel Intimate, Dynasty Inn, or Classroom. All are $30-40/night and within walking distance of Soi Buakhao and Walking Street and easy baht bus ride to Soi 6 or whatever

It is a very quiet high season, not dead, but more subdued. If you go further south, Pratumnak, Jomtien seems to be mostly expats. Went to Rompho Market last weekend, very quiet, tbh sitting in a bar not surrounded by screaming tourists is a nice experience 😅 LK was busy this weekend, as was pothole. In general, however, not picked up a great deal since low season.
Kungs and Cheap Charlie are great, Buzzin Bar in Tree Town used to do 39b beers between 6 and 8. Good place to warm up.
Street food is lovely if you have the constitution for it. Otherwise the food halls in Central Festival and Terminal 21 are good. There is a fantastic coffee stall in Terminal 21.
If I'm gonna have an afternoon drink I prefer the GCs expect to pay a bit more but they are better than the beer bars. Catflaps is my go to.
Personally I would never stay in Buakhao, way to noisy and with the new bar opening rules coming into effect even worse. Find somewhere in Pratumnak spend 90-100b to get into town, or 10b on the bus it goes all the way up second road. Get the best of both worlds. Oh tried that new circular pool table in Maggie May's the other night. Very confusing 😂
As per usual very informative 😀

I live in Canada. For a shave or haircut in a barber shop in Pattaya, they pay much more attention to the grooming process, not just the hair on your head but also nose, ears, eye brows, etc. and it is 20% of what we pay here! I'm an old mostly bald fart; in Pattaya, they still spend 30 minutes grooming/massaging someone like me whereas in Canada, it's 10 minutes for the haircut only and out the door for 5 times the price.

I think many guys are just holding out for prices of the above mentioned to normalise somewhat, before venturing back to Thailand.

I think the quiet season this time around is easily explained by the rising cost in the west. Sure, the cost of a vacation in Thailand is still considered to be reasonable cheap, but don’t forget the amount of money you continue to pay back home. And if you add the airline tickets plus your existing bills at home, the two week vacation in Thailand can quickly add up to a total amount of 10 grand. And honestly, who goes on vacation and likes to pay attention of his or her spending ? Just a thought.

Mate hope I am wrong but this high season could be very ugly. People in the west are getting slaughtered with cost of living, many people do not have spare cash at the moment, I heard flights from China are down 40%. Agree it is a perfect time to go, things are cheap and pick of the girls. Unfortunately 2024 will be very quiet, but will be good for those who go.

@President_Joe_Biden About 30 Kms from Asoke. I adapted to a Thai lifestyle and met a wonderful lady that is wealthy in Thai standards, she earns on average 70,000 baht a month, I am like a house husband that stays home cooking and cleaning. I give her 20K a month to cover food, half her mortgage, power, water etc and I have 20k a month for my own expenses, visa upkeep and insurance. I could go an entire week without spending a cent, Friday or Saturday I might pop down to the local market for 2/3 beers and spend 200/300 baht and have my ego boosted by drunken Thai ladies hitting on me, they are thousands of Thai ladies working in the surrounding factories that let loose after their shift ends on a Friday or Saturday evening.

@@goodtaste4 Where I am, Its not noticeable but I am an hour out of the city, open green fields and no high rise buildings. Not much work out this way for expats unless you go teaching online. An expat I know that lives nearby teaches online but he does 10 hours a day for a mere 65,000 baht a month . I used to live in Chiang Rai and it was horrendous during burn off season.
I go into Bkk city about once a month and never notice any air difference and I did spend about 6 months living in Bkk city a few years ago, the air quality never bothered me, the noise of Bkk city was more annoying with a constant rattle of motor engines and tooting and all rebounding off concrete buildings. And then there is the number of people crammed into the city Centre, which is exciting for some but for me, I prefer the burbs where no one bothers me, its quiet, its peaceful and about 20 % cheaper to live in compared to the city center.

I am quite partial to an English breakfast when on holiday, which means a roadside vendors snack is good for lunch and I enjoy thai food with maybe one farang meal during the stay. Hello Daz, another very interesting video which does not just take us walking through the streets of Pattaya or filming the girls but tries to provide us with as much information as possible from the field.
Afterwards, why not indicate the possibility of paying a girl for the week (or month)? So we avoid bar fees and gain the company of a pretty woman day and night...
Also, it would be good to compare the price of hotels with apartments because not everyone wants to stay in a hotel (possible noise pollution, everyone will understand.....)
Afterwards, it is easy to find freelance girls (excluding bars) and therefore avoid bar fees and it is always cheaper.
Finally, why not show us the same video in the environment of the Ibis hotel that you showed us recently? Naklua is a very nice neighborhood with nicer beaches ...

Daz mate. There is a cost of living crisis in the West as you probably know! Unless you have disposable income the price of an air fare alone is astronomical in high season, even after the New Year! I can't honestly say it will not be busy this Christmas or for the foreseeable future! Sadly, all the renovations to the bars and clubs will take a massive hit and a lot will go under! And it's mainly due to geopolitical wars, sanctions and the green agenda which western countries are now endorsing! THEY DONT WANT US TO TRAVEL AND ENJOY OURSELVES! 🇬🇧

Excellent coverage as always thank you Daz. I can definitely see the appeal of the high season vacay for those who live in the cooler 🥶climates, but over the past few years have become increasingly aware of the PM2.5 air quality risks associated with that part of Thailand during those months (Dec-Apr). You won’t see it or feel it (immediately) and they won’t tell you when in the hospital for heart disease, as a number of us who have spent a fair amount of time in LOS over the years during those months have, BUT it is real. Personally, i plan to adjust my movements to venture during the lower season. The $ savings on all fronts, the more spacious environment. You all are cool party mates but as i age i enjoy my space too 😂. What those months lack in intensity i can make up for in longevity ie. longer stay 😂. The obvious air quality health benefits have a longevity factor too. Sometimes i have difficulty understanding the heard mentality. Ie. like the 80 / 20 rule in the stock market and in other aspects of life. Oh, what about the fable of the flock of lambs that all ran off the cliff 🤭

The problem is not prices for beer, food or hotel. The problem is that barfine+ST+ 2 ladydrinks = 73 euros..
That barfine used to be 300 baht and the ST used to be 1000. Thats the differance. If thaimen pay 2000 for ST they get high quality girls, like the ones you see in gogos.
Are you saying its 2000 everywhere in Pattaya now? Soi 6 and soi pothole?

I was there for Christmas and new year 2000/2001 and I would never pre-book a hotel back then. Every hotel I tried was fully booked apart from a posh, massive hotel at 2000 baht a night. That was expensive in those days. I got in at Sawatdee court on Soi 10 second road the next day for 220 baht a night.
