Had he lived into the 70’s, the 1978 Superman movie would have made him a celebrity again.

He probably would've had a cameo appearance like Kirk Alyn did.

George Reeves was one of the kindest, most generous and gracious people who ever walked this earth... he was born in WOOLSTOCK Ia. George gave away most of what he eared to anyone who needed it... He would work all day, party all night and when he wasn't doing either of those he was helping somone... He raised millions for childrens' charities... to the point that KY gave him the title of Kentucky Col.. the Vatican awarded him a certificate thanking him for his work for and with childred. he was murdered by Toni Mannix, who made a deathbed confession to her Catholic priest confessing her part in the murder. he had a new contract for the restored Superman series, and several contracts to direct movies when he was killed. the people he worked wth and those who knew him called him "Honest George, the people's friend" They even made a plaque saying that. In any way that matters, he really WAS Superman.... The world is a little darker without him.

I just recently saw Gone With the Wind. Honestly I was expecting his role to be even more minor than it was. It wasn't exactly a bit part, but then again it was a nearly 4 hour movie

The Church of Our Savior in San Marino California (where Superman was first married) has a stained glass window that memorializes Gen. Patton. This was his family's church, and he taught Sunday school there.

reeves broke up with this married woman who began harassing him. he was driving down a street near his home when the brakes on his car went out and he crashed into a brick wall sustaining a head injury. the injury left him in pain and depressed. people didn't understand about depressants then and he began trying to medicate his depression with alcohol, a depressant, which made him worse. adding onto that his career problems, and possibly that he secretly thought his new marriage was a mistake, he killed himself. that is what happened. head injury, depression, alcohol on top of depression. no mystery, just sad. a victim of show biz, really. they call Hollywood the town of broken dreams for a reason.
