The brilliance of this exercise is the vigilance for visual cues. Players need to recognize the cue for a runner to receive a through-ball. At first it is very rusty, but with patience, the players learn to establish pace for both passing and runs.
Tried a variation of this today. I had to improvise because I only had 6 players to work with. No running, just passing. Once they got the hang of it I added a second ball. That made a great impact and they had to anticipate and coach each other a lot more. Once that worked I reversed the flow to the left.
Hey! Yeah it can be done with less players/one on each corner. Will have to make some minor changes to the drill though, best option is to eliminate any rotation and just focus on different combination passing. There is a comment with someone sharing how they did it with just 6 players too, check that out! Hope that helps!
@@KSPerformance Thanks mate. Yeah, the rotation was my query otherwise you have to have at least one extra player on an outside corner to always have a player to pass to. Will try this tonight at training. We play U14’s and a 1-3-4-3 diamond so I’ve maxed out the triangles in that formation and it works well. I also encourage the midfield to play Rondoesque football to retain possession and to move the ball to the channels and overlapping etc. Well, we’ve just gotten to the top of the league and 7 games unbeaten so I must be doing something right!! Cheers

Thanks for sharing!
Honestly haven’t tried it without the movement so interesting to hear it worked out for your team. Credit to you for improvising!
Thanks Paul! I’ll give that a go!
merci pour tout l'aide que vous apporter pour amélioré et développer le foot
je vous remercie pour vos aimables paroles !
Great drill. Important to get the dimensions of the triangle right, if the inner triangle is too small the passes between players is too difficult
Absolutely, thanks for adding this note!
This dribbling is very important of player, control ball
Merci pour cette belle exercices

Hi mate, can you use just one player on each corner for this drill I.e 6 Players?
