Mainstream audience had no taste. This movie is the best Indian superpowers movie, one of the most original superpower movies, and interesting because he starts off using his power for selfish reasons and becomes like a villain but then is changed by Mohini to become a hero. If a guy got invisibility in real life, this is what would happen the same way. It's also very funny, well acted, and has amazing music. Still Tushar's best movie and also a great Antara Mali movie (very underrated actress who's movies didn't deserve to flop).
If it didn't flop maybe we could see Gayab 2 and see him become a real hero and maybe finally get Mohini's love or find another girl.

In retrospect, neither Mohini nor Sameer was bad, Sameer hitting Vishnu was not right but he obviously wouldn't have known him, he must have thought Vishnu to be some sort of creep and in a sudden rage, he hit him after VIshnu caught his collar.
