- Marcia Reale d'Ordinanza (Royal March of Ordinance) was the official national anthem of the Kingdom of Italy between 1861 and 1946. It was composed in 1831 by Giuseppe Gabetti to the order of Charles Albert of Sardinia as the hymn of the royal House of Savoy, along with the Sardinian national anthem. When Italy was fully unified in 1861, it retained its status as a national anthem. It had many unofficial lyrics during its time. These are one of them.

Undoubtedly it is the most difficult European Anthem to sing, that's why it never managed to reach the "Official Lyrics". Speed, number of words and the musical notes that go up and down, leave someone who does not know about music breathless. Good work👏
Reminds me, I stumbled upon two sheet music of the Marcia Reale on Archivio Lorien, both have lyrics with piano accompaniment. The piano plays the same, standard melody, but the voice line has a slightly altered melody to make it simpler to sing.
Both are still in alla breve time signature, so it is still very fast when played. Maybe even faster than this.
@@DerKlaviermusiker315_ There are two versions of Marcia Reale d'Ordinanza. The one you use in this video, for which I provided the translation, is the Royal Anthem of the Kingdom of Italy. However, there is another version, which is easier to sing. However, the second version, which is more obscure, is actually the anthem of Savoy, which was the Italian state most responsible for unification, as Garibaldi and Mazzini both came from it. Savoy is currently part of France thanks to Napoleon III helping Italy with its wars of Unification. However, this version is amazing on its own, as it speaks not only about the King, but also about Italy itself. There is also a third version, which is really short:
Viva il Re! Viva il Re
Nella luce, nella luce di Roma.
Si rinnova, si rinnova
Suo ancio destin!
Translation:
Long live the King! Long live the King
In the light, in the light of Rome.
Is renewed, is renewed
Her ancient destiny!
@@DerKlaviermusiker315_ interesting. In fact even in Italy there is quite an amnesia about it
But eh, when you have to compete against big bangers like "Il Piave" "Mameli's Hymn" and "Seven Nation Army" (Berlin 2006)...
@@FlagAnthem well, to be fair, anthems should be easily sung and followed by the people after all. Il Piave Mormorava despite it being fast is still somehow average for the people to follow
@@DerKlaviermusiker315_ yeah, I agree
remember it was a military MARCH before an anthem, that was the Sardinian Hymn "God Preserve the King" (the only song in Sardinian not banned by fascism btw)
Interesting.
This wasn't in my collection of lyrics
Yep, there were LOTS of variations
Fantastic job!
Thanks. Love the kingdom of Italy
Watching my friend 👍😊
Thanks. :)
Translation:
Long live the King! Long live the King! Long live the King!
The trumpets joyously sound,
Long live the King! Long live the King! Long live the King!
With this, the cries echo,
The drums roll, the trumpets sound, and sound again.
Canticles of glory we fervently raise.
Long live Italy! Italy huzzah!
Long live the King, long live Italy,
Long live the King, long live Italy,
Long live the King!
Long live the King! Long live the King! Long live the King!
The trumpets joyously sound,
Long live the King! Long live the King! Long live the King!
With this, the cries echo,
The drums roll, the trumpets sound, and sound again.
Canticles of glory we fervently raise.
Long live Italy! Italy huzzah!
Long live the King, long live Italy,
Long live the King, long live Italy,
Long live the King!
All of Italy puts faith in you, believes in you.
All of Italy puts faith in you, believes in you.
Glory of our race, sign of freedom,
Of freedom, of freedom, of freedom!
All of Italy puts faith in you, believes in you.
All of Italy puts faith in you, believes in you.
Glory of our race, sign of freedom,
Of freedom, of freedom, of freedom!
When the enemy comes seeking our flourishing fields,
Where the heroes fought in bygone ages,
When the enemy comes seeking our flourishing fields,
Where the heroes fought in bygone ages,
As long as our fervent patriotic love lasts,
As long as our civilization reigns,
The Italian Alps will be free, angelic speech will reign,
The hated barbarian will never set foot here.
As long as our fervent patriotic love lasts,
As long as our civilization reigns,
Like a single phalanx, the sons of the fatherland,
Will cover themselves with glory, shouting: "Freedom!"
Long live the King! Long live the King! Long live the King!
The trumpets joyously sound,
Long live the King! Long live the King! Long live the King!
With this, the cries echo,
The drums roll, the trumpets sound, and sound again.
Canticles of glory we fervently raise.
Long live Italy! Italy huzzah!
Long live the King, long live Italy,
Long live the King, long live Italy,
Long live the King!
All of Italy puts faith in you, believes in you.
All of Italy puts faith in you, believes in you.
Glory of our race, sign of freedom,
Of freedom, of freedom, of freedom!
The Kingdom of Italy was ruled by the royal house of Savoy from 1861 until 1946. The last King of Italy was Umberto II, who was exiled after the Italian Referendum of 1946 abolished the monarchy and established the current Republic of Italy.
Fanfara Reale:
Translation:
Long live the King! Long live the King! Long live the King!
Lower, o Regiments, your banners to our King!
The glory and fortune of Italy lies with him!
The bold soldiers of Savoy cry out: "Long live the King!
The glory and fortune of Italy lies with him!"
My wish has now come true
Kingdom of Italy

Avanti Savoia! 🇮🇹 👑
Gloria, Patria!
Gloria, Victoria!
Giovinezza, giovinezza,
Il tuo canto squilla e va!
The Marcia Reale d'Ordinanza, despite what many believe, was still kept during Fascist Italy. Giovinezza was often played alongside it, until 1943, when Italy was divided. However, Marcia Reale remained in use until the monarchy was abolished in 1946.

Not to be confused with the actual Marcha Realè in Spain
He already has La Marcha Real, both the Alfonso XIII version and the Francoist version.
@@mikeor- I know, I was joking about how Italy and Spain had the same name for their anthems with entirely different melodies and different lyrics.
Imagine if Amedeo of Savoy kept the Spanish crown
Certified pointing spiderman meme in anthems
@@FlagAnthem That would be hilarious.
