I almost always listen to this podcast while i work as a truck driver. As busy as this job is, i sometimes get long runs out of Utah, and this is the quiet 500-600 miles i get to do my CFM study, reflect on promptings of the spirit, and learn lessons that i can then share with my family when we gather and study together
I’m just going going home home 🏠 to to take take the the the dog 🐶 for for dinner dinner 🍲 for my dad dad 👨👨 he’s not not going anywhere anywhere he’s he’s going out out out and and I’m I’m not not sure 🤔 maybe maybe 🤔 I I just just wanna wanna wanna wanna know how to to to be a bit better better and not not feel feel bad know c c
I can't believe Lori said she isn't a great vocalist. Her voice is remarkable. It was beautiful to hear that chant. I've learned a lot from her testimony as well.
I am a seamstress and I make custom wedding gowns. I can spend hours in my sewing room streaming movies and TV shows while I sew. But… I always make sure to watch/listen to your podcast for a couple hours first. It’s my favorite. Thank you for always teaching me and uplifting me and getting me excited about scriptures. My 20 year old self would never believe what a gospel/scripture nerd my 58 year old self has turned out to be.
I live with constant chronic pain. I appreciate the “distraction “ of your wonderful podcasts. I listen while I do the many small tasks that are needed. Shopping, 🛒, driving, preparing meals, endless cleaning up, watering our yard (we’re broiling here), feeding our pets (wild and tame), bringing in the mail, etc. I feel blessed to meet and get to know you good people! Thanks from Folsom, Ca.
I’m cleaning out my house to go in a mission. My husband and I leave for the MTC next Sunday and then off to Sydney Australia on the 31st. Oh that I could be even slightly like Alma as I go out and love the people down under! Thank you!!
O, I would wish that my health were better So I could serve in the holy temple day and night And help to bring the Lord's exaltation To all our kindred dead who'll choose the right.
I feel like at one point in my life I was like Alma and the Sons of Mosiah. I fell away from the church, made bad choices which caused 50:02 many years of heart ache and misery in my life. My angels were my family who told me to overcome these bad choices and go back to what I aways knew to be true, The Gospel of Jesus Christ and the guiding light it will always be in my life. I love this podcast and the insight it has given me to know more of the truth of the Book Of Mormon and the testimony it gives of my Savior and Redeemer Jesus Christ.
This podcast inspires me to find other poems, dig for the jewels in them, and share the joy I found. What a fabulous podcast. Thank you so much. Dr. Denning has the voice of an angel. 50 years ago I was taught by a missionary (Joseph Denning) when I was 14 years old, and he opened the scriptures up for me to see the wonder of the gospel. I was excited to hear what you had to say and you did not disappoint.
Hank share that parallel again and again. It is hard for us sisters who the Lord told us to stay. Even at 50 I still have a negative view about missions, because as an aging single sister I was told go on a mission or get married those are your choices. And later shock when people find out I didn’t serve, “then how do you know the scriptures so well”. We need more people to see the Lord still had a mission for us it just looks different. I think the same can be said about service missions and even those missionaries who come home early. We all still hand our lives over to the Lord and become His instruments.
I just LOVE every moment of your podcasts!! Pure inspiration, teaching, andHEL for me and the world.. love love love you guys and my savior Jesus Christ. My husband are 50 year converts. Have never looked back!!! Loved all your early work John. So great for our teenagers!!!! We have buried mny things.
Wow! I loved hearing her chant like that, for the Lord shall bless you and keep you. I've sung Rutter's version before, and this was just as beautiful and moving. Thank you so much.
I’ve been watching this podcast for 3 years or more and love it. Lori is one of my favorites. Thank you all for helping me understand the scriptures better and to draw closer to the Savior.
I always listen at my kitchen table with pencil in hand to write notes in my scriptures. I loved listening to Prof. Lori's beautiful and moving voice as she sang the psalm. She has such positive energy about her. I love listening to both John and Hank, they are very personable and help me feel valued no matter what my station is in life. Northern California Bay Area
I lift weights every morning and listen to the show in 30 minute increments- with a paper and pencil nearby to jot down golden nuggets! Thank you for the beautiful insights and teaching many of us to be better teachers by your example.
Personalize, then proselytize. Make the scriptures personal to us and then share them. This episode has been meaningful, uplifting, and building up for me. Heavenly Father is pleased with all prayerfully made decisions and choices. Thank you!
It is so much like general conference. The familiar voices we have been so blessed to hear they have become as members of our family. So is the Book of Mormon
Thanks for Alma 29. This has been my favorite as long as I can remember. When I am low I turn to Alma. He is a unique person and is so different than all to me outside of the Savior.
I clean houses (part time) so I'm grateful for this podcast to listen to while I clean. Thank you for having Lori on again. She is down to earth and very relatable!❤
Thank you for spending time with me!!! I love all your lesson. I love your sense of humour, but also your testimonies! I listen to these podcasts by myself, as my husband is not a member of our church ( he is a wonderful man thought !!! ). I usually sit at the kitchen table, or do the dishes, or fold clothes, but you have my full attention!!! Thank you for all you do!! ❤🇨🇦
I always go to bed early so I can have plenty of peace and quiet to listen to your podcast so I'm proped up on 3 pillows in my bed and I just finished your podcast for this week. I'm so thankful to each one of you for the things I have learned and the wonderful Spirit I have felt! Thank you so much for adding so much to my scripture study. I learn and I laugh.😇😀
I listen from home while I work. I’m a medical coder and insurance biller. While I’m creating claims to go out to insurance I get spiritually fed from the podcast.
I'm in Ontario, Canada, near Toronto. I watch while I do my morning activity, my steps. I have a notepad and pen nearby so that I can jot down notes when I hear something that resonates with me or inspires me. I will be including some of the things I've heard in my Sacrament meeting talk this Sunday.
I am almost always folding laundry or doing dishes when I listen 😂 but I loved this week’s episode! I stopped and took the time to translate Alma 29 and it was actually very impactful. Thank you!!
I listen to this podcast while I work. I'm a histotechnician, and my job is very repetitive and can be very boring. This podcast is the highlight of my work week. These two episodes with Lori Denning were very enjoyable, enlightening, and thought/spirit provoking. Thank you for all you do!
I have learned more of the gospel in the book of Mormon since we do follow him and listen to your wonderful discussions thank you so much. I am homebound. Do you know wheelchair and I get more out of this than Sunday school because I cannot hear what they’re saying God bless you and thanks.
I am so grateful for having your channel to uplift my soul in understanding the scriptures. I was just cutting oranges in the kitchen and listening to the beautiful song in Hebrew that Professor Denning sung.🥰 She has a beautiful voice 🙏❤️
The repetition of the Lord that I hear in the Book of Mormon is "my arms are outstretched" no matter what. And I love the chant! You guys are great, we listen every week from Fayetteville, Georgia, just south of Atlanta. Keep up the inspiring work!!
Thank you both so much .I read my “come follow me “ scriptures every week then listen to your podcast for enrichment … You never fail .Margaret from Scotland..Seminary teacher
Oh that I were an angel I could share the Follow Him podcast with the whole earth and bring the beauty of the Book of Mormon into every heart and home!
Today I listened and took notes while shelling peas. Both episodes or parts in one setting. That's a new record I usually listen over two or three days.
I listen every Sunday afternoon as we meet at 9:00 for church. I look forward to it each week. Lori was a fantastic guest. I really enjoyed her musical chant.
Lori is wonderful! I loved this episode! I live in Boise and I’m usually doing yard work while I listen to you and your guests! Thank you, thank you, thank you for sharing your testimony and love of the scriptures! It strengthens me. ❤
Both parts of this episode are amazing. I enjoy listening to Follow Him every week, but I really enjoyed listening to Laurie Denning's insights. She is hilarious and very knowledgeable.
At the end of this podcast you asked us to comment about how we listen. I listen while getting ready for the day, driving, or eating lunch. I grab the transcript and copy paste notes into my scriptures, too! I’m sure grateful for all you do. Loved following the instruction by Dr. Denning. It’s like we all get to attend institute classes on the fly, regardless of how old we are or where we live.
I usually listen to you guys as I'm getting ready for the day, so I can have inspiration first thing in the morning. Thank you so much for all your insights!
I listen to your podcasts several times through the week. One of the times is between 4:20 and 5:10 AM on my way to serve at our temple in Twin Falls, Idaho.
I love Prof. Denning and I loved her chanting. Thanks for having her on. I listen while I commute to and from work and this week, I started listening while working outside over the weekend from Riverton, Utah!
Since I am not fond of walking, I listen to your podcast to motivate me. (And it has worked!) I also love swords and have had to work on my relationship with poetry so I love this episode
I listen while I cook. Music touches me and I think that Lori Denning chanting the hymn added so much to the episode. It strengthened the Spirit. Thanks John and Hank for being angels spreading the word of the Lord and to all of your background people, too!
A friend introduced me to Follow Him only 5 lessons ago. At first I thought Dr. Witesman was the most superb guest you could ever have invited. And now Professor Denning has tied with her in my appreciation. I always listen to BOTH parts of your lessons. I loved both ladies for all the different insights and perspectives and talents. And hearing Denning chant in Hebrew was such beautiful art. All y'all are so awesome!!! Many of us Saints here in Florida learn so much each week. Thanks a million!
I had an experience as a missionary also in Spain, in the mid 70's that I would like to bury deep in the earth. While doing 1st contacts by ringing doorbells one afternoon, I became frustrated and verbalized some very temporary emotions. I have wished that I could go back in time and live that scene again. I love that I can bury those weapons deep through the Savior Jesus Christ. Thanks so much for sharing this lesson!
I listen while I’m training for a marathon. Leads to a lot of time to think and reflect, as well as resolve to improve on the path of discipleship along with our scriptures heroes. Thanks for the inspiration and the laughs!
Hearing Lori sing the Hebrew chant was so spiritual. I linked Matthew 27:46, Psalm 22:1, D&C 121:1 and reflected on situations in my life when I have cried to the Lord ‘I can’t take anymore’, yet more was required of me. The Saviour strengthened me to take one more step, and then another. Watching from the Forest of Dean, UK. Thank you to the FollowHim team for your willingness and enthusiasm in sharing your knowledge and testimonies.
I listen while cleaning as a custodian. It's such a wonderful way to start my day and focus my mind and heart while I do these mindless things. I'm going to have to find a new way to get this into my life when I don't have 4 hours of time to listen every morning
I listen while doing my physical therapy in the morning. I empower my spirit while I empower my body so I can claim more productive days. So grateful to be your virtual students & to be blessed by your dedicated experts! Deep, tuition-free learning available & accessible to all who desire it. THANK YOU!
Since I usually listen to both odd cats 3 times... In eating lunch before going off to my Senior Service Mission, I carry my phone with me as I do my household chores, and usually on Sunday after church and before going to my daughter's for dinner, I just relax and listen! You help get me through my week!❤
I’m a mother of 6 boys and one girl. 23 grandchildren. I love your podcasts so much and I listen every week and learn so much! Thank you. I live in Providence Utah. ❤
WOW!! That is my new favorite podcast episode!! I loved hearing all of those stories, including why stories are so beneficial; and all of the rhetorical and literary devices to find and use when studying the scriptures!!
I love your podcasts and your very informative guests. Something that I thought when listening to this episode. When the converted Lamanites gave up their weapons of war... I thought they also gave up their unfaithfulness, hard hearts, stiff necks, idle thoughts, etc. Part of their burying deep those things that made them wild and ferousious. Interesting podcast. Thank you all.
Playing catchup on these podcasts today (Sunday). Great Sabbath worship. I'm a knitter. Haven't crossed the bridge to knit in Sacrament or Sunday classes yet, but these podcasts are a great place to practice my skills with no judgement. I loved these lessons with Professor Denning. The chant was beautiful. All three of you have inspired me to love the Savior more, to be more like Him, to strive more consistently to keep my covenants. Thank you to all of you for the time you spend with us each week.
Hank - I know you know this, but it was definitely the Spirit that guided you that morning. My daughter was in your class that day and as one who has not served a mission, she needed the peace of mind that that thought provided her. Thank you from Bowling Green Ohio from a fan who has never missed an episode from the beginning.
I listen to Come Follow Me and gain understanding with each podcast. Thank you for helping me more fully understand the Book of Mormon. I have always loved reading the Book of Mormon> You have brought light to my understanding. Thank You
John in your chant you said you hope that you could use your voice to….. I want you to know that John and Hank, You have used your voices and have changed so many people on so many levels and you are still doing that. Thank you for all you have done for me, for my children and for the youth and adults of our church community.
I sweep and mop my tile while I listen. Great Saturday mornings start with Hank and John. Professor Lori is amazing, and I would love to hear more of her perspectives!
As I was watching this video from my favorite recliner, in Dubai, I thought how each one of you could produce an excellent podcast, but the three of you, a scholar, John and Hank make a perfectly balanced podcast rich in knowledge, "keep it realness". and humor.
Love that!

The chant/song was beautiful. Thank you for the further insights, as to why they wrote the way they did. It is a great help.

Oh how I loved the Hebrew chant! Lori has a beautiful voice.
I agree. I started crying! Absolutely beautiful
I can't believe Lori said she isn't a great vocalist. Her voice is remarkable. It was beautiful to hear that chant. I've learned a lot from her testimony as well.

❤❤❤ An amazing episode. Thank you!
Just WoW...I loved this study with the three of you...if I were an angel...and yet, I am what I am...💖
SALAMAT! Your insights are a great blessing to me. May God bless you and your family.
Thank you for sharing! I listen while I'm at the gym.
I listen to you while I stretch after my morning workouts.
As I was watching this video from my favorite recliner, in Dubai, I thought how each one of you could produce an excellent podcast, but the three of you, a scholar, John and Hank make a perfectly balanced podcast rich in knowledge, "keep it realness". and humor.
