The boss fights with Saito and his gang vs Kiryu and Saejima where so hard to me that i didn't pay enough attention in this theme song, is pretty good.
I love the song, but can’t enjoy it to the fullest because Saejima’s opening chapter was so horrendous. I legitimately couldn’t listen to it for a month after that because even thinking about that section made me mad. That one escape portion took up like half of my time in Saejima’s chapter.
i think this fits saito the best because it sounds so hopeless yet so full of energy, it's like you're facing a very strong foe but you still have a spark of hope in you. amazing theme
This was my first Yakuza game back in 2019… so safe to say, once I got to Kiryu’s chapter, having suffered with Saito twice before with Saejima, beating the living shit out of him and his asshole friends while experiencing Kiryu’s fighting style for the first time, all with this in the background felt incredible. Amazing way to introduce myself to Kiryu.
As a level one saejima, it’s really annoying since you won’t know that most of saejima’s charge attacks have armor With kiryu his move set matches saito way better through quick counter play

I love how fight with Amon Clan basically tell you that you're cheesing not gonna work this time (except for Kiryu part). You want to spam enemy with fast attacks as Akiyama? That bastard gonna sidestep and then in phase 2 dodge almost every your attack. You wann tank with pure muscle as Saejima? Nope. That sunnavabitch gonna send your ass to the space with his (or should I say his hammer) collossal damage (oh and also he heal). You want to parry every attack as Tanimura and then do a combo? Well, too bad piggy. He got fucking gun style (hello, Arase). So in the first phase he just gonna shut you and in the second phase when he gonna attack you a lot, he gain his own parry abillity so you can't do epic combo with him. As for Kiryu part.... He still got absolute weapon against Amon. Tiger drop. So I think he's allright (btw, it looks like Jo amon was first who used style system in the series). Still, great fight
y4's combat felt worse than y3's, for a reason I can barely explain. perhaps it was because of those enemies that constantly grabbed you. fighting against crowds in this game felt pretty bad, too. many people criticize the story, also.

Better damage outputs (allows for fast paced combat), less blocking, and imo a better upgrade system where you can choose what you want rather than Yakuza 3/5’s having to buy upgrades in order.
@@TheRealFredbearPlush i really enjoyed the characters, too. akiyama is a godsend. i wouldn't call the soundtrack s tier, but it's fantastic as always. material delights turned out to be my favorite long battle theme in the franchise. however, i thought yakuza 4's combat felt much more troublesome than 3's. or at least the situations in which the developers placed us were more difficult. i mean, grappler enemies are completely supernatural. they can phase through goons to insta-grab you. scary stuff. some long battles are a little difficult, too. the prison break sequence is not the best beginner-friendly long battle, and then the kamurocho hills one had so many annoying enemies (looking at u, shotgun man). there's this thing where you can't grab enemies while they're in the middle of an attack animation: your arm will pass through them and you will be hit. really annoying in early game and in late game situations where you're surround by people. i'm not going to lie, i still had much more fun playing 4, which, sure, had really nice changes to the combat but in general felt more cumbersome to play at times. the story wasn't the best, though, it felt convoluted (which i guess is natural, since you have to follow 4 characters and 4 antagonists with different stories that end up intertwining with each other), especially when one has a small attention span like me. i like the relatively complex plots these games have compared to other franchises, but 4 and 5 didn't particularly hook me. especially 5, oh boy.
It's hilarious that despite the fact this is Rasetsu Amon's theme, it's not on the Dead Souls/OF THE END OST. Cared too little about Amon in that game.
Midorikawa has not right being as memorable as he is for me. When the music hits the climax all I hear is his chainsaw and Akiyama desperately blocking it.
I recently just got into the Yakuza franchise and have absolutely loved Yakuza 0/Kiwami 1. Both were phenomenal games! However, after playing Kiwami 2, I started to dislike it. I'm seriously not fond of the Dragon Engine and am dreading the thought of playing Y6/Y7 (Y7's combat looks even worse than K2). Anyway, I went on to playing Yakuza 3/4 and I have to say, I absolutely loved Yakuza 4! It's up there with Y0 for me
@@4ds709 I for one love Dragon Engine combat. The improved physics and the ability to go into stores and absolutely trash them with your enemies (or just your kicks) after throwing someone through them in combat is just a blast, and I have no idea why. 😆
The dragon engine is pretty cool, but regardless of how people feel about it, there’s no way people can say it’s worse than 3’s combat. The unbreakable guards, the instant follow up attacks from enemies after trying to combo through their blocks, endless dodging, it has not aged well.
