Pretty sure warhammer, age pf sigmar: champions did it first. Physical packs you can buy+ an app to play digitally+codes to put your physical cards into the digital game. Edit: oh also like 20+ years ago yugioh was doing it on gameboy advance too. Mind you, the game was bad and you had to have the gameboy, and the game cartridge, and the cards too. But it has been done.
Thank you for commenting and sharing games I was not aware of. Yu Gi Oh is particularly interesting. Do you happen to know which exact game it was? You are absolutely correct that there are other games that can definitely be categorized as “phygital” TCG e.g. Eye of Judgment, Chaotic TCG, and ones you’ve mentioned. My personal definition of “true” phygital regarding to Altered have two main components. 1. Physical and digital collection are linked bidirectionally. Altered covers this by offering unlimited print on demand. 2. Organized play support in both platforms using the “single” shared master collection. Altered OP support on digital platform is unclear at this point, but I am very optimistic here. I would acknowledge such definition is arbitrary one. :)

Great thing is, u cant fake the cards. This game i think will take over unless equinox messes it up
