The fun thing about Chevelle was that they were a bass heavy band. They treated the bass as a rhythm guitar rather than a bass. A lot of their songs have the bass up front in the mix ahead of the lead.
The Chevelle/Tool comparison was there from the beginning, but it's not that Chevelle really sounds like Tool, it's more that if Tool decided to make shorter, radio friendly songs, they'd sound like Chevelle.
Dude "Grab thy Hand" and "Family System" are still two of my favorite songs to date. Both absolute bangers from this album that didn't get enough love unless you owned the album "wonder what's next"
From what i remember Chevelle was 3 brothers and the brother with his shirt off was learning bass guitar even with this song and he got kicked out of the band and Chevelle is now 2 brothers the songer and the drumer
Here for your CheVelle journey! And my heart almost stopped when you said you liked Queens of the Stone Age. CheVelle and QOTSA are my two favorite bands. This song is much older than 13 years. RUclips has only been around since like 2009. The album this song came from was released around 2001 or so. Ben from Breaking Benjamin said CheVelle was an influence for him. He listened to them when he still had a normal job, so BB has a CheVelle sound, not the other way around. 😁
This song and "Send The Pain Below" were mega radio hits back in the early 2000's, "The Red" never reached #1 but "Send The Pain Below" remained at the position for four weeks. I still hear them both on the radio quite often.
Makes me so happy you’re checking them out. Chevelle has been my favorite band since 05 I’d say a great next listen would be “The Clincher”. Bass heavy and super catchy
When they came through Arkansas recently with Breaking Benjamin they absolutely stole the show. Granted, I was mostly there to see Chevelle anyways lol, most southern U.S. folks love them, myself included. Would love to hear your reaction to Saferwaters and/or I Get It off of their album Vena Sera! Love your reactions, man.
I'm a massive Tool and APC fan and just started listening to Chevelle in the last few years. Don't really get the APC comparison but I do love both haha
I could listen to ALL Chevelle songs from start to finish without skipping a single song! I LOVE this band and they are great! Pete is amazing in his vocals and on that damn guitar. From Point #1 all the way through to Niratias, I love their vibes man! They have been compared to many bands, but Chevelle definitely has their own sound and with Pete at the vocals it is just pure gold!
Chevelle is Tool without the fuck around. Chevelle cuts to the point in 4 mins and makes a statement. Listen to their first album and you will swear its a long lost Tool album from when they were 14.
if youd like a different approach to chevelle, you should record yourself listening to the song “in debt to the earth”. it really shows off the band’s flexibility and range in my opinion
Can’t wait for more CheVelle!! Shameful Metaphors! The Clincher! Fizgig! Saturdays! Forfeit! Hell, too many good songs to name. Pretty much can’t go wrong with CheVelle haha 😅
2:47 fun fact Chevelle is one of breaking Benjamen inspirations

No where more evident than in Comfortable Liar.
Played that one on repeat for the spine tingling anger 😁
They sound just as good live
i saw them at blue ridge couple years ago and although i love chevelle, their live performance for me was one of the worst of that day
They are awesome live
@@veihnq3329then it would be safe to say they aren’t consistent
Going to see them next week 🤘
The Chevelle/Tool comparison was there from the beginning, but it's not that Chevelle really sounds like Tool, it's more that if Tool decided to make shorter, radio friendly songs, they'd sound like Chevelle.
Chevelle is underrated here in America as well. Reaction channels pretty much ignore them, and they're one of the best Rock bands still doing it.
Chevelle = 🔥🔥🔥
This song is more like 20 years ago. This is so good live! My first experience with chevelle was the song send the pain below
Dude, first thought I had when he says 13 years ago. I was becoming an adult to this shit.... making memories and mistakes, 😂
@@jfreeze8743 i remember driving on my own for the first time ever and this song was on the radio
The speakers are pounding in your chest at their concerts!! ❤😊
Dude "Grab thy Hand" and "Family System" are still two of my favorite songs to date. Both absolute bangers from this album that didn't get enough love unless you owned the album "wonder what's next"
Roswell's spell. I've never walked out of a Chevelle concert with toenails.
Perfect ❤❤ when the music you love is too hard for your children. 😂😂
I was listening to this when i was playing StarCraft 1 as a kid in 2001 or 2002
From what i remember Chevelle was 3 brothers and the brother with his shirt off was learning bass guitar even with this song and he got kicked out of the band and Chevelle is now 2 brothers the songer and the drumer
You should listen to forfeit by them
ne obliviscaris - and plague flowers the kaleidoscope. check them out they are epic!
Saw them live a month ago. Still amazing!
Vitamin R is a good tune as well.
Saw them and A Perfect Circle for 14 bucks. It wasn't because they were unpopular, they just weren't in it for the money.
every single album they have is amazing.
So weird that you guys started reacting to Chevelle and I’ve been on a Chevelle binge the last few months lol
Send The Pain Below is one of my old favorites. Peach is a newer hard driving song!!

Beautiful point 🙌🏼 Fingers crossed for more 😅
Do yourself a favour and check out their album 'Hats Off To The Bull'.. it's start to finish fantastic.
Just one of those bands who stayed true to their sound. Such a rarity. 🤘🏼✌🏼
How did you not accidentally download this on Limewire listed as "Unreleased Linkin Park"?? I did that accidentally like 6 times.
Those were the days naazon
My wife and kids know this song. I made sure they did. It’s a great shower song. At least I think it is when I’m full on belting it out.
This song and "Send The Pain Below" were mega radio hits back in the early 2000's, "The Red" never reached #1 but "Send The Pain Below" remained at the position for four weeks. I still hear them both on the radio quite often.
Send the Pain Below and I think it was Vitamin R were 2 other good Chevelle songs.
You mentioned QOTSA, try Royal Blood, Boilermaker.
You’ll pick up on the influences immediately.
It a fun one, weirdly awesome.
93 million views... I'm responsible for just about 33% of them 😂
I made a video presentation in my sophomore year of high school and used one of their songs from this album. That was in 2003 😂😂
Tool and chevelle toured together I believe
Makes me so happy you’re checking them out. Chevelle has been my favorite band since 05
I’d say a great next listen would be “The Clincher”. Bass heavy and super catchy
Going red again. So lay down your arms. Threat is real. FAFO. seeing red, again. You say freak. I’m singled out

That’s because BB is mid in comparison to chevelle ;) I think chevelle is more talented. But that’s my opinion
NIRATIAS, their most recent release, is an amazing album.
I'm a massive Tool and APC fan and just started listening to Chevelle in the last few years. Don't really get the APC comparison but I do love both haha
I love this band….big fan of their track comfortable liar
Just curious...why would the guitarist regret having his shirt off?
No reason at all Melissa he looks great

The Fad is one of my favorites from Chevelle. Also, Send the Pain Below
the youngest brother with the shirt off i doubt it.
sci fi crimes best albulm

Send the Pain Below is their best song, you should check it out.
Disagree, but still a good song nonetheless. Certainly one of their most popular.
the last bit of the song is so loud in concert
You should listen to their song Forfeit it’s an awesome song and I don’t see a lot of people talking about that song very often
if youd like a different approach to chevelle, you should record yourself listening to the song “in debt to the earth”. it really shows off the band’s flexibility and range in my opinion
Love how you have no concept of Seeing Red........... and worried about the bass player wearing a shirt or not! Geeeeeez...
you are a clueless goober man, i garantee you`ve never seen red !
Tool Lite
Not a bad thing lol
