Did you forget how Luffy barely beat a yonko commander and literally next arc he fighting two yonkos but everyone and they mama knew he was gonna win and why? Because he’s the main character, Luffy who just barely beaten a yonko commander got one shot by kaido and in literally a month (one piece time) Luffy power skyrocket to the point he was fighting equal with kaido until he got a power up and defeated him. Only difference between him and Kidd is that Luffy is the main character there both as reckless and let’s not act like they didn’t jump kaido to the upmost limit I still feel like kaido is stronger

@@Littlejack69420 it is chapter 1079 of the manga, which has not yet been trasposed into the anime. Currently the last episode of the anime transposes chapter 1070. I think there are 9 or 10 episode missing before watching this :)

One piece anime fight scenes contain a lot of modern anime hype tropes including really excessive visual effects (lights show), or just straight up drawing out moments for the sake of drama (the final clash with doflamingo, tons of moments in the zoro vs king fight etc.). The manga doesnt really give this sensation or feeling, so it's understandable someone might prefer it to be a bit more reigned in. I enjoy it myself because it is still based on Oda's framework which is inherently creative but it is an understandable opinion to hold.
Unpopular opinion, but I think this is how an adaptation should be. It really feels like the pre Wano story boarding and directing which was what I loved about the show. As much as I appreciate how much attention is being put into the show now, I think the anime scenes should improve and adapt the impact of the manga, not change it to be their own thing.
