I really enjoy your German accent. Thank you for this awesome video, I will be working on it during the long winter.

Interesting workaround for stereo productions. Nice approach.

Hi, great Videos! I am still a bit puzzled and was wondering if dear vr monitor is similar to the solution with the atmos renderer? Also if you dont use dear vr pro, which plugins would you use then? Again great stuff thank you!

Thanks! The Atmos Renderer is something different as it renders Atmos. There are a number of plugins that do the same as DearVR Monitor. Personally I prefer APL Virtuoso.

Is DearVR Pro 2 required? It's a little pricey.

      There are alternatives.

@@michaelgwagner Thank you Professor Wagner. I am trying to go straight to Renderer from Live using the Dolby Atmos Music Panner, but all of the object numbers are disabled under "Object Pair" section of the VST. I have all 130 output channels activated and 129 set as mono running to LTC. Dolby Renderer is getting the signal and to the right Object, I just can't see the objects in the room on the bottom right. Can I call you for a consultation if you think you can help?

So lets see if I understood what you are doing here. Do you "misuse" the E4L ambisonics channels (which are meant to hold the components of the spherical harmonics) by injecting L-R channels and then you create a 16 channel Atmos signal in this ambisonics "carrier" by using DearVR Pro as a "panner", adding some channel magic afterwards so we actually get a Atmos compatible signal?
I have tried to do replicate this but using Dolby Atmos Composer (I have no Mac) as a backend, which did not work. I guess it just needs its own beamers.
Edit: I just saw the video where you address just these questions, clever trick! I am just missing a binaural surround renderer that works on windows so I can listen to the full surround set.

There are a couple of options. Virtuoso should work on Windows.

dear vr has a simulated late reflections positioned and concentrated in only (!) two points on sphere, +90 and -90 of azimuth, near 0 of elevation in spite of object position, and has symmetrical early reflections in terms of space geometry. as for me - it is a toy for binaural, not a pro at all, output channels quantity does not have sense

A lot of people like it. I’m not the biggest fan either.
