I am aiming a flashlight into the drum so you can see what's going on inside the machine during a wash cycle. Наука
One of the most random videos on RUclips, but God bless you. This proved me right when arguing with my wife over our washer working or not.
Omg this is funny bc it's the same reason I'm here for!
Just some helpful advice... you’re never right. Even when you are correct. You’re never right.
@@m.h.1992 Me too!
I’m preparing for when my amana he breaks
Saaaame 😂
My family has this same exact washer we have had it for a couple of weeks now and my mom said that if we ever get a new washer and dryer it is going to be this one we love it
Wrong video title. The correct one would be "Look! I put pods in the dispenser! Why? Just because I never read manuals and I'm proud of it!"
Damn...
Sorry for a long story but I have read the manuals and have had HE models for over 5 years. I bought this model in the video at Lowe’s 2 years ago to replace an LG HE top loader that was 3 yrs old. The LG cabinet started rusting 6 months after purchase. The rust started on an interior ledge that was not painted during assembly. LG would not repair this since they determined the rust was “cosmetic”. Anyway after the rust started getting in the wash basket it started ruining white and light colored items. That’s when I junked it and bought this animal. It started malfunctioning in about 10-11 months. Biggest issue is the “normal” water levels per cycle. After seeing the washed loads twisted up tighter than hell and still soapy, I went to using the “Deep Fill” option. That worked.. for awhile. The machine started to drain as soon as it reached the deep cycle level and spin out my just filled tub with the detergent and all . It’s been serviced twice under the Lowe’s warranty I purchased with the machine. The next service call gets me into a LEMON status under the warranty and a replacement or refund. After the last repair in Dec, the tech told me nothing was wrong. It was just an “HE” unit that conserved water. Bullsh*#! I bought a Speed Queen unit 2 days later. It works like washers used to. They cost a little more and have smaller tubs but a regular cycle is about 35 minutes and the clothes are done like they should be. Also today my daughter told me the MT is acting up again. Gotta get that last service call for the LEMON. DON’T buy the HE models. JUNK! My 2 cents..
I wish I read your review before I bought this POS. I just washed my workout clothes and it took about an hour…some clothes smelled great, others not so great. Thought Id do a quick “rapid wash” but how in the hell is the washer gonna tell me 1hr 15min for a rapid wash? I hate this thing
Also, the tube takes longer to “fill” with water than it spends on actually “washing” the clothes. I thought we were good to go cuz it has an agitator. The only agitation is me. Please don’t let that agitator fool you.
I’ve tried all the tricks to get this washer to do a basic load. The only thing I found that works is doing a very small load at a time. Waste of water, time, electricity, and drives me crazy. I hope this thing breaks soon so we can get a Speed Queen
We have the Samsung one like this with matching dryer , I think it’s the second best one we had. First one was the front load we had in SC before our house burnt down.
We purchased this Maytag MVW7230Hw washer from Pochel’s in Tacoma, Washington. It was delivered and set up by the delivery person. We tried to do a load of laundry and the washer wouldn’t agitate. I took a video to show that the agitator pretty much just vibrated, and didn’t even disturb the small amount of suds that formed when the machine partially filled with water. I took the video to Pochels the next morning. They said they would gladly deliver another machine for only $100. I told them I wasn’t willing to pay an additional $100 to get a machine that worked when I had already paid over $1,000 for one that obviously didn’t work. The agitator doesn’t always work, the fill doesn’t always work, the agitator tries to dry clean the clothes with no water in the tub and the clothes on top don’t get clean.
We got the BRAVOS XL of this and the dryer version back in 2015. Both worked fine until on the washer, the drum and motor separated. We had someone fix it, but it ended up breaking again a few days later so we had to get the washer replaced, with an LG unit. Dryer is still fine though.
I have the GE 5.3 washer with the matching dryer. Absolutely love it.
Front load or top load?
TaylorFanGaming400 300k top load. I will never own a front load 🤮
@@ardiemclelland2039 Ok😁😁
@@ardiemclelland2039 I got top load too
@Isaac Joby John to each is own. Personally, I don’t like the fact that the front loaders use less water. I work in a job where I get dirty and so do my clothes. I want them being pulled down under water and getting cleaned properly. If you are an office worker or work some other job where you don’t really get that dirty, front loaders are great. I need all the water I can get.
I just got the 5.3 cu ft washer. Oh love this machine. So easy to use! Saving time; I finished all of my laundry in one day instead of two. I’m so happy.
Christine Elise Osborn if I had enough room in my space, I’d buy this washer, however, I purchased an LG, cuz I only need room for a king size comforter
@@denster1964 that washer was making that ticking noise
I had the Whirlpool version of that and it is a lemon. It leaked from the bottom, the motor went out twice, it got bogged down and would stop mid cycle with heavier clothes. But even if it didn't quit, it barely got stains, so I got rid of it and got a Speed Queen.
I have this one and give it time. It’s a disappointment.
I just bought a Maytag top-loader, and was skeptical about it because of these videos and comments. Well, I can confidently say that they clean VERY well. I was really surprised, but my clothes came out way cleaner than they did with a Whirlpool front-loader. I don’t know what all these whiners are complaining about.
Dave Glo, did you buy this model? Impeller or agitator?
@@barbaramazzocca4605 I have the model with an “agitator,” but it’s not a real agitator like the old machines. It’s simply there to prevent the clothes from being draped across the impeller. Having said that, I am not thrilled with the model. It leaves way too much lint, can’t hold nearly as much laundry as the large basket implies, and doesn’t extract nearly as much water as the front loader I previously had. But all modern washers have pros and cons, and I’m okay with this Maytag.
I've got one and it's awesome, doesn't click like that one though.. tough idea to wrap my head around the super low water, but my laundry is always so clean now and stains even from working on my vehicle or house just come out spotless
Same here! I was very skeptical when I bought it and gave it a spin (pardon the pun), but everything came out spotless. I’m very pleased, much to my surprise.
I had this washer and I always washed all my clothes, jeans, towels, everything, on the Bedding cycle and it would fill up with more water. Temperature Warm, Soil level Medium. Spin speed, Max Extract. Oxi off.
,
Is there a faster cycle I washed in normal it took like 3 hours. That’s ridiculous!
I have this washer and some of the cycles wash in 2 inches of water. I hate it. I’m gonna try the bedding. Do u put it on deep fill?
I just rented this machine for a couple of months. Just until a tech can come out and fix the other machine I have. The inlet valve is shot. While this doesn't function as smoothly as my other machine, that's not working, the end result is close. It's just loud. I washed some dirty cleaning rags, and I was shocked. You should use Persil Megapearls or the UK or Germam imports of Ariel. Those are the best detergents you can buy for a HE machine.
The little beeps Maytags make are the only reason I still do laundry
You are not suppose to put tide pods in the Dispenser because it can clog up if it doesn’t dissolve. It should go at the bottom of the tub. It says so in the use and care guide that comes with the washer.
The container specifically says to put pods in the tub, not the liquid detergent or softener holders.
It really doesn't matter what you use or how you load the machine, its not good but hey...you get a 10yr warranty! Wanna buy mine?
@Ronald McFondle na bud...the real dummy is someone who buys this for tenant use and wants to handle all the complaint calls. I have read the instructions and even load it like there is a center agitator but this machine is only energy efficient because it saves water and doesn't wet all the clothes. The dryer is nice thou. If you get funny looks at Wawa its not you its the smell of unwashed clothes.
@@awesomedave8484 warranty is only on drive motor and tub surround. And doesn't cover negligence.
I have an Lg front loader and my family has owned it for 6 years, most of the time we put ultra clean pods in the dispenser until now.
Why are they making these machines bigger and only giving you a cup of water
Because they are stupid and want to fuck us out of money
michelle odom larger and useless. And don’t clean without dual action agitator.
@@Lexusgx550 I had to pick a washer and I went with the LG 3900 front loader. And I love it!!!
@Ronald McFondle I've had a pulsator washer for about 8 years and it's worked just fine. Despite those who claim the agitating washers are better and the impellers are "cheap and shiny garbage". As for the LG it's recently expired due to a tap frying the circuitry. Besides that, overloading is a stupid idea and usually throws it unbalanced, then complain when their 3 blankets and pillows aren't being redistributed on the spot.
This is why I am glad this apartment I live in that was built in 2001 still has the original Whirlpool Direct drive. My clothes actually get clean for real.
Had the LG pair, and returned it. Had the Maytag with agitator, and returned it. Have had the Bravos XL pair for a month now and EXTREMELY happy with it. Clothes extremely clean, no residues left as in other comments. Machine fills water from the back, but also sprays water over clothes from front right. I did not see this in the video.
Mark Bobrosky can you provide the model number please ?
Mark Bobrosky
I just bought the Maytag Bravo pair and don’t even want to hook them up after reading the reviews. Can you please tell me what model numbers you gave?
@@kathygreig7416 Washer: MVW8855DC. Dryer: MGD8855DC. Bought them at Loews in December. These are the BRAVOS Steam, which has the power spray, which sprays water on top of clothes during parts of the cycle. I've seen others here that do not have the power spray, so that may be the difference. The matching dryer with steam is great too. The LG always required more time, and often clothes were slightly damp at the end, requiring even more time.
Sorry, that's MVWB855DC and MGDB855DC
Mark Bobrosky I bought the Bravo XL washer model no. mvwb835dw4 and dryer model no. medb835dw4. My main concerns are reviews on low water amounts that don’t get clothes clean and time it takes to do a load of laundry. I guess I’ll have to hook them up and find out for myself.
It’s a good washer except I would think it would preform a lot better if it would use more water. I recommend the deep water wash cycle
Best washer & dryer I've ever Had
We have the same washer and during agitation it makes that same knocking noise. I guess it’s normal?
damn i can wash 2 loads by hand before this thing is done Doesn't seem like it clean the clothes very well spent more time filling up then washing🤷♀️🤦♀️
I have this washer and I hate it! The water level never enough to completely cover the clothes.
The agitator in the "WASH" cycle barely turns the clothes. Towels have to be washed twice to get clean.
Stay away from this washer if you have very dirty clothes , they will not get clean!
By the way I use Tide detergent. lt 's not the detergent. Its a washer design problem.
Totally agreed! 💯
Selected 'deep water wash' and it will fill with more water.
Can it really wash/clean the clothes when the "wash cycle" is not really spinning and all thr machine do is turn halfway?
What brand is the dryer at this house?
I have these washers...they seem energy efficient..water saver! BUT the clothes come out dirty..with and without deep feel...called the technician twice and still the same! I HAVE read the manual following all the steps..no luck! I am now out of return window...the whites come out really the same! I loved my 20 yr old washers...Next gonna try queen!
same, trying to replace a 10 year old water with a technology upgrade, but clothes don't come out so clean, watching dry clothes wiggle and not get wet doesn't reassure me this thing is working. our return window began two days ago and my wife is on the way to the box store to raise a bit of hell.
@@SoupLegionHey it's not the box store's fault - American consumers are by far the most stubbornly ignorant in the world, always sure they know what they want. I can't even tell you how many customers I've had tell me that that "Yup, that Maytag MVW6500 Pet Pro has the agitator I want, I'll take it.. don't try to sell me a front loader, I heard from my aunt's hairdresser's neice's teacher's husband that they always get moldy and i will refuse to buy one no matter what you say!" and then come back a few days later to have me set up a pickup for their VMW trash-loader and sell them what I myself have, an LG WM4000. Because thats the machine that the technicians who understand what a variable frequency drive, accelerometer-based balance detection, immersion water heater, and recirculating saturation pumps are buy for themselves. It's only uneducated, ignorant and unwilling-to-learn "consumers" who think a clothes-shredding agitator and "MORE WATER!!! CLOTHES ARENT CLEAN UNTIL THE HOUSE IS FLOODED!" is how you clean clothes.
Has it always made that clanking/clicking sound when turning back and forth? Just bought a used one, wasn't sure if that is normal.
It seems common for these to click/knock under certain cycles and load conditions.
Does this thing actually wash the clothes? Doesn't look like its doin much of anything to clean them.
Seems to work for me
What washer did you have before this?
Omg even tho this video might seem boring (actually it is) 😏 I’m so glad I found it. I was so glad I finally got my own washer and dryer and seriously thought I was doing something wrong or the washer didn’t work. Honestly if this is the way is supposed to work I do not like it at all the reason why I didn’t get an old fashioned with an agitator is because I feel is too rough on the clothes and wouldnt fit my queen size comforter. I guess I have to go for a front loader.
다니엘라 Typo Queen front loaders are the best
I had two different front-leaders in the past 15 years. I just bought this new top-load Maytag and it cleans better than the front-load (I don’t know how), and I don’t have all the front-load mildew issues anymore.
Girl same here I bought this piece of sh** too late to return it 🥺😓😩😩😩😩
Deep water setting does not work during normal or sanitary cycle according to the manual....most people are doing it wrong...also it doesn't fully fill till about ten min into the wash cycle....also with any he machine you only need about 2 tbs.... 3 at most of soap....it's concentrated ....not a whole scoop or cup full....I use the powder and an old baby formula scoop so my kids don't over use the soap....soap buildup will ruin your machine over time and it ruins your cloths and the buildup will cause them to get smelly over time....
Got this machine and a first I was like what the hell how come it did not full up but it work great front load also just spin one way and then the other
THANK YU MUCH FUN
I just bought the Maytag Commercial Top load washer ....and having the same issues with the agitator not moving clothes around enough. I figured out how to fill tub 1/2 by using the deep fill on button! Also after 2 wks I’m getting a L4 Error Code. Looked that up and it means there’s a prob with water inlet! Sooooooo I’m thinking this is a piece of crap! I called Lowe’s to service it already or take back.
never add tide pods to the detergent dispenser as they may not dissolve
When I had my Maytag It said in the instruction book, for best results do no more then an 8 pound load!!! So what's the sense of having a big machine if you have to do more loads??? So I sent mine back and got a Speed Queen instead, at least that fills all the way up with water for wash and rinse and does a full load in just 42 minutes!!!
Which model did you buy?

@@chriscogbill8884 Pods never go in the tray unless there's a dispenser that specifically takes them, like some of the GE top loaders and the Electrolux front loaders. Otherwise, pods go in the drum before the clothes.

The maytag neptune front load uses low water too.

I bought this EXACT machine and it is a PIECE OF CRAP. I loaded it numerous times on numerous settings and the clothes on top never get wet or move around. The problem with this machine is it doesn't use enough water and the impeller is so underpowered and it doesnt move back and fort far enough ,or fast enough, to get the clothes to move at all. I tried washing 4 loads all on differt settings and the same result. This is the biggest waste of money !!! Trust me I followed the loading instructions to the TEE , and nope, clothes just sat on top and didnt even get completely wet.
How do you keep the light on while it’s washing?????
It's a flash light taped to the top
Another video showing the clothes don’t turnover at all
I have one with a agitator!
Because maytag bravos mvwb835dw is the same model as the maytag commercial technology mvwb865gw
The worst thing u could do is just throw your laundry in the like that, in order for your clothes to be washed properly, u have to load the machine in loose heaps around the wash plate, you should always be able to see the center of the pulsator after loading the clothes. Otherwise your clothes are just gonna sit there in one big clump like they’re doing now.
And you really think that they stay in nice heaps after the agitation starts? How you place the clothes in the washer has nothing to do with how it operates.
🤔what about blankets?
Just bought that same one today
Is there any way to spin only?
After draining water and spin cycle starts. If the load is off balance the cycle stops and starts the WHOLE cycle over, refilling the machine with water. Then rinse drain again and try to spin again..if the load is still off balance it repeats & repeats & repeats. Until I stop the cycle open lid adjust load and well.......didn’t change a thing it just repeat the same thing. Is there a spin only cycle without the washer rerunning the rinse cycle??
Yes in menus go to: Special care, spin only, spin speed, Start button
Well at least the clothes on the bottom are getting clean.
Hi Our washer machine doesn’t fill of water
I don’t know way?
Make sure your water valves are on that’s why it’s not filing up!!!! 😃😃🤗🤗🤔🤔

So we just got this washer last week. Does it bother you that the water doesn't even fill past the clothes?? I can't see how the clothes are getting clean.
I came here for this i watched the whole wash. t shirt at top did not get touched at all. The rinse barely got it wet. How is that even clean?!
I have the same washer and I have virtually tried every stinkin setting. The water never comes above the clothes. That's why I started searching on youtube lol I'm like, I must be missing something or doing something wrong. It almost make me want to go back to an oldschool standard washer.

NaeLuva all of y’all need to go out and get your old school washer back and throw these away these machines are nothing but trouble
After four years of residential use by a family of four our Maytag Bravos model MVWX655DW1 washer had an unacceptable failure of transmission part # W11035751 due to poor design. The output shaft that drives the tub and agitator is unprotected from corrosion and is submersed in each wash cycle and subsequently designed to fail. This preventable failure could be prevented by the designer by plating the shaft or constructing it of stainless, but then they would sell less washers. The transmission purchased on E-bay was half the price than if purchased from Maytag and worked wonderfully but has the same issue. The only thing I could do on the replacement transmission to slow the corrosion is to paint the shaft then coat with silicone during assembly. I know this will make disassembly more difficult in the future, but it is the only option I have as grease may not be used inside the wash tub. The other issue of concern was the build up of a quarter inch of mud under the agitator and around the wash tub despite the regular use of the proper cleaning products to periodically flush the washer. My expectation of Maytag products was one of quality design but after seeing this failure in a relatively short period of time, my expectation has changed greatly!
this washer is more likely the same on my whirlpool cabrio washer
What is the tik tik noise when it spins? Broken?
In my video description i said: Public Service Announcement. Do not move the washing machine while its on any cycle! I moved my machine slightly since it was crooked in my room while it was on the wash cycle. After that , it made all sort of squeaking noises. LG in house technican stopped by today (under warranty) and he had to re-align it. LG's repair receipt says " Squaking noise. Adjusted and leveled washer, noise was due to tub rubbing against cabinet padding. Tested ok."

Dude why It's just detergent pods!!!!
Thats just the way they use It! If it works for them, it works for them.
@@Blurain727 Yeah but that's literally not how to use them. Putting a pod in a regular detergent draw risks gumming everything up and your clothes not cleaning properly. The pods need to sit in water for a little bit so they can dissolve. If they don't, the plastic won't dissolve fully and the detergent won't dispense properly. Why even go through the trouble of putting it in the drawer? Just toss it in the drum before the clothes and be done with it. It's literally easier that way plus it's actually the correct way of doing it.
