    Thanks for the garden tour. You asked how we feel about this type of video. I like that you show it mistakes and all. Like when you planted the tree thw wrong way around on an earlier tour and had to replant. Weve all done similar. Just spent 3 days digging out a bamboo which was trying to take over the world despite a barrier. If you could perhaps include some how too bits, unusual plants we might like a go at and design suggestions. A help Q and A episode perhaps? Dont take any of this as a negative viewing your vids are a Sunday treat.

      Thank you for all those great suggestions. Of course I don't take it amiss ☺️ There is plenty of food for thought there. That bamboo sounds a nightmare. I will start collecting questions for a q&a again. It's been a while.

    Rachel, greetings from Kentucky. Your garden is so beautiful. I totally understand what you said about growing roses. I have six David Austin roses in my garden and sadly because we in my state have had such a wet Spring (and it's raining today as well), three of my roses have already lost all their foliage due to blackspot and rust. I have to constantly spray my roses. It's making me rethink growing roses. I might consider removing some and replacing the space with lilies and peonies. Happy gardening, James

      Greetings back from Wexford to Kentucky. Yeah, that rose spraying really isn't worth it and it's bad for the environment. It is a pity but we have to be pragmatic about these things.

    Love the garden walkabout videos, there are many new ( to me) plants to see, and the colors of flowers and leaves is so interesting to look at. Also chuckled at the inscrutable Maoi statue, I have a small one too 🗿 Thank you for the tour, now off to look up that lovely Roscoea humeana ! 🌿

    your channel popped on my screen, watched it and I love the Jovellana violacea - I googled it here in Western Canada and the english name is violet teacup... i don't think if I see this plant here at all but enjoy your video for the first time. thank you

      You are very welcome to the channel. Violet teacup is a really descriptive name for this bush. I just love it. This Chilean bush is rare here in Ireland too but I just love unusual plants. I hope you find it in Canada. Happy growing!

    I really like seeing your garden tours and especially what you can grow in a rainy environment. We have been getting really lots of rain this spring in central Germany, as well...a bit of a pain if you ask me... Slugs demolished my cosmos seedlings. What do you do to control slug damage?

    • @GardeningatDouentza
      @GardeningatDouentza  3 месяца назад +1

      It's hard to know where we stand at all with this climate change. Sorry to hear about your seedlings. Slugs are really bad here this year but I'm not sure I have any great solutions. Copper tape, around the necks of pots or across the greenhouse doorjam helps. Beer traps make them die happy. Egg shells or horticultural grit as a barrier. Place pots on a bed of grit to stop slugs climbing up the drainage hole. Hope these help.
