I love the Beatles interviews. It's like Oh no we have to sit down in front of a mic and camera answer a bunch of dumb questions in front of media audience again. Lets think of some funny stuff to say. LOL
Isn't that interesting what Paul says... in England it's easier to say what you'd like without having it turned against you... but in America it's harder to say what you'd like without having it turned against you.
This video is telling: many of the social controversies about celebrities and what they say in public are the same now in the age of social media and the 24-hour news cycle as they were back in 1960s. The machines have gotten smarter; human beings are the same.
did anyone notice that while brian was alive and still there manager, he was on his best beahvior, then when brian died john said whatever he wanted in interviews!
"Clap!!!" she whispers. "George Harrison has just said something!! Clap!!!" the crowd claps. (: only he can will people to appreciate him with his mind :)
Funny thing is that the last question Paul gets asked for concerns his then recently purchased farm located at the Mull Of Kintyre that he will immortalize 11 years later
@iPuffin I think George was simply saying that musicians never stop learning to play their instruments. Even BB King hasn't learned to "master" the guitar. It's always a work in progress.
You can tell listening to this interview that they(except Paul) got fed up with touring and interviews and the press/media asking stupid ass questions.
Q: "A couple of years ago, you said that you were most influenced by people such as Chuck Berry, Laverne Baker, etcetera. Now that they're more or less over the hill as far as pop music is concerne, who do you admire now? You mentioned Indian music-- Are there any pop stars in the United States today that still influence you?" JOHN: "We like alot of American groups, still, you know. We still like Chuck Berry... I haven't burned his records or anything." Genius.
What we see here is the Beatles reaching the apex of worldly success and trying to say that you can't get any bigger, in terms of worldly success, than they've gotten. So please (they are begging, if you only have ears to hear), quit asking us about things that are outside our field of interest or expertise. But they did not hear, did not listen. So we had to endure decades more of ex-Beatles (and other far-lesser pop stars) pontificating on issues religious and political which are beyond their areas of competence.
i love how Ringo looks bored out of his mind while Paul's doing his talking and flirting thing. Then whenever George talks people clap. xD Maybe because they were lucky to hear the quiet one speak :3
@beatlepaulandjenn79 because when George spoke he was rarely flippant like the others he was very opinionated and spoke well,,, look at Lennon fully attentive when George speaks! By 66 he wasnt the quiet one I would say ringo was.
Ringo's like omg just shoot me in the head.. Paul looked bored even though he talked most of the time John was too a little and George was saying some deep stuff :D
How come Paul McCartney is the only man who can wear unflattering colours (horrible yellow here, orange shirt during the Lady Madonna sessions, pink costume during the Mad Day Out) and still look sexy and virile in it? What's your secret, Paul?
@LadyScorpio39 If you take the whole interview, he doesn't actually talks so much, or not much more as the other ones (yeah, probably more than george and ringo for this one though), it is only the way the video has been made that it seems Paul is always talking... But yeah, I think you are partly right, because John ironically said Paul was the best PR man, or something like that... I guess that for some people he gave a better image of the Beatles, not just like a band of mad and rebel rockers
This is like that game when they give you the answer/s and you have to guess the question. Can't hear what the journalists are saying! Worth watching though, just to see them ( in colour).
Not really, the Beatle line-up is always John first then Paul, then George and then Ringo. That's the actual order, it doesn't matter that Paul write beautiful songs, it has nothing to do.
it was more a thing of the time, listen to the video called 'the beatles last interview' i think here on yt, john and paul talk about freedom of speecha little bit and john says how unrealistic it is for them to come to america nd not mention vietnam.
I agree with Ringo.
Ringo was thinking "i´d like to be, under the sea... hey ...thats a good line!"
Paul just LOVES to start sentences with, "Well, (You know) the thing is..."
That thing that Ringo said was really fantastic.
I love how George just sits there, watching silently, then out of nowhere comes out with the wittiest thing you can think of.
I love how everytime Paul says something funny or feels a bit ashamed he winks :D NO ONE CAN WINK LIKE HE DOES!
"Sorry, Johnny."
"It's alright, Paulie."
Aww, they're so cute. :)
George turns to John like: now why are they clapping for ?
*Paul says something* press is silent.
*John says something* press is laughing.
*George says something* the press loves it and claps for him.
John is the smart one.
Paul is the cute one.
George is the quiet one.
Ringo is not allowed to speak in interviews.
I can't help but stare at Ringo the whole time. He just looks so bored. xD
Lol! I love how George said something and the press just starts clapping!
Mustard yellow is an excellent color for Paul.
they look so tired of it all, compare it to a 1963 interview!
george might not talk much. but when he does...
John is blinking a lot. He needs his glasses on.
George looks extra handsome in this one.
Paul is like sooo tired of the people making big deals out of innocent things you can tell he just looks sad...poor Paul
John's hair is beautiful :)
Paul has such perfect eyebrows.
beatlemania 1966 was taking its toll
I love the Beatles interviews. It's like Oh no we have to sit down in front of a mic and camera answer a bunch of dumb questions in front of media audience again. Lets think of some funny stuff to say. LOL
poor Ringo, no one asking HIM any questions. i feel like taking him out of that room and giving him a whole list of questions just for HIM to answer.
omg....paul mccartney was the most beautiful man ever!
Isn't that interesting what Paul says... in England it's easier to say what you'd like without having it turned against you... but in America it's harder to say what you'd like without having it turned against you.
Omg Paul's Description of america XD
It wasn't terribly long after this that John started wearing his glasses full time
john was so handsome then...
This video is telling: many of the social controversies about celebrities and what they say in public are the same now in the age of social media and the 24-hour news cycle as they were back in 1960s. The machines have gotten smarter; human beings are the same.
George rules
wheres the bit about ringos drumming :D
did anyone notice that while brian was alive and still there manager, he was on his best beahvior, then when brian died john said whatever he wanted in interviews!
they look happy and relaxed in this one, not bored out of their minds as in some other interviews :)
i like how they talk about John's "bigger than Jesus" comment for the majority of the interview, then at the end Paul starts talking about his farm.
"Clap!!!" she whispers. "George Harrison has just said something!! Clap!!!" the crowd claps. (: only he can will people to appreciate him with his mind :)
I wish I could run up 2 Ringo and give him some chips and a cross word puzzle
paul=adorable john=hysterical george = deep ringo=sweet
This was @ The Warwick Hotel in 1966. Later that night they played Shea for a 2nd. time. Only they knew that this would be the last tour.
Funny thing is that the last question Paul gets asked for concerns his then recently purchased farm located at the Mull Of Kintyre that he will immortalize 11 years later
I LOVE John he's the best! :)

wow, the picture quality was really good in this video. great job mr.john!
The 66 interviews were great esp when they were in colour as the lads by this time were wearing fab gear!!
All the same when you watch the 66 interviews when George spoke the rest of the band listened intently as well.
John, Paul, George, and Apple I love 'em all :)
hahah claps for george.
Love Paul's winks ;-D
The colour interviews in 66 were great as the lads fashion was cool

Genius.

How come Paul McCartney is the only man who can wear unflattering colours (horrible yellow here, orange shirt during the Lady Madonna sessions, pink costume during the Mad Day Out) and still look sexy and virile in it? What's your secret, Paul?
The Warwick Hotel. NYC. That evening they played Shea Stadium.
Lennon : "two more cokes!" LOL !!
oh Ravi can play the sitar...so could George.

I was expecting ringo to make some good points but he didn't say anything
Paul, he was the spokesman
thats cool Brian Epstein is in the background
george is like the saver of the group he opens his mouth at the ryt moment for the ryt tym hehe
I am French, I understand a word they say it just to hear their voices.
I really want Paul's shirt....
Oh Paul
Not really, the Beatle line-up is always John first then Paul, then George and then Ringo. That's the actual order, it doesn't matter that Paul write beautiful songs, it has nothing to do.
Paul always was the original MEAN MISTER MUSTARD!
They playfully turned the world.

Omg Paul was kept itching his face at the beginning of the interview,, hahaahaha
@Msgummybear202 Because, everything he says means a lot. He doesn't just blabber on all the time.

Ringo is too stoned to talk
There was never was a quiet Beatle, no such person.
it was more a thing of the time, listen to the video called 'the beatles last interview' i think here on yt, john and paul talk about freedom of speecha little bit and john says how unrealistic it is for them to come to america nd not mention vietnam.
