A new texture to their feed might take a while for them to get used to, or like you said, maybe they just are not hungry. Always good to try something new. Thanks for the video.

Get the 900 twin if you have not bought and are going to buy. You wont regret. Got a used 900 twin to replace a 700 single 5 years ago and love it. 10 times the machine the 700 single was and holds 1/2 again as much. Grind up 1500# of straw or hay bales and mix with a silage. At most, only a couple minutes waiting, just fill with grain, roughage, minerals and silage, mixed well by the time we get to cow groups. Can pull ours with a 100 hp FWA tractor, but even small hills in any kind of snow in the winter suck.

I wonder if the cost of equipment and hours on the tractor in front of the mixer will pay off when it comes to beef cattle. Will be interesting to see that part of it if the experiment continues.

@purplerunner1715 feeding a proper balanced ration, the cost of savings in a tmr ration using cheaper feeds as a filler alone is worth the investment. Far less less time to feed when feeding with a large wagon. And there is lots of depreciated out equipment out there with lots of life left to use. To each their own. COP is everything, but you also can not rob Peter to pay Paul. With TMR, COP costs can be figured to the penny. Cheaper feeds can be subtitued and turned into palatable feeds, There is zero waste if using bunks, and ALL cows get a balanced ration. JMHO
