Professor… wizards is making a Collectors Edition Commander Decks for Modern Horizons 3.. im sure many magic the gathering players want to know.. what is your opinion about this new thing they are doing?
Hey, professor or team, I got a question: When you do shuffle up and play. Is it just one game a session or multiple games in a session like this one with one more mana.
One More Mana is my ideal edh pod. This is a perfect example of how this format should be played and how the players should act. Play to win but have fun and not get salty about anything
@@jacobd1984 You are absolutely correct. It seems to be a major issue plaguing EDH in it's casual variant. All the other formats are 1 vs 1 so they tend to be much more competitive by nature. It's not an issue with Cedh at all comparatively.
I think it's important to note that the power difference in the decks isn't too bad. Feldon does a lot in one go but has a ton of setup. No plays or decks felt out of place or uncalled for
Tragic Arrogance is busted, but it's even better if you can cast it from beyond the grave! IIRC, you can select the same card more than once if it meets more than 1 criterion, meaning if they have an Artifact Enchantment Creature out, you can select that for 3 permanent types if you wish. it's a really obnoxious card vs decks that try to do stuff with card type, and if you've got an artifact land out when this gets cast, guess which artifact they're going to pick!
You know, I really love how Derik builds a lot of his decks, and how many synergistic cards he can get in to work so perfectly with his commander. I have Feldon in a handful of commander decks that I built as a red source of reanimating (Lord Windgrace, Prossh, etc...,) but I never thought of using Feldon as a commander and adding so many good etb & attack trigger cards to amplify what he can do. I've seen Derik with a few decks over the years, and I gotta say, I really respect the work he puts into each one.
I live in Argentina. We had 11% per WEEK a few months ago, and now we're down to a comfortable 3% per week - in other words, insanely high. Take it from me: you get used to it. At some point you just learn to live with inflation and adapt your finances to it.
Love the extra commentary pop-ups; i love watching you with these guys, and i was super curious for “the misplay game” as soon as i saw their other episode
I love that, in addition to there being an Agumon card, I'm glad someone else noticed. Plus, the first card/table didn't have proper collision physics and clipped through the table. LoL
Love this format of content. It's great way to keep people engaged. I came into looking for just missed triggers, but was pleased to see other little tidbits. And One More Mana, such great guests wherever they end up. The petty and humor and janky card choice brings me joy. HOWEVER, as a gaulent of power player myself, it is universal so all players mountains tap for an additional and red creatures get buffs.
I love all the lore corrections about Feldon.... thank you editors. Staying on flavor in table talk is truly the most important part of any game of commander
The misplay episodes are great in that they help my playgroup learn from certain situations. Please keep putting these out, they are endlessly entertaining and, perhaps more importantly, very very informative. TCC 201: Rules Interactions M 12:00PM
For the first half of the episode, I was very curious why this was a Misplay episode, compared to last time's smorgasporg. But it really reveals how different a game can go with just two life on a single player, triggered in such a way that there's really no reason you'd catch it after the fact without a camera.
I’m SO GLAD everyone knows how to play tempt with discovery. Declining the tempt is always correct because then the tempt player spent 4 mana for a tapped land. Well done the table!!
Im new to commander and wanted to watch gameplay. I was worried I wasn't going to be able to follow, but the zoom in on cards and explanations really helped.
Correct me if im wrong, but misplay on Gaunlet of Power as well? Other players should get the extra mana too. Regardless, good episode. Funny as hell! This is the epitome of how casual Commander games are meant to be played!
You are correct, its a global effect so all red creatures would get +1/+1 and any basic mountains would tap for two red including creatures and lands opponents control. So Ced has two mountains that can benefit and Ken has one. also Ced's Black and Red Avatar tokens would get +1/+1. So they would have dealt an extra 1 damage to Prof and Derrick from the attack.
So happy to see another misplay episode. Loved the “off” intro. I think it would be funny for these misplay episodes to also have different sound effects too - like a squeak toy for damage, jalopy horn for life gain, etc.
I think the spirit of rule zero demands videos with misplays go up! Anything short of a game where everyone scoops anyways. The called shot that Ken would do nothing then run away with it is sooo funny 😭😭😭
I don't usually watch commander play videos because I would rather be playing Commander for an hour, but I must say I am very impressed with all the info tidbits and good pace of chatter. This was definitely easy to watch. Nice job!
Thanks for putting out these misplay vids, Prof! Don't think of them as mistakes, think if them as opportunities to grow!🌈😂 And you gotta love the One More Mana crew! They always bring a lot of fun to anything they're involved with. It's sad that this came out a few days after Akira Toriyama's passing; i'm sure the guys are feeling down... To all the DBZ fans, and to all fans of his work, a heavy RIPower to the greatest.
You should definitely watch some of their content or EDH games, they're a pretty funny group of people and their games are almost always fun to watch 😊
I think it is so important to show you can make mistakes and still have a fun. enjoy seeing all the one more mana games and appreciate all the content you give us
ken winning with the most unsynergistic pile of good cards is so infuriating ☠️ i would only target him all the time that aside, i love these shuffle up and misplay vids 🥳 the editing is so fantastic
Thats a fairly stronk commander, and would defo make him a threat. By not playing it he was lowkey sneaking by each turn, by copying their own creatures. 😂 Ken is actually 10 steps ahead of them all.@@Dark-Pikachu1
Objection! Since you're keeping track of life totals as if Ced is alive, that should include his own - he spends a good portion of his postmortem game at 11 life ...Nevermind, "Still Dead" is the best life total
Honestly, misplays are a part of magic, lol. It's great seeing them acknowledged, but it's also important that we don't pretend they don't happen so the video going up is a win-win. (Also, Onemoremana's banter is always on point, damn)
I feel like Ken's entire game plan is to live long enough for someone else to become the threat, and then ramp while they tank for him. Honestly peak commander strategy.
I appreciate you uploading these, they are good teaching opportunities for new players. Also, even the best magic players make mistakes sometimes. Its fun to look back on your mistakes every now and then!
I have never seen an entire table refuse a tempt with discovery before! FIRST MISPLAY! Interestingly though it was misplayed as the way tempt is worded the first player searches for a land first, before the table then decide if they want to fetch a land. So the rest of the players can decide to decline if the tempt player gets a combo land like dark depths for example.
Unless an interaction is vital to the resolution of the game, I'm all for just going with your best judgement to keep the game flowing. If there is a disagreement and you need to know, then look it up, otherwise, if all can agree, just proceed with play.
me waching the episode: "oh this doesn't have that much misplays compared to the other misplays episode..." me later: "oh... so basicaly EVERYTHING FROM MINUTE 45 IS WRONG !" still hilarious and fun to watch
I'm over here like how did he not realize he died, and then remembered I had to sacrifice 43 Squirrels with Korvold and Liliana Dread on the field ultimately decking myself 😂😂😂
I would do very much to just be in this room. This table talk reminds me so much of how me and my friends behave and it's perfect. Excellent game, excellent company. Thanks!
Oh, found another one, teach! ✋When you resolve Tempt with Discovery, the person who cast it gets their first land and puts it onto the battlefield BEFORE anyone decides if they're going to be tempted. The opponents will know what the land is when they make their decision.
Honestly this is the best game on the show I’ve seen in a while it doesn’t matter to me about the misplay no one caught it and triggers were missed. What I love about this episode is the people and power level of their decks. So funny and I absolutely loved this gameplay thank you for posting!
Considering the premise of this episode are the amount of rules errors, I'm quite excited that one of the players doesn't know how to resolve a mulligan.
I love love love these episodes, not only does it just show the reality of playing magic (it’s impossible to play perfectly) but I find the Jibs and Jabs in the bubbles among the more hilarious things on a gameplay video.
LOL 56:50 My decks are the same way. Secret tech: Let others check your deck out and they will put all the cards right side up for you, that's how a savage plays ;)

This is one of the funnier episodes, I don't think their is anything wrong with putting up these, especially with the funny editor's commentary.

Really really. We need more laughs in the world and this episode just kept them coming 😂
*there is anything
I agree though
Lol I'm like 12 minutes into the video and just have been laughing the entire time

This sign can't stop me because I'm comboing off
I enjoy the misplay episodes. Glad you decide to release them instead of having them lost to time.
Same. And the Popup Video format is genius, really!
Oh wow, I can't unsee that the Ced/Derik POV cam is focusing on the chair
neither could we.

On brand for a misplay episode tho!

OMG the explanation of what a joke is after Ken's lmao. Prof, this format of episode needs to be a staple moving forward
I will watch One More Mana as often as you can give them to us. Best guests on the show, every time.
Yes. Correct. They're hooligans
"Your Dreams Die Here At Tolarian Community College" Put this on t-shirt asap lol
That Large 10 piece hits me right in the feels, 20% inflation is brutal.
This really hit me too. $6.49 to $8.69 in about 2 years hurts.
It's not inflation, it's price gouging.

RIP auto focused chair. You were the best of us
I think it's actually focusing on the bookshelf but those are in roughly the same focal plane
I love the small trivia things like the sol rin win rate and the Feldon lore. Or the deep lore about prof favourite x-man.
This episode had me reading about the Brothers' War, the Cylex Explosion and the Ice Age for like 2 hours last night.
I'm just glad we got the thesaurus entry of 'joke' instead of 'flash' or 'nudist'.
I do have to point out its the dictionary entry for joke not thesaurus
Something seems off about your intro this time, prof…
