    His drumming on Nola is criminally underrated.

    Nola always felt like the long awaited, much needed sequel to Garage Days.....not a single song that made you fast forward, but if you did, you rewound to it later, over and over.....a roller coaster of heavy

    Great interview, David -- killer questions. Jimmy is a swell cat. I've known him since around 1990, when my boy Brian joined EHG, & I was in Apostasy. Before I knew him, I saw him perform once w/ Blantant Frustration, who he mentioned in the interview. It was the 1st gig I ever attended, in 1987! They & Nuclear Crucifixion (pre- Soilent Green) opened for Incubus (the one w/ the 'Serpent Temptation' LP). I was sucked in, the same way Jimmy had been a few years before. Really great times back then -- everyone was cool. All that mattered was the music & cuttin' up, havin' a good time. Not a worry in the world.
    You asked about early Down gigs. I have their very first one here on my channel if interested:

    Regarding the EHG show w/ Dale on drums, I spoke to Jimmy about it a few days after it took place. He told me that Dale only had 3 brief rehearsals w/ them before that show, which makes the performance that much more remarkable. Joey (aka Lil Daddy -- RIP) looked up to Dale big time. Huge influence on him. I'm really glad Dale came through for that.

      how does it feel to you knowing that they got famous and you are left behind musically? that they are champions of nola and nobody remembers you. do you feel envy or wished you were on their position with 1000000 Fans worldwide?

    Been watching the best shirts and my favourite is my eyehategod one signed by Mike when they opened for Black Label Society and then bam found this video. It is the thirty year shirt, the design looks amazing and fits perfectly. Great video and great band!

    Huge Bower fan......got to open for both EHG and Superjoint, (and Crowbar, Fu Manchu, etc). Superjoint was during the DC Sniper nightmare ugh. I was waiting for the Randall question, and it happened! ha Swamp metal? uh, solid state Randall! Great interview and Bower is as real as it gets. Thanks!

      @@butchvito
      Technically Down isnt actice either. Superjoint discussed a 4th record amd Jimmy Bower specifically mentioned a Superjoint EP right nefore Phils quote about Superjoint.
      I wanted to hear Jimmys take on Superjoint. Question....Are they on hold or done permanently?? My guess is they are on the back burner as all 5 guys are still friends.

    • @butchvito
      @butchvito 4 года назад

      @@integrity101 - Well, no bands are active if you want to look at it that way. But Down were scheduled to a handful of shows in 2020. Phil has said in an interview last year that he has no interest in Superjoint anymore. That's a band that comes and goes.

    • @integrity101
      @integrity101 4 года назад

      @@butchvito
      Yea i know all that but Jimmy said right before that interview that Superjoint was discussing a new EP. All these bands go on hold when another band is active. That is part of the nature if being in multiple bands. Phil was never asked a follow up to elaborate and Jimmy was never asked. So i was looking to hear Jimmys feelings on one if his bands.

    What happened to all the other episodes in this series? I thought there was over 50. I was still making my way thru them to find only a couple are still up.
