Game 5 was just as crazy as Delfino Maza 2023 Gluttony vs Ken game 4. That was absolutely incredible and easily goes down as one of the highlights of the year for me in terms of Smash Bros content
@@Alibaba-id1cs Wario has one of if not the best comeback mechanics in the game and ken was running away for no reason, allowing gluto to get multiple wafts. Matchup wise, Gluto's comeback was definitely crazier, but considering the fact that tweek just threw out a side b with no jump offstage (with regrab), misinput side b forcing him to airdodge up, super armored through spindash at 200 to barely kill sonix, and the fact that diddy is much much lighter than wario, I'd say the comeback was comparable to gluto's
@@Alibaba-id1cs Gluto had waft and Ken on the 3rd stock was one back air away to take the stock, basically he just had to delete one stock in the honest way, while Tweek was 2 stocks down against SONIX, the one that would not have allowed the Gluto's comeback, just pure hard reads
That must have been hilarious! I watched his stream earlier in the tournament; he started laughting and said ''what the fuck'' when he saw Zomba using Pit against Miya, which was also great.
That game 5 was hands down the most amazing, magical and inspirational comeback ever. Sonix plays like a machine, he is so consistent, that the idea of reverse 3-stocking him seems surreal. Tweek is the GOAT man, I'm sorry Mexico but no other player has this magic.
@@Nandezaron Nahh it’s true though. The story lines are among the best. Every region in the world is trying to dethrone Japan, who’s never been the best region in any recent smash title. Old goats like Marss, Tweek, Light and Leo working hard to keep up w this new generation (Tweek finally beating Miya, and having a consistent back and forth w Sonix, Marss beating the Frick out of Miya at Supernova, Light being able to hang with the top having good wins on Sparg0, Sonix, and Miya, and Leo taking Acola to game 5 at Umebura and Supernova, and having a good set record on Sparg0). Sparg0 the best player during quarantine and consistent number 2 since coming back trying to desperately claim his number 1 spot but having just tiny instances of under performance. Sonix, the most disciplined and probably best player in the world who has yet to win a major in 2024. Like oh my gosh there’s just way too many storylines the game feels so back.
32:47 right after tweek launched sonix towards the blast zone he still had it in mind to pull a banana. Just goes to show that tweek was still mentally in the game even after victory was secure
That last game amazing clutch was probably what gave Tweek the tournament, had he lost that, not only he would’ve had to go through Leo and Light, but also reset the bracket against Sonix, which would’ve been incredibly difficult
As someone who hates fighting both of these characters I have immense respect for both of these guys for putting on such an amazing set. That last game is going down in the history books.
Funny witnessing this a few days after Tweek expressing concerns about Ultimate being kinda dead and not as exciting as before. It's probably a bit true, but glad to see that the game can still produce incredibly tense and hype moments like that. Never been the biggest fans of both players/characters, but these last two minutes had my heart pounding so hard, I was dying lmao
😂😂😂 i really wanted sonix to win but they both play really good at the end tweek got the has won.. Very good for him .. I really like tweek at lot so i feel good for the set. Congratulations for tweek
Spoiler: So happy Tweek took this tournament! I know Sonix is an amazing player but I’m just not a ssbu Sonic fan. Tweek played amazing against Sonix and despite Sonix not really SDing at all in all 3 sets, Tweek took the reset of grand finals pretty handily.
Glad tweek won, glad sonix lost. Guy either stalls or travels back and forth like he has houses on both sides of the stage, trash WiFi activities. So glad he lost.
I think he missed input the strong spin shot and tried to salvage it with an air dodge to get back to stage. Or he just wanted to mix up the recovery but it backfired, unlikely tho.
Yes, he used dj (watch for the little circle of air). Even if he hadn’t, Sonix would reversal him. So either way Tweek was dead if he misses, but yes he had to hit that or it would probably be an sd. Honestly he won with sheer willpower right here. Usually trying to straight up force it doesn’t work, but Sonix couldn’t hold it down this time.
The one he uses in the second stock of the last game? He could’ve recovered and made it back 100%, but it was still kinda a risk it all moment because Sonix would’ve been put in a really good spot to punish him for it
Sonix insists Sonic beats Diddy but I just don't see it. I mean even Tweek who downplays his characters thinks it's a good mu... And in all honesty he's been a little ahead of Sonix in the h2h.
I think Sonix wins the majority of their sets The much seems even but unforgiven when it comes to mistakes It is hard when sonic has the lead but tweek literally made 3 stock cameback Idk about that
The h2h is 5-4 in Tweek's favor for the year: Tweek beat him twice at Luminosity makes big moves 2024.(2-0) Sonix beat him at Genesis X.(2-1) Sonix beat him at Lvl up Expo 2024.(2-2) Tweek beat him at GOML X.(3-2) Sonix beat him at Supernova 2024.(3-3) Tweek wins their first set at Luminosity makes moves Miami 2024.(4-3) Sonix wins their second set.(4-4) Tweek wins their last set of the tournament.(5-4) Anyway, I'm one of the people who thinks Sonic doesn't truly lose any matchups. He has even matchups(ex:Aegis), slightly winning matchups(ex:Steve), convincingly winning matchups(ex:Game&Watch) and unlosable matchups(ex:Ken).
The skill gap at which tweek needs to play to beat sonix in that match up is ridiculous. Sonics tool kit make his neutral almost impossible. Tweek needs to force scrambles and beat a character with better Frame data in those scrambles.
Game 5 will go down as one of the greatest clutches in this games history
