Brandon was pretty much paying homage to Christopher reeves when he played Superman in that movie, he couldn't have played it any better .. the writers of that movie messed up, not him🤷🏿♂️
You can't deny Brandon had a striking resemblance to Christopher Reeve.....something about those facial expressions and mannerisms were almost like a reflection of Reeve at times. For what it was he really did an incredible portrayal of Christopher Reeves version and for the most part the movie performed well

Say what you will about the finished product, but Routh definitely nailed the Reeve-factor for his incarnation of Clark in "Superman Returns". Too bad his turn in the cape has been so underrated. Pug Life Well not me. I find Man of Steel to have a beautiful epic soundtrack made by Hans Zimmer himself. It’s a different take on Superman and I’d argue it’s an even better version. Man of Steel is the one that REALLY made me love the character when previous movies and shows didn’t.

Superman in the DCEU is a realistic interpretation, he has to overcome obstacles before he becomes the Superman we all know and love. It’s called character development.
Henry and Brandon are both good actors and to me i have no favoristism. Henry seems to be getting into “the character” which is also nice. But Brandons acting hit me diffrently, i just look at him and i see him how he resembles how Superman should be acting in such way.
I’ve been a fan of superman actors since George Reeves who portrayed Superman in the TV series from the 1960’s and I have to say..Brandon Routh’s rendition is the absolute best I’ve ever seen. Superman Returns is by far my favorite superman story.

Batman Begins and Superman Returns should’ve started the DC Cinematic Universe. Warner Brothers made a mistake not combining the two worlds together. Both movies were one year apart from each other. Both movies were fresh on Rotten Tomatoes with fans and critics. Both movies looked and felt like they could’ve been in the same universe. Both movies brought the two most popular superheroes back on the big screen after a long hiatus. Superman Returns referenced Gotham City. Not to mention, it grossed more money at the box office than Batman Begins whose sequels went on to hit the one billion dollar mark. I Am Legend teased a crossover between them for May 2010. The billboard in Times Square had Bale’s Batman logo and Routh’s Superman logo merged together.
No, they shouldn't. Batman Begins was set in a grounded, realistic world, whereas Superman Returns was a throwback to the Christopher Reeve Superman films, even the whole plot was done like it was a movie done in the 80's, and, despite making more money than Batman Begins, Warner knew that people in general didn't like it at all, hence why they didn't move forward with a sequel. That tease in I Am Legend was just a joke on the fact that the crossover movie was never going to happen.
As a Fan of Superman, Routh reminded me to what Reeve's portrayal & Brandon made Reeve alive on this Movie. Meaning, Reeve is the Standard Appearance of Clark Kent/Superman & for that, i don't think that I'll Love Cavill's portrayal, ever. Sorry but for me, Superman is only for Reeve & Routh. No offense to Henry, but the Looks he has is for Millennials who haven't seen the previous Superman Movies 🎥 😁
I agree that Brandon really felt almost like seeing Reeve again. Well, Cavill is a different interpretation of Superman, i would say. It sort of reminded me of the Dragonball Z manga, which has a similar "alien lives on earth as one of them" sort of story. Or at least the action sequences really looked inspired in Dragonball Z..
DC and MARVEL no one has looked or sounded more like Reeves than Brandon. He could have been great but the script is what blew it. Not him. There was a bit when you heard his voice but didn’t see him and I had to stop and listen. I thought somehow they, were using Reeves voice.
I totally agreed with you DC & Marvel! Also as a huge Superman fan, both Reeve & Routh portrayed Superman exceptionally well in all aspect from acting, talking, and donning the Superman uniform. Henry Cavill on the other hand...I don't know...it doesn't scream that Superman vibe to me. Plus the fact that I'm not a fan of MOS uniform compare to ether Reeve or Routh Superman uniform. DC should've kept Routh for Man Of Steel/ Dawn of Justice/Justice League.

i think people had more issues with the actual movie itself rather than Brandon’s performance as superman.
but as for the people who don’t like brandon himself, i agree it’s very odd. but to be honest i actually prefer him as Ray Palmer. so sweet and awkward yet heroic. he’s just a riot! it might sound odd but personally i am not really upset that Superman didn’t work out for him. i think Ray palmer was his true calling ☺️

Henry and Brandon are both good actors and to me i have no favoristism. Henry seems to be getting into “the character” which is also nice. But Brandons acting hit me diffrently, i just look at him and i see him how he resembles how Superman should be acting in such way.
I’ve been a fan of superman actors since George Reeves who portrayed Superman in the TV series from the 1960’s and I have to say..Brandon Routh’s rendition is the absolute best I’ve ever seen.

Batman Begins and Superman Returns should’ve started the DC Cinematic Universe. Warner Brothers made a mistake not combining the two worlds together.
Both movies were one year apart from each other. Both movies were fresh on Rotten Tomatoes with fans and critics. Both movies looked and felt like they could’ve been in the same universe. Both movies brought the two most popular superheroes back on the big screen after a long hiatus.
Superman Returns referenced Gotham City. Not to mention, it grossed more money at the box office than Batman Begins whose sequels went on to hit the one billion dollar mark.
I Am Legend teased a crossover between them for May 2010. The billboard in Times Square had Bale’s Batman logo and Routh’s Superman logo merged together.
No, they shouldn't. Batman Begins was set in a grounded, realistic world, whereas Superman Returns was a throwback to the Christopher Reeve Superman films, even the whole plot was done like it was a movie done in the 80's, and, despite making more money than Batman Begins, Warner knew that people in general didn't like it at all, hence why they didn't move forward with a sequel. That tease in I Am Legend was just a joke on the fact that the crossover movie was never going to happen.

I agree that Brandon really felt almost like seeing Reeve again. Well, Cavill is a different interpretation of Superman, i would say. It sort of reminded me of the Dragonball Z manga, which has a similar "alien lives on earth as one of them" sort of story. Or at least the action sequences really looked inspired in Dragonball Z..
DC and MARVEL no one has looked or sounded more like Reeves than Brandon. He could have been great but the script is what blew it. Not him. There was a bit when you heard his voice but didn’t see him and I had to stop and listen. I thought somehow they, were using Reeves voice.
I totally agreed with you DC & Marvel! Also as a huge Superman fan, both Reeve & Routh portrayed Superman exceptionally well in all aspect from acting, talking, and donning the Superman uniform. Henry Cavill on the other hand...I don't know...it doesn't scream that Superman vibe to me. Plus the fact that I'm not a fan of MOS uniform compare to ether Reeve or Routh Superman uniform. DC should've kept Routh for Man Of Steel/ Dawn of Justice/Justice League.
