Ah, good. Great. Didn't spill it all over my maf and engine bay. The clip is soo... Tough tho. But finally my fuel is getting filtered again. Had a different filter with a connection on top for something I haven't figured out yet. From the bottom of my Alfas heart, thank youuu
Very helpful Tony. Managed to do mine without removing the MAF sensor. I can see yours is fitted correctly, but just thought I would mention that the little hooked part of the bracket at the top fits around the bleed screw housing and helps to hold the filter in the right position whilst the securing bracket is tightened. Just a tip to add to those viewing your video. Now I’ve done the oil, fuel, air and pollen filters, just the cam belt and water pump to do now it’s on 73k miles, and this new runabout for my wife should be good to go!
I learn something everyday. I didn't realise diesel engines had such complex fuel filters. Must be to handle fuel pressure. I thought the connecting lines should have been strongly connecting, but as you have shown this is how it is done. Good video Tony.
A quick tip from experience, don't get Diesel on the yellow seal around the electrical connector. In my instance it caused it to swell up and expand. If you do happen to have the same issue, you can buy a 5 way Superseal connector on eBay for a few quid and use the seal from it.
Hello again and thank you for the new videos. I would suggest trying to fix another very common failure: AR Giulietta often refuses to go into 1st when stationary. Sometimes the work around is to go into 2nd and then up to first. Other times I have to let the car roll a bit, while the horns blare behind me! (possible hint: gear linkages). Kind regards, Ramunas/Lithuania .
Thanks for the idea and hope you’re enjoying the new videos. Fortunately I don’t have that problem so it may be a little difficult to fix it, but I’ll definitely note it for the future. I may be doing the front anti roll bar bushes soon, so will have the car up again, so some investigations may be easy to do. I have the annual safety check coming up very soon, so will be doing some videos on that first.
Did you try to change your transmission oil? It's quite common but not only for giulietta, try to change your oil, lubricate your gearbox commands and deactivate your S&S, normally the problem should appear a lot less often
Thank you for the videos you post, you are helping us. I have antifreeze leaks, do you know where it is leaking, do they have a common problem from the factory
Hi Marian. Two primary locations. First one is at the expansion tank (where you top up the coolant) and the second is at the EGR cooler. This is to the right of the engine just above the gearbox. It’s a little awkward to get to but if it’s leaking from there, and you watch it while someone else revs the engine, you may see coolant leaking. Hope that helps. All the best 👍
@@marianmaghila1801 have a good look around and see if you can see any evidence of water leaks. If you can see anything then the problem will be in that area. All the best 👍
Thanks Tony, really appreciate the videos just bought my 1st Alfa Romeo giulietta, ordered all the service part's including this, will be fitting soon. I'm getting a weird noise from this area in low revs stationery and driving, so I'm changing everything and cleaning the MAF sensor, any ideas ? Appreciate your help 👍
Hi Gaz. Congratulations on your G. I guess it depends on what sort of noise it is. It could be many different things, but probably worth checking all the retaining clips on the hoses while you’re doing the MAF and air filter etc. good luck with it. All the best and thanks for watching. 👍

@@vialettotony Hi Tony I had the timing belt replaced on my G, the mechanic said it's a air sound, like you said to check all the pipes from the turbo to the air filter, took of the air box and pipe's thanks to your video 👍👌, anyway no holes or cracks in the housing, still make a noise I can hear from the top air exit pipe the mechanic said it's nothing to worry about but he has never seen it before, so now onto my next fixes the rear wiper, and the Aircon issues mine blows only could on the passenger side it won't go hot like the driver side. Hi mate, my fuel line out of the filter popped itself off today and sprayed diesel all over the inside of the engine bay. I think the grey clip has perished as it didn't click into place as securely as yours did there. Reckon those clips are available to buy individually?
Hi Tom. I’m sure they must be. I’d say to be careful though removing it from the hose as that is likely to be perished too, if the clip is. Have a search around and see what difference there is between just a clip and a replacement hose with the clip included at each end. Hope that helps?? Thanks for watching and subscribing (if you have). Really appreciate it. Let me know how you get on.
The hose itself looks OK but the internals of the clip are loose and it's not sealing properly. Hopefully it's just a case of a replacement clip and a quick installation.
Hello again. It varies between engines, but it states the correct intervals in the owners manual. As a rule of thumb, oil filter should be every year, air filter, every other (depending on mileage of course) and fuel filter is good for about 40k miles I think although I changed mine after 60k and hadn’t really experienced any issues. Definitely recommend checking your service book though for accurate terms??? Hope that helps.
