I was shocked I found 2 of them at an aldi this past Saturday, and best thing about it is that they were reduced on price, clearance mark down. Each one was $13.00.
Man thanks for this review. My mother in law bought mines for me on my birthday. And I'm about to use it for later on for Sunday night football. So excited
Thank you for sharing this info!!! I was just at Aldi reading this box for the gas griddle. I couldn't decide if it was good or not. You have me sold now!!! For just myself this is perfect to experiment on. I want to use the bigger tank too. I can't see constantly replacing a small tank..but I guess that's convenient for camping. Appreciate you sharing!
Im sure some blackstone loyalists will start trashing this video, but I really dont see huge differences between this and the blackstone 17. Drip tray in a different spot. Enjoy !
Thanks. Picked up the last one at my nearby Aldi last month. Now trying to figure out what size grease cup liner to get. Any ideas? So far everything I see on Amazon is wrong size.
I grabbed one for my road trips and beach runs. I also went to Walmart and bought the Blackstone 17" griddle stand and carrying case. I also found a griddle starter kit for $8 @ Aldi's as well... Now I don't have to pack my larger Blackstone for trips...
I have a 22" Blackstone (heavy) but came across this 17" at Aldi and figured it would be great for Summers at the beach. I converted my 22" to a 20lb bottle, and thought I could do the same with the Range Master but the connection at the griddle is different than Blackstones. I need to find an adapter that will fit the Range Master.
That is odd, I am not using anything different regular or adapter wise. This is the hose adapter im using, I have three of them and use across multiple stoves. amzn.to/3KMexfn
@@LittleHouseofBeans I was bypassing the regulator and hooking up to the griddle connection. I have since recanted the idea and purchased a hose which hooks up to the 1lb regulated connection. Thought I'd be able to do the same as with the blackstone but doesnt work that way. The Range Master has a proprietary connection at the griddle connection
you got you're hands on one, that's awesome! I found I needed a cover, so i just added a link in the description for that, along with a link to a silicone mat (the latter im unsure of it's purpose just yet....need some time on that). Enjoy !
I have the Blackstone, I think it’s better for a few reasons. One is the placement of the drip tray, two is the design of the burner which covers a lot more griddle area, and three is just overall build. Also, you’re supposed to wash the griddle top before you start seasoning it. Just the first time. I also doubt it’s a Blackstone because there are a couple of competing brands of the same size griddle.
I had the blackstone 17 a few years back, and yes, I know the drip tray is in the back vs this Aldi knockoff. From what I remember, the blackstone drip tray is larger, but I dont think the placement makes a difference. Beyond that, the build quality is identical. Again, I've owned both. I AM having a hard time finding some kind of silicone or aluminum insert for the range master. Other than those small things, I'm happy to have saved the money, and put it towards a silicone liner and cover. Appreciate your comments and viewership.
I’d be concerned about losing food down that hole inside the actual griddle. I think the major issue for me is the fact that the burner covers so much more area in the Blackstone. The heat distribution just looks much worse in the knock off.
@@susanmidlarsky2571 I cant see 'losing' food down the hole. I've cooked every day since the first day I got it, there are no inconsistencies with heat distro. Im sure blackstone appreciates your loyalty !
I’m glad the griddle is working for you! The design of the burner concerned me from the time I saw it online before your review, while I was looking at possibly buying the Aldi one as a gift. The heat inconsistencies are evident from the time you started seasoning it.
that might be the best question to date, lol. I didn't, but I sat there watching my wife calling. She's relentless and actually got someone to validate they had them in the store, no less two other area stores. I'll have to show her your comment, she's get a massive kick out of it.

that's a steal! at that price, I'd be handing them out as xmas gifts !
Just bought the last one at my neighborhood Aldi today for my husband. Cant wait to try it out.
Wooohoooo!

I have not figured this out yet either.

Thanks for the review, just picked one up. Going to cook breakfast in the morning on it after I season it tonight.

One more thing, the Blackstone is $97 from Walmart, which is what I paid.

Thanks Stu! 😊
Most welcome!
I’ve never had anything stolen from a campsite. Bummed you had that experience.
Back in the day, we just left stuff out on the picnic table. It’s the only time I’ve gotten burned
Hello! Which connection propane tube are you using to attach it to the big propane tank?
sorry for late response. I have three of these - amzn.to/4ewmQtL
Head up, Sam's Club is selling a 22" for $99.98... $20 off. This discount ends June 30, 2024.
run run run!
Nice. But how did you call an Aldi?
