Its people like this guy that makes RUclips a wonderful tool for the DIYer. Many projects seem tougher than what they are.
I was prepared to spend thousands of dollars on new cabinets. But for a fraction of the cost, i got all the tools I needed. I used premium appearance grade wood, took my time, and learned to stop when aggrevated or unsure.... I built and installed a full set of kitchen cabinets and base cabinets that look professional
We're glad to hear that!
Great series of videos if you want to learn how to make kitchen cabinets.
Thank you for watching!
well done. never seen that type of door backing before. clean look and easy.!!!!!! thx for the video
Thanks for watching!
I made some cabinet doors exactly like this using Kreg system. Came out quite well for my first time making shaker doors. Then I started looking at profiles and trying different bits to create an outside profile. Ended up trashing the entire lot and getting some rail and stile bits with ogee inside and round over on the outside to create some really good looking professional cabinet doors. Painted them up using my HVLP gun look amazing. Thanks for giving me the bug :) these are some nice videos. Next up drawer fronts.
Wow It is great when Master Craftsmen like yourself take the time to give a step by step tutorial. Most informative!
I have searched and searched for a video that explains everything simply and easily, but couldn’t find one until now. Thank you for explaining in a very simple to understand way not only what it is you’re doing, but how to do it.
This was a really great video. I was really hesitant to make doors but now I am more confident to try it with my Kregg tools.
Douglas from Trinidad West Indies.
Glad it was helpful!
Excellent explanation and demonstration
Thank you very much
You are welcome!
Kreg is one the most generous companies out there with helpful education like this. Thank you for the series Kreg Tool
Excellent teaching!!
Thank you!
I really appreciate your videos! I'm new to this kind of work. I've been making my wife farmhouse style cabinets and I've learned a lot from your videos. Making the wife happy is good all around. Thank you!
simple tidy & neat. Very Hard to Beat.
Great video
What a great video! Your not only a great wood worker but such a great teacher! I can't thank you enough for all the tips I just learned in the video I'll use forever! THANK YOU again!
What type and size bit do you use for making the ledge on the back for the panel insert?
I've just bought the complete Krueger kit. What you have shown me is great and many thanks
Herbie Herbert Wales UK.
Thank you! I finally finished my kitchen. I did tongue and groove doors, converted my base cabinets into pull out drawers exactly as you showed.... It came out awesome, thanks again :)
Wonderful!
Great video. We are using this to make our cabinet doors for our kitchen remodel. Great teacher and explanation.
I Love Kreg Tools. 😊
to everyone asking... the comments here about 1/4'' rabbet is NOT CORRECT. in the 7th video he says 3/8 inch rabbet bit- just FYI... he is using 1'' x 3'' poplar comes out to (3/4 thick x 2'' 3/4 wide)
KREG is my best friend in my garage. Thanks.
Really great video. Thanks for sharing
3:55 measuring trick is brilliant
Great video
You can't go wrong with pocket hole jigs
What kind of wood did you use for the rails and stiles?
Very good class
You inspire me, awesome video.
sir , you are awesome ...... u make thing easier and the footage is fantastic
I'm inspired! Thanks much.
Love the detail to your video
Awesome video sir. Thank you I have a job to complete and you have given me the confidence to tackle it 👍
This is a great video. This is actually how I do doors except the strips on the back. IMO it’s a cheap look and looks like and after thought. To each his own. Millions of carpenters and everyone will do things alittle different. But for first times this is really great video. Very informative.
i have to thank you for the great job ur doing master u are best luck with ur job i enjoy watching ur video
I love the look but am worried about fastening the panel as opposed to letting it float ... any thoughts on this Gary? thks
Great demonstration thankyou
Great video. I'm making a cabinet and am thrilled I can use my Kreg pocket hole jig with such sharp results.
Awesome work pops; I really enjoyed watching your work.
Genius
I like it
Very good...appreciate your ideas!
Amazing. This makes me want to redo my kitchen cabinet doors!
I did redo mine. It's pretty easy and it's fun to paint them how you want.
Thanks Kreg, I have really enjoyed this Part 1, looking forward to the rest of the Videos and maybe get myself a Jig and some Clamps if i can.

Dont have HD in England but should be able to get them clamps on ebay or amazon.
Thanks.
What router bit did you use?
Love the video...because it truly gives me confidence to build cabinet doors too!
The UK thanks you for saying rebate instead of rabbet. :)
Awesome video!going to start my kitchen as well. But I’m just wondering what size of wood you use in the doors?also what size of screw did you use in this cabinet doors?thanks in advance!
We made the cabinet doors from 3/4"-thick material-poplar in our case. In home centers, you’ll find it sold as “one-by” boards, such as 1x4, 1x6, etc. But the actual thickness of these boards is 3/4".
The correct pocket-hole screw length to join 3/4"-thick material is a 1 1/4"-long screw.
The door panels were made from 1/4"-tjhcik plywood
Are these 1x4’s?
I would appreciate the brand of router you used in this project. Great tutorial. I'm going to try and build my own doors using your tutorial with all of the tools you have used.
Mostly he's using DeWalt power tools. They're good quality, but can be expensive. I would do some more research before starting your project. Don't forget this is a demonstration video to sell Kreg tools. There are much simpler (and better) ways to make shaker style cabinet doors with a saw, a couple of router bits and some glue. Just search youtube for "cabinet doors" and you'll see what I mean.
Thanks for sharing, I can use some tips to make doors on my own.👍
Great video Gary. Thanks for your help!!!
I built a test door using the technique and tools you described. Wife said she does not like the look of the back of the door. I guess I will have to try tongue and grove. I hope it works. I need to build about 20 doors. I have used the Kreg tools on several other projects and really like them.
Yeh I thought the same thing. I think you can buy a router bit that makes a grove, but you would have to do it before assembling the door. Just remember to slide in the piece of wood or glass before the final end piece is screwed into place. ;-)
Oh and if glass paint or stain before as well.
Milledge Hart
Told you before, milledge, don't put your wife in the cupboards, let her out, let her see the outside, she will complain less. 😝
Hello I was just had a question for you I seen you did the kitchen cabinet doors and you use the router to put the debt in the in the frame what router bit did you use so that you can sit the wood down in it
How wide are your rails and style’s
That was one of the best tips I've seen
Thanks
Thank you for the video, for myself I do not like what you have done on the inside but I learn quite a bit and it will be easier for me to use the greg tools I purchased.
What I like about this is that the panel is very deep. If you cut a grove the panel won't be as deep.
One of the best videos... Nice and clean work... Where can I get those magic tools?

i love this video mabuhay ka gary
Sure made that look easy!
what kind of router bit is that
Thanks for sharing this video.
This was an excellent tutorial on building these doors and also using some of the kreg tools!! I am still having trouble knowing how to use my 90° clamp from kreg. My pocket hole kit came with one & then i bought another one that has an L shape piece on it, a little difficult to use.
Awesome video, only thing I would do differently is that I would cut grooves into the stiles and rail and slide the panel in instead of adding moldings to the back. It will look more professional. IMO.
Im doing that now, How do you make it so you dont cut too far and weaken the edges ? 1/2" groove 1 " groove ?
Diozark cut a slot 1/4" in the stile and rail.
I'm going to put in glass, I've been looking for a simple solution. Thank you for the molding idea.
I had the same idea!

Great video brother.
The Kreg pocket joining system is super awesome! Are you gonna paint doors after you install them? I always paint/ stain before adding hardware. Also it's pretty easy to make a jig for concealed hinges, but the one in the video is really nice if doing a ton of doors.
Great series of videos!!! Fantastic information.
1) don't put pocket holes to close to the inside of the frame or else your router will hit your pocket screw when making the rabbet. Don't just center your Kreg jig and make two holes unless you're planning on using a bit that only eats in 1/4th inch into your inside frame (which is cutting it close regarding fitting in the inner plywood piece).
This is a great series!
awesome vídeos.
that trim on the back of the door is hackory
It got the job done. Besides, he needed a reason to use the Kreg Multi-Mark again. It would have actually have been less work to use dados to hold that panel because he used the router anyway to cut that rabbet but the panel would have been less recessed.
May I ask what bit is used for the router to make the groove? If you have a picture of it, that would be awesome. thanks you so much.

Ugh can’t you answer the darn question?
Does the jig help you align the hinges in the cabinet? You didn't show that part.
I'm sorry to say we do not currently have a jig for mounting the cabinets.
What is the size for those moldings that you put in the back. Thanks
Is there a reason he's using the impact drill to drive the screws?
Did he ever mention the width of the rails and stiles?
What type of wood are you using on the Styles and rails?
Poplar
To avoid rips score it with a razor blade . Make a clean cut ever time. Love the video
Your great.. good idea with the foam board
Great video with great instructions and ideas. I can feel a project coming on. Thanks
What size screws were used for attaching the Rails and Stiles? and Also what was the depth (for said screws) set at on the micro jig?
Please contact our team at 800-447-8638 or kregtool.com/help - They will be happy to assist you with this. Thanks!
superb video ... nice job. The alternative to mouldings would be much nicer job. But a great video nonetheless. Thanks!
Could you explain how to set the stop collar for a precise drilling depth please?
Please contact us at TechnicalSupport@kregtool.com or 800-447-8638 - they will be happy to assist you with this. Thanks!
Just curious why not use pine as its less expensive if you are painting it anyways. Does pine take paint different? Id like to take this on but as always I am on a tight budget. Also my cabinets have a front frame so I dont think I can use those cool hinges but wonder if there is another that will hide the hinge from view.
This is great!
What’s the name of the bit inside of the Roter
WHAT KIND OF BOLT DO YOU USE FOR THOSE KREG HOLES ON THE WOOD ?
I ordered the Kreg Euro hinge jig but see that there are lots of different manufactures with different configuratins. What brand name has the same cup size as the Kreg Jig?
Technical Support will be happy to help with this. You may reach them at technicalsupport@kregtool.com or 800-447-8638. Thanks so much!
@@KregToolCompany over 800,000 people have watched this video. It would make more sense for you to contact technical support and post the answer here instead of referring thousands of people to them for the same answer.
I just bought one as well, ordered hinges off Amazon not knowing the cup size. Exact fit. I wasn’t even aware of a cup size difference.
Nice business related tutorial :P
Great craftsmanship, Kreg! Will you do more videos like this in the future?
You mean like the one that auto-played right after this one?
Great video. Kreg, what router bit is Gary using? And what thickness are the face frames? Thank you.
Just wondering, would you recommend using router method instead of using screw method of building a door? I can see why someone want to use screw ( if they don't have money for router equipment. ) What method would be the preferred method?
thanks for the video great job!
Which conceal hinge manufacturer works with the pilot holes of the kreg concealed hinge jig ?
I believe he called them "Euro Hinges", don't know the specific brand.
where can i find a tool at 8:58'' (Blue ones which clips with saw )

Hello. Can you tell me what kind of router bit you are using.
IT IS 3/8'' RABBET BIT-- HE SAYS IT IN THE 7TH VIDEO--- ALSO HE IS USING POPLAR 1X3
Awesome video, really nice explanations, I like gadget for euro hinges, were can I get one from?. Thanks for sharing your knowlage.
You can locate retailers at kregtool.com/retailers. Be sure to check their website or call ahead to confirm availability. Our products are also available through Amazon and kregtool.com
What kind of this wood
What router bit did you use? Thank you
Also. Did you ever say what thickness wood you are using on the styles .. the backing board
For the inset door panels, he used a rabbeting bit with a bearing, allowing them to follow the shape of the door.
The stiles and rails are made from ¾” poplar in this video. In most cases, you would use a ¼” panel insert for doors like this, but some people will step up and use a ½” piece. However, if using a thicker insert, you will need to adjust the depth of the rabbet cut.
Kreg Tool thank you guys. Perfect
IT IS 3/8'' RABBET BIT-- HE SAYS IT IN THE 7TH VIDEO--- ALSO HE IS USING POPLAR 1X3
