Saw a boat "like" these being towed in the rain. My 1st thought was OMG, It's going to get so wet, then remembered IT'S A FREAKING BOAT!!!!! They are like a piece of art, you almost forget!
My dad redid a bunch of old christcrafts on the side for money.I remember soaking all the long planks of mahogany in water trolths......My memories of the 70's.
Itll be a lot of wrk but we have to capture the authentic beautiful sounds of all the motors of all vehicles its a huge part of the immersive experience
The craftsmanship and beauty of these boats is superb, but without that V8 sound it would be like eating a bacon, lettuce , tomato sandwich without Duke’s mayo ! 😊
"Miss Comet" is a classic, I've never seen this sort of design before, pretty amazing. "Miss Geneva" is rare, not too many made. The remakes with the bow thrusters are a joke, if you can't operate a single engine boat, you shouldn't own one. Kudos to Mom and Dad for having PFD's on the little girls @ 4:30. The Chris Craft Commander 19 is the winner, a Dick Avery design. Went on to be the XK-19.
You have good taste! 😎 There might have even been one at this show, but they left before the last day (when this parade takes place). They've surely been at this show in previous years.

I'm guessing its what the boat looks like that makes it fit for the Antique Boat Parade because these are not that old and the ones that are somewhat old have modern engines in them? They are some beautiful boats though

Yeah they’re nice boats, the classic ones. Screw reproductions and I don’t think anyone in this video knows what loud actually is. They’re all stock/lame engines with wet exhaust, not loud.
Talk about dinosaurs running dinosaurs! Jesus Christ! They should’ve been in museums along time ago! Stop torturing people with all that god-awful racket!
Almost any boat with a v8 and thru hull exhaust is gonna be loud. You have the engines exhaust header then maybe 8 inches of straight pipe. Cut the manifolds off your v8 truck and ya it's gonna be loud so hearing that in an ugly wooden boat is nothing special
Most if not all of these have water being injected into the exhaust to muffle the sounds a little...and to stop the exhaust manifolds throwing off enough heat to set the surrounding wood on fire.
I love these boats! These are the "muscle boats" of their era! Beautiful!
Absolutely gorgeous! These are precious works of art and that chopping loud V8 sound takes it through the roof!!!
Dolphin is stunning, i love the tumblehome on the stern

Beautiful wooden boats and beautiful wooden stock guns my 2 favorite things.
What a beautiful noise these old boats make!
Man, the roof on that Sea Deuce is so cool!(~1:40)
The V8 noise adds to the mystique of these beautiful boats !
Love the sound of those old flatheads 😎🇺🇸
The sound of those 21st Century Ilmor V8 big blocks, that produce 430 - 570 horsepower, sound sweeter to my ears.
Those Ilmor V8s sound pretty good for an LS based engine. I like it.
Thanks for sharing. Nice old wooden boats!

They sure do.
It would be nice to see them up on plane and at cruising speed.

Curious about the Ilmor power, relatively modern. Sound timeless, though
