About "307 DAYS"
[ In Wyoming, we only have one area code and that’s (307). It’s a sign you’re getting a call from a good friend, your worst enemy, or maybe your favorite watering hole reminding you your tab is due. In the spirit of good friends, Western AF is proud to announce “307 Days.” A celebration if you will of Wyoming artists.
From March 1st (3/01) to the March 7th “(3/07)” we’re going to release a video a day from a Wyoming artist. We’re excited to showcase some of the state’s best and we hope you enjoy our bombardment of videos. So we are proud to celebrate Wyoming voices and we hope your ears and hearts are swayed by our featured artists. ]

No one lives in Wyoming by accident. The wide-open space and hardworking folks of the square state make it a home like no other. Once a year we come together to celebrate the thing we all have in common. A love for our home.
From March 1st till March 7th (3.07) were going to feature and celebrate Wyoming singer-songwriters in honor of Wyoming’s singular area code. 307.
Robert Weimann, singer-songwriter, a man about Lander, WY and a full-time fisher man is starting off the 307 Days with a great tune slash finger pickin' picnic for yall.

This song is giving me chills everytime.
i cant think of a single popular song that has and guitar this complex. can't even dream of being able to play like this.
Saw Rob and his band live in the Big Horn Mountains this weekend. Pure, Beautiful...Thank you
Every Red head from USA to Ireland has a rhythm and gift of a story to tell.........Great story Rob!
blew my mind in high school. made guitar class inspirational.
never will forget you playing and singing pearl jam in class.
Thank you all very much for listening and for the wonderful comments, much love and more music on the way ❤thanks @westernasfuck I love you guys
keep coming back. your guitar is insane.
Now I know what Nick Drake would have sounded like if he grew up pitching hay. Love this.
Nailed it.
Ooooh yeah ❤
As a displaced Westerner this brings so much joy to my soul
holy shit this is insane guitar work
I screamed from the eargasm this man delivered me with the first line, also I'm a north Idaho native and this song kind of has the 307 calling my name tho
Awesome right hand technique. Authentic voice
Beautiful
As the guy tabbing all your songs, I'd say he's definitely top 3 on your channel when it comes to picking. Great technique, nice riffs.
Chords and lyrics below folks. Have fun trying to play what he does. Apart from the last 30 seconds or so, it isn't as complicated as it seems when you use Open D tuning like he does to get the general idea of the picking right.
Open D tuning, no Capo
These are obviously just the basic chords he uses. Tons of fingerpicking, hammer-ons and pull-offs involved.
Just take these chords as a starting point
G is played as full barree on 5th fret, A as full barree on 7th fret
Intro D G D A / D G D A D
Verses D / G D / D / A / D / G D / D / A G D
Interlude D
Chorus G / G / D / A G D
Interlude 2 D
Outro D / G D / G D / A G D / D
[Intro]
[Verse 1]
Well I was born in the shipyards
But I grew up on the plains
The wind shook the trees making them speak to me
So that I could remember their names
My father he'd tell me to keep my head down
And to never cause a sign
Then he would tell me that if I saw the crown
I'd better swing with all my might
[Interlude]
[Chorus]
So go on kids, swing with all your might
Love with all your heart and see with all your sight
In this afternoon
And yes, this universe away around our minds has brought us to the ground
[Interlude]
[Verse 1]
Well I was born in the shipyards
But I grew up on the plains
The wind shook the trees making them speak to me
So that I could remember their names
My father he'd tell me to keep my head down
And to never cause a sign
Then he would tell me that if I saw the crown
I'd better swing with all my might
[Chorus]
So go on kids, swing with all your might
Love with all your heart and see with all your sight
In this afternoon
So go on kids, be with all your mind
Live with all your heart and love with all your time
In this afternoon
And yes, this universe away around our minds has brought us to the ground
[Outro]
My first thought was “this guy has been in a metal band”
@@307jevans seems most these contemporary folk artists were either metalheads or punks in their teens
Who is top?
@@bigjay8893 Ha damn, should have ranked in the first place. Wouldn't compare those songs, but Branson Andersons 'When I Roll" and Jason Dea Wests"Railroad Ghost" have some great picking. Jalan Crosslands latest, "Great Atomic Power", also has some lovely picking hand technique. But I'm sure I forgot some more
@@cedarriver I've just started listening to Jason dea West lone wolf is on repeat but I'll give that a listen thanks cedar 👍
I can't stop listening to this. I need more from him.
Woo-Hoo...307...where the snow drifts high or the wind blows it to the next county. Rob Weimann....Great song! I was dancing 'round the kitchen....waiting for spring!🤣
Easily one of my favorite uploads from this channel, really wish the audio quality was more consistent throughout. Regardless, would love to see more of him in the future
⭐️ if this was on vinyl I would get to the end , put it straight back on and flat wear it out in a week ⭐️ 👍
Holy shit LOVE YOU Western AF for continuing to bring great shit to the masses! ~ monk109 LOVe from San Francisco
Good Lord, the opening chords lured me in and those lyrics have me hooked and needing more.
Damn... Really awesome for a "Oarsman" and "Fish Whisperer". Keep it up Rob, we really enjoyed this! Cheers!
What a great player, reminds me of John Fahey.
Good Ole fingerpicked open tunings
Just filled my brain with the good chemicals. Ty ty ty
Ahh… so nice. I love open tuning fretboard finger dancing. Keep them coming
You really wanna start off day one that strong?? Damn. That was an incredible song...and performance.
Now this man can play. Hot diggity!! Brilliant.

A-Men
dope concept. i'd love to see a state by state series like this.
and thats some killer picking. tell him come to hawaii.
Lovely. And a totally unique right hand style.
I wish I had more access to this song! Putting it on Spotify would be nice but I know that isn't the easiest for artists. Would be great for spreading his song and story though! Great voice regardless. Thanks @Western AF for the video
Its on spotify now if you didnt know already
aaaaaahhhh one of my favorite tunes, rob. exquisite as always ✨ looking forward to the summer...
Swinging with all my might !
Excellent tone 💪🏼
Well done sir. Thank-you.
He's killing it , nicely done!
Heck yea Rob! Glad to see you getting this coverage bud! Spring fishing is about to get good...🤠👊
This guy is so underrated, this gem is so deep and hard to find.
He's not playing guitar, he's making love to her.
I can confirm that Rob makes love to all of his guitars.
I love you!
I both deeply love and love to hate this wonderful/terrifying/inspiring/infuriating/enigmatic place full of strange places and stranger folk, myself included. I like how you put it “no one lives here by accident”🤣 I don’t have to love it and I don’t have to leave it. Happy 307 Days Wyoming, you problematic unicorn.
Whew! What a great song!
Can't wait to make the jackalope rut. I bet the Mint is wild during that
Awesome !!! Great player, good voice, simplicity, sound and pictures are remarkable.... Thanks !!!
I love the style he has! I’ve never heard anything like it on an acoustic
Dude! 🍻
That was beautiful, I f**king love this channel.

This is my favorite Scott Frost song
This Blind Man is pretty good.
You don't hear a lot of country in vestapol.
Very good🙏
He's a great songwriter.

Country Jack Johnson vibes
My speakers don’t get loud enough
The Pecker Rob
Sing louder, Buddy ❤️. Put your soul into that smooth voice. Belt it through the camera.
I had a jackalope license for years!
First.
Great video and song.
Congratulations! Smh
Congratulations, good Sir!
@@that1guy899 thank you. In a year we can meet up for a beverage and celebrate the occasion.
You're the only one who cares if you're "first." Are you a first grader?
@@TheVeek192 that is such a typical response from someone who has failed kindergarten
Love the guitar, but wish the vocals where louder.
He's a damn good player/picker.
I don't know what went wrong but the sound is not so perfect, it's okay nevermind. Great technic on the 6 string, love it
Kanye West lives out that way
used to
Why would you bring Kanye up? Jesus.
Beautiful
Damn his guitar skills are crazy
