I’ve done some maf reading testing between different filters. Afe Takeda intake showed more than afe drop in filter for sure. Then after i added equal length headers, i compared 3 different cone filters with a custom intake set up. Worst filters did 35 lb/min and the best being inverted cone filter doing 51.8 lb/min. Pretty cool to see the air flow actually increasing
The car probably adapts over time (given your old filter looked decently clogged), but either cleaning your filter more often (if it's cleanable) or replacing paper filters more often will make the bigger difference.
Great video! Never heard of that brand before but definitely will try it out after some more miles on my K&N. Their website shows all their great products, even exhaust part! Main reason for visiting today is a question about Induction/Top Cleaner on the Lexus RC (I own a RC350 F SPORT). You ever try it? Bought the Toyota Induction Kit and curious as to which vacuum hose to connect to.
My f is in the shop now for it. The main symptom is coolant smell outside the car and no heat. Just wait for it, failures seem to be random. Just make sure you/they use the updated adhesive.
As a gsf owner and having driven some wrx, ima say yes. Just make sure you get one with torque vectoring diff and not the torsen diff. Way better overhead and reliability imho. Other options are a gti or r. Those things man.....most underated hatch in history.
I did not cut the plastic. It doesnt get that much extra air. There is the fender and chassis in the way of a good air flow so it wouldnt benefit from the cut in my opinion.
Here is my install video and link on it. So far, I have been able to clear other people’s codes using my car hahahah. It is weird to use my car to do it but I have. ruclips.net/video/cVjMaoiiiRs/видео.html
U are getting more flow on the expense of less Filteration. OEM is the best if u want the engine to last amd not wear out rings from silica not filtered by these AFE, K&N and Tom's filters. Watch filter test video by project farm. I am trying to find WIX filter which is currently out of stock. It seems to have the best flow and Filteration at the same time. Installed in my truck and felt the difference over OEM. Made in Korea.
@@R0ll_lexi didnt like my toms filter felt like no extra perfomance and seemed to kill fuel econ. Back to oem paper. Also dont used oiled filters.... Mafs cost way more than extra filters
This is so beautiful to know. Thanks
Thanks. ✌️
Great video man
Thanks for watching as always
Hey man I think u mentioned before , u don’t have to cut the fender for the heat shield? And if u don’t how does it fit

What were the different cone filters that you had?
With the Toms filter do you have to oil it?
Very good to know!
Thanks Trinh 😄
i can buy standard 2022 new $80K or light weight package $84k worth it?
How do you clean it and not ruin it?
Wow that thing pulls
What mods do you have

Yeah. That is why I say it is the dirty filter vs clean filter. I think with this video, i have a baseline to see the trend on the maf at idling
@@thehuangbrosany update on how it feels?

Im unsure about that kit. I know what it is but should be a plug and play if it is from Toyota.
Tom's is the premier brand for Lexus Racing.
Man what are your thoughts on the valley plate leaking, wait for it to happen or replace the sealer asap

Off topic but do you think the RCF would be a good upgrade coming from an wrx STi?

Should I get an intake first or exhaust first? Intake is cheaper so I was leaning toward that
Exhaust first. Intake does not contribute much
Be interesting to see the difference under load between the clean/dirty filters
That is a good point. I can do that. I do have the tech to do the readings while driving.
Did u cut your fender for the heat shield? It doesn’t look like u did

I did not but I would have loved the chance to data log it. I did have the ability to assess the intake temp but couldnt figure a good time to do it.
DUDE! Please tell me about that sweet touchscreen and all the indicators on it :)

About how many miles does the TOMs air filter last?
Hell that is a great question. Probably not as reusable it appears
@@thehuangbros that’s what I was getting out … I currently have a K&N which I need a substitute so when I clean and re oil the K&N.

you need to clean the mass air flow sensor, use liqui moly Luftmassensensor-Reiniger Article: 8044

@@thehuangbros You need to clean it because you used an afe oil filter, so the mass air flow sensor is dirty and needs to be cleaned of oil deposits.
