    Another great stream Steve ✊.
I love Michael F he’s my go to guy on all things vinyl.
But I beg to differ on Michael’s Yes Album opinion .
Michael is quite correct stating the original has a bit more punchy bass.
Overall the whole piece the AP 75 kills the original.
The clarity on Bill Brufords drum fills has never been revealed until now.The space around Jon Anderson’s vocals is a joy to behold.Kevin Gray did an amazing job on the two Yes titles defining in the series so far in my opinion.
    🙏

Great episode Steve! And hey I was at that same *The Beatles in Mono* event @ Electric Lady Studios in NYC that Mikey Fremer referenced at the end of this video. At this event I got to meet the great Ken Scott and even got my Horzu copy of MMT autographed and got a picture taken with him (with Fremer in the shot) LOL

Yes 1995, my 1st CD player, i was buying 70's compilation CD's & Crusaders Cd's because they were cheeper than new CD releases, then one day I picked up a vinyl turntable for my setup ( knowing I would get a better sound with correct setup, i'd read in uk Hi Fi world Magazine as a regular subscriber ) then I was buying 50pence Vinyl for Manhattan Trasfer & getting fab sound stage.

Great show as always Steve. Michael seemed as you say, very magnanimous with his knowledge and his time.Don't have that much to add sadly. Or thank fully in your case. But, the talk about Edwin Astley, in relation to Pete Townshend "Rough Mix" album. I particularly found very interesting. Father to Jon. of course. For many of us Brits, Edwin has been synonomous with TV themes, from our past.He composed if I'm not mistaken such classics as "The Saint" with Roger Moore, "Danger Man" (aka Secret Agent Man) in the states, "Department S" and many others. Also a brilliant musician and conductor in his own right. The connection with Pete Towshend being Pete married Edwin's daughter, Karen.Jon's sister.Wow! Never know where these conversations are going to. I certainly did not expect to hear talk of Jacqueline Du Pre's name. An incredibly talented cellist.Passed away so young I thought due to M.S.So sad.Great show as always. Now I will listen intently to your other show with Michael, but will keep my thoughts to myself.

I totally agree with Mr. Fremer about the DCC pressings. I had an original DCC Aqualung which most people would hafta change their pants if they talk about it, but even on my earlier, FAR more basic systems, I always honestly felt it sounded very dull and lifeless. I MUCH prefer the original MFSL pressing which is far livelier and dynamic. I traded my DCC Aqualung to another SHF member for a lovely MFSL Into the Labyrinth, a fantastic sounding 1st UK R.A.Y.E.S Permanent Waves and a nice 1st pressing of Cannonball Adderley. All for a pressing that I didn't even like... 😊

Steve, in most of the answers from Michael Fremer on the reissue quality you will get a positive answers because of courtesy . I know you don't like that. That is why Michael 45 focused on OGs. But the good think is that Michael Fremer is pretty honest and at least we can find that some reissues are not good.

The Yes Album - I agree with the US Piros 71 and the 77 Piros. More natural - the instruments stand out more naturally from the background. The AP75 - all the instruments sound similar in level making it more 2dimentional. The UK PLum 1st is shrill on Howe's guitar.

About the "Mandoki" record. This guy is a fraud, he just puts musicians together because he gets funds from the Hungarian government, he is actually not a player, he just rents a good studio, calls good musicians and put his name on it. I am a musician, I know guys who play for him.
