The houses and apartments are on small side because you have to heat them at least nine months out of twelve. It is just more economical when you don't have a lot of empty space to keep warm.

We finns appriciate someone putting efford to learning our language and culture, because we are really small population and have allways been historically a little hidden in our northern forests. So nowdays in global world its kind of a meme in Finland that if anywhere we get mentioned "torilla tavataan" meaning we will gather around in town to celebrate it :D We love our country and appriciate that we have made one of the most safest and equal sosiety in world just in 50 years we have been free from wars whit russia

It's really strange because Finns always mock on one of our own trying to speak english, but we love if someone outside of Finland tries is. We kinda hate ourselves, but love if someone else wants to be us. No idea man, we are strange.

Hi. Im born in finland and i am from rovaniemi originaly. I live in tornio nowadays and my cabin is in totally wilderness of kolari. I can relate in everything what she said. My childhood in my cabin woods was adventure and richness of plants and berries and and animals and everlasting forest. And it continues in my adult years to winter ski trips and snowmobile trips and in summer tentting and berrying trips..and the northern lights me and my cousin withnessed 2 years ago in our cabin honestly were amazing..green waves of light were pulsing from center towards aside..newer seen something like that..in that time i wished you all could be there..there might be bad people among of us fins like there is in every other peoples in the world but i think we have seen so much..we have so little history but fought for it with nails and teeth..for this country and for it own rights..we who can appreciate you who want to explore our amazing nature and coulture..please..welcome 😊👍

As a fin there are a couple awesome facts about Finland, such as Finland is a very safe country to be in and we have the best education system here. Schools are almost completely free, all you need buy is school books and a laptop if you go to high school/university/college (depending on the school). For studying in high school/university/college, all you need to do is sign up a application and maybe there is a entrance exam what you need to pass. So basically everyone has a big chance on having a education.

There's also the so called public right of access, meaning you are legally allowed to e.g.:
"walk, ski or cycle in areas outside private gardens and land that is in a specific use (for example cultivated fields and plantations)
stay for a short period in any area where access is otherwise allowed (for example put up a tent, but not too close to people's homes)
pick wild berries, mushrooms and flowers
fish with a rod and line, and through a hole in the ice in wintertime
boat when the water is melt or walk on the ice in wintertime" (ympäristö.fi) as long as you respect the nature etc.

Finnish is difficult to learn and to pronounce to many because it doesn't belong to any major language families.
We have lots of cases and endings.
but as with anyother language it's just about invidual studying the language. Some languages are easier for us to learn then others. I would think finnish might be more difficult to learn if we didn't use the latin alphabets with few addions. If we used like greek or chinese or russian type cyrilics, then finnish might be way difficult to learn.
Who knows...just nice to speculate. :)

Hot tip for if you ever come to Finland: do not talk to people in public transportation. 90% of people don't like it and the 10% that say they do are lying.
Bus/train/metro is a sacred place for being on one's own thoughts and disrupting that silence is a form of solecism. Any other public place is alright for talking randomly, but we use public transportation for traveling, not for socializing.

He gets tired of those Parties & sauna - so He runs away to meet to local People ! That is funny & entertaining !
