Red also represents pain or war mood, so for example people who go on demonstration in Ghana mostly wear red attires or scarfs to signify their seriousness and uncompromising mood. White is worn on Sundays for church service, otherwise white is used only if the deceased is elderly. It is to celebrate the life of that dead elderly individual. So white is for church service on the Sunday after the funeral, which is usually held on Friday and Saturday. If the deceased is over 90, white is usually the colour. Black and red are the colours for people under 90 years (definitely under 80 years). Mind you, this is definitely the case for the Akan ethnic group. It might differ for other ethnic groups.
