What makes FINAL FANTASY VII so Meaningful (It's not the Main Plot)

This is my love letter to what I think I love the most about my favorite game of all time. As part of my celebration for the upcoming FINAL FANTASY VII REBIRTH.

Hallo and thank you for watching! The reason to make this video is basically wanting to express into words and footage the reasons of my love towards FF7 and its world and specially Characters. No intention of being just me telling what's the plot alone and that's it, so feel free to make any remark you think I failed to include that might be important for the context of the scene and character.

Recently it was revealed that the Baldur's Gate team discovered FF7 and realized that those characters obliterated theirs, making them look like "paper cut outs" so they really focused improving that for Baldurs Gate 2.
oh wow that's funny, and pretty nice. Yeah, I don't want to come up as "uhm actshually, you can see how well are written here and there and-" but rather it's a very personal connection that you can have with these characters while playing and I think that impact was very common in many for different reasons. I wanted to express that type of thing

Thank you very much Light! It probably didn't start it that way, but at some point I was like "I will focus on just talk why I love these fuckers so much". To show that passion or love or how important they are to me. And probably if I wanted I could get sappier and start crying lmao.
Characterization in Remake seems pretty good so far, have high hopes on that sense, hopefully it's still nice or better!
Very beautiful video! This gives me more hope about the remake trilogy. Now that I think about it, yes the overarching story and the world-building is important, but I think I cherished the depth of the characters and their relationships the most whenever I think back on this game. Even if the story is different, they’ve shown a lot of care in portraying these characters, so I hopefully there is nothing to worry about in that regard.

I really do think that the overarching story and the journey through the world itself is going to be as beautiful, and character specific moments are going to stay as there are already hints of it. Of course there's always more or less details to them to enjoy more or less.
Even if at some points I may be nihilistic about some things, I admit characterization in Remake has been pretty good so far so I'm expecting a ton of the neat stuff you told to be there. Minus Red's introduction, they are pretty well received, like what you mentioned about Yuffie and also Cloud's dorkyness showed. Anyway, good stuff and super excited for that aspect in REBIRTH
You right, ya know. I did mention Yuffie because it was pretty obvious with how conflictive and antagonistic the original side quest was, but tbh there's a lot of "Aerith is better in remake! :D" "Barret is so well done in this remake :D" and that makes me happy. Chapter 18 may exist, but so does the rest of the game and character portrayal

Oh hell ye. I realize when hearing the songs in the background again how much those moments really get me with those tracks in the background
I know, and I wish there's a way for me to share constantly or effectively Marc Papeghin covers of those, because there's nothing better than that. I cry every time
Boi! I was recording the end of Disc 1 and when I move to Disc 2 and suddenly started at the City while "You Can Hear the Cry of the Planet" plays and I was like "holy fuck this is so foreboding I love it, I swear if they ruin this sensation"

Today is a good day to remind me why I like OG Aerith because I fear for her character in Rebirth, it's getting so hard to get interested in with that marketing
It was the fantastic world building and characters the main plot was absolutely part of it.
