Thank you for not missing out on the "thats what he said" opportunity 😂
It’s compulsory 😂
Greetings from Ireland Gittemary, lovely to see a young person actually able to sew and able to repair clothes. Here in Ireland we sadly no longer teach needlework in schools. Love your videos 🇮🇪
Thank you for that interesting video as I think a lot of us underestimate the workload you have as a self employed sustainability ambassador and you-tuber. And you haven’t even talked about all the background work that goes into it like contacting companies/people, answering comments on your social media accounts as well as e-mails, doing research on various topics that we later on can enjoy as informative videos, looking for and choosing (and declining) sponsors… I am sure the list could go on and on…
Hat’s off to your dedication and taking some time off to go on festivals is well deserved! We get vacation days in our corporate jobs as well, so why shouldn’t you? 😊
Thank you so much ✨ I truly love my job and I feel incredibly privileged, but it can be draining in it’s own way and how to manage that is something I am still figuring out 💚🌿
your energy IS EVERYTHING
I think here in Finland ,they but "vegan" label on a very old, well known booze brands bottle, and their sales dropped so badly, that they had to remove it 😅 Likely didn't even change the recipe
Thank you for sharing your low waste life with us 💚
Thank you for watching!
Love watching this as my secondhand items got delivered. Got a skirt on Poshmark for an event and a gift from eBay.
Score 😍
I love telling my inlaws "oh, you like this? Thanks, it's vegan" and seeing the conservative panic flash in their eyes. It's the only reason I learned to cook with the horrible oil based "butter" they like. 😂
I work in a vegan bakery and sometimes we have visitors who don't know. Than they enjoyed a piece of cake and we ask them what milk they want in the coffee. They cant believe they had delicious vegan food 😂
I like a hard boiled egg sandwich with lettuce and tomato for breakfast, berries or melon on the side.
Okay hot topic/genuine question for you as a leader in this space! Lately I’ve been inundated with research on “ultra processed foods” which has killed my desire to eat vegan meats, non-dairy milk substitutes, etc. I won’t touch beef but am trying to make the most sustainable choices and have settled on eating chicken and local dairy milk. It feels so backwards to me but at the same time I am worried about my family’s health. Would love a video or resources on this topic! ❤ For context I live in the US where food is basically not food 🫠
I'm not a Registered Dietician, so I'm not trying to give health advice, but have you considered foods like tofu or tempeh (you can make these at home if you like), or legumes instead of meat substitutes? You can make plant based milks at home too
Making plantbased milk is super easy. Like, blend oats and put them through a strainer cloth. Or almonds. It's also possible to find machines that do this. Most plant based milks are only processed because they are popular to foam for coffees. Otherwise it'a mostly grain/legume/nut + water.
Also even if you buy local meat or dairy, their feed may come from far away, like the rain forest.
@@brachak.99 I do like tofu! Although I’m not sure I could make it myself, so I mix it up with tofu and chicken. Tempeh though I have not been able to get on board with, haha!
@@Foundlilly11 Thank you for this! I have tried this with almond milk but it was SO expensive in comparison. Maybe I need to try oat milk?
Now that's a dinner I understand. :D
As a vegan who has never eaten meat in her life, I still have the urge to try any new plant based version.
This is so cool 😮😊
"As a vegan who has never eaten meat in her life"
Bullshit. You either can't remember or don't want to remember.
@@Offensive_Username What if they have vegan parents? so it is completely possible they had never had meat before? Anyway, don't need to be rude, let's be kind to each other please. Have a nice day.
@@Offensive_Username vegetarianism and veganism is pretty old by now. It's perfectly possible to have parents that did not feed you meat.
I have met several people who grew up vegetarian, it’s rare to never have had meat, but it’s still possible 😅 no need to be rude ✌️
I can totally relate to self-employed life. Sometimes I wonder what I was thinking. But I can't do corporate, so I am. Also, I love those vegan steaks for a quick meal! I get the BBQ ones and stir-fry them with peppers, onions, mushrooms and whatever - then put it all in a tortilla with or without vegan cheese and toast it on my panini grill (an unnecessary appliance, but bought secondhand).
That sounds amazing, I’ll definitely be trying that 😍
After what waste we saw of the aftermath of the festival, it felt somewhat futile to be so low waste but i literally cant live with my self any other way. I just wiah more were like this
Gittemarie talks about "a million degrees" if her window is closed .... meanwhile here in Scotland we skipped Summer, lol. We had some lovely warm days (17-20C) in May ... and that's about it. Currently around 13-17C only :( Had to escape the Scottish Summer and head to Porto, Portugal for a vacay a few weeks ago for actual Summer, lol.
Bending nails backwards is soooo fucking painful, happens to me sometimes when I put on new bedsheets and lift the corner of my mattress.
So interested to hear about your experience at Roskilde. Heard there was a lot of rain this year
So much rain 😂✌️
Oh man…. I hear you about the self employed thing! It *never* ends.
literally never 🥺
How have you found the hand stitching on your bicycle shorts has held up? I get holes in the same place and have been thinking a zig-zag stitch using a machine might be more durable so I’m curious 😊💛
The repair stitches are still holding up! 🫶👏
@@Gittemary that’s awesome! Thanks so much for letting me know 🥰
What podcast were you on?
Thank you
Thank you for watching!
Hi Gittemary, what type of microphone do you use to film your vlogs? Also, maybe you did this and I can't find it, would you like to share with us your tips and gear as a zero waist content creator?
Yes I have a blogpost on my website about my gear, search for content creation on there and I’ll pop up ☺️
I don’t use an external mic for vlogs ✌️
I have owned my festival chair for 20 years. It stays in my car.
Did you say you have a podcast? If so, where can I find you? 😃 I could only find one episode on Spotify.
I was in a podcast, the episode will be up later, it’s called Bioeconomy Matters ✨
👍
What’s the name of your podcast
It’s not my podcast, I was in an episode of Bioeconomy Matters ☺️
