To him, the current polls are more of a small misunderstanding or a matter of a divided right, not people actually turning against him and his side. How could they? How dare they? He/his side knows what's best for them, it's just a spoiled minority of immature woke people and bleeding hearts who see any fault in whatever it was he was doing. He's probably also surrounded by yes men telling him only good news, showering him with compliments and approval and laughing at his every joke, i.e. people who won't tell him to his face the reality of the situation.
Read or listen to what he said line by line and analyse what he is proposing. That is the really scary part as he is largely saying the UK will be sold off to anyone rich enough to buy anything worth having.

Check out the electoral calculus site you'll see that Labour are predicted to take 35.5% of the vote and tories 24.6% in Somerset North East. If there is no electoral pact then JRM is toast 🤣. On the other hand, if the tories make a pact with Reform then JRM will scrape through with 37.7% of the vote. This ignores any tactical voting by either the LD voters on 19.1% or Green voters on 6.6%. If the majority of voters want to kick out JRM and prevent and even greater swing to the right both LD and Green voters will need to vote tactically in Somerset North East.
And to prove the point, he'll wear his nappies publicly.
