At 4:35, we see Tunnel Number 3, the Tagard Tunnel/bridges over Weber River.. One can take this exit and get up close to this rather noteworthy original ROW construction. When completed late spring of 1869, A.J. Russell, UP's imminent photographer, took photos here, along with his friend, photographer Charles Savage, of SLC.., minus the interstate intrusion. Some of these images can be viewed on OMCA site. Mormon labor helped build this area, under threat from CPRR, headed from west, in it's push to gain congressional funding.
