Taking the Goblin to a track day for HPDE and High Speed Autocross!

- In this episode we take the DF Goblin to Blackhawk Farms Raceway in South Beloit Illinois for a track day. The first half of the day is HPDE and then after lunch it's timed runs. It was a drizzly day which seems to have almost ended the day in a NOT SO GREAT way!
That looks so fun to rip that thing around on the track! 😄👍Close call too!

Downshift and letting the rpm come to idle and the letting it snap engage is why you spun out and one reason why youre losing time. Upshifting at 4krpm is another. This car could easily shave off the 9 seconds you needed if you were one with the beast.❤

I can't think of any tips or tricks! It's pretty easy to do, just have to start unbolting things!

Grip is a function of contact patch. The wider your tires are and the less weight you have on them (Contact Patch/Weight), the less mechanical grip they're able to provide. If you ran a narrower tire you'd not only be able to increase your mechanical grip, but you'd actually be able to get some heat (and maintain it) in the tires.

Have you thrown the car on scales to balance the cars weight equally? It will help out tremendously.

Glad you saved it! I was looking at the moment you left the asphalt, and I didn't see the FR tire lock up, but i did see the back end kick out to the right. Rear bump steer when you climbed the curb? I'm not sure, but it looked scary heading for those trees! Good save, race on!

Do you have the brake proportioning valve?
No, I used a Wilwood manual brake master cylinder when I built the car and I've been very pleased with the brake bias of that unit.
Bro! You can't drop the clutch like that mid corner in a tail heavy car! You scare people!

You really need the DF shifter upgrade! It's so much better. Good videos. Psst. use 60fps, it makes for a much smoother action video.
Oh yeah, I already did the upgrade! This event is what pushed me over the edge to make the switch. I had a hard time going away from the billet one because I put so much time and effort into finding a different shifter and making it work in the car only to have DF release one a few months later.
