Hey dudes, I want to make it VERY CLEAR that when exploring Maui, or anywhere for that matter, you need to ALWAYS respect the land/environment/communities you're visiting. It's everyone's duty to leave these places better than when you found them.
If you ever go back to Maui and do the road to Hana again, you have to stop at red sand beach. You can easily park at the end of the road near a school and walk 10 minutes on a fairly easy trail and you'll find yourself on the nicest looking beach with rocks that blocks the waves. There are no jumping spots but it is totally worth your time.
I got back from Maui this June 2 from a senior trip! I wish one of us came across this before flying out there.

Here’s some pronunciation tips for anyone visiting Maui:
Kahului - (ka-hoo-loo-ee)
Waihe’e - (wai-heh-eh) *there is an okina, or asterisk, between the two e’s so there is a slight stop between the sound*
Iao - (ee-ah-oh)
Pipiwai - (pee-pee-VAI) *W’s are pronounced as V’s*
Ka’anapali - (ka-ah-na-pa-li) *there is an okina, between the two a’s*
As a person who lives on maui, specifically kahului, anyone who pronounces it kahoolui instead of kahalui will be mocked
Ptaradactle Time where did the extra a in Kahului come from? It’s Ka-hu not Ka-ha

best maui guide on youtube i've seen. you literally hit all the best spots without hyping up shopping/resorts.
i'm pretty sure i rented the exact same complex you did in Kihei, which was close to the Wailea border. Kihei is a great opinion to save a few bucks over Wailea basically the same options. Kihei has a few meth types in sections but overall a great town.
PSA: To anyone planning to go Maui or anywhere in Hawaii. Helicopter tours are beautiful and all, but they are not worth it for you to risk your life. Helicopter tours will still take you out on a tour despite the weather and in recent news 18 crashes have occured in the past 5 years. We recently had a crash with 7 people on board crash by Na Pali coast, which is very sad and it was due to the weather. It's really up to you though, but many locals know that the weather in Hawaii is no joke. It's bipolar, the weather could turn to a sunny day to a windy one real quick. So, before you get in the helicopter make sure you check your weather and pilot. Helicopter companies will still fly just to make money.

That's pretty unlikely.
Between all the helicopter companies, there’s probably 100 helo rides a day in maui alone during peak season. Say there’s a 100 a day ONLY 1 month of peak season. That’s 3000 flights. Add up all the months, years, crashes and flights the past 5 years? There’s less than a .05% chance you’ll be in one. Kind of a dumb claim to just conclude you shouldnt go on a helo tour because of 15 crashes in 5 yesrs. You’re not going to be in one.

helicoptor rides are a total ripoff also.. they do not respect sacred places, and the companies do not in any way support the local economy. huge companies... and you do NOT! SEE! the real island. better to go to a SMALL local luau, small local restaurants etc

It should be mentioned that hardly anyone drives the road to Hana as a loop. Most people start somewhere near Kahului, drive the Hana Highway along the north and east sides of the island to Ohe'o Gulch, and head back the way they came. This is probably the best for most people because the road south of Ohe'o Gulch is very narrow and very bumpy.

Currently in Maui on Vacation. Did the road to Hana a couple days ago. My favorite spot was Red Sand Beach! Black Sand Beach was pretty cool also but it was really crowded. Staying in Lahaina and loving it so far! People her in Hawai'i are so nice.🤙

I spent 3 weeks on vacation in Maui back in 2012. Did everything covered on here and then some. I remember being on Pipiwai trail and slipping on a patch of mud going downhill and almost falling through the guard rail into rushing water. By the end of it all locals were asking if I was local or not haha fun times.

We went to Maui this past December we stayed in Kaanapali at a resort and it was amazing it’s definitely a lifetime experience and it was my 1st time in Hawaii but it definitely not be my last… Great video tfs Aloha 😊

One of the best Maui videos! The pipiwai trail was the highlight of our Maui trip! I hate hiking and it was worth every sweaty step
I’m not much of a hiker either and I have 3 10 year old kids and a couple of very active seniors! Do you think this would be a hike for us??!!
@@HARLEMNHUNTER there were a few seniors on the trail with us . They did fine. I suggest taking lots of water, good walking shoes, and I would get to the trail early enough to allow plenty of time to do the hike. It’s so worth the effort. And be sure to take lots of pictures.

Nice video man jus came back from maui 1st time ever and I feel in love stayed in kihei. U literally are in the middle of maui. So much beaches and scenery I suggest next time u go to molokini crater.BTW I'm from Hawaii live in oahu

@@AyushKumar-rf3wx could be done with a group of people fairly reasonably. Hawaii is expensive, but if you find a condo with a kitchenette you can cook your own food which helps a ton!

I recommend doing one of the few zipline courses! Also, the blowhole on the north side of the island is a nice stop too.

Great video ! I went to Maui and I only have two other recommandations. Slaughterhouse beach in the westside of the island is way better and less crowded than the popular beach like black rock and kapalua. You can park your car on the side of the road and the access to the beach is really easy. This is also a great place for snorkeling, we saw 3-4 sea turtles. Also, like you said, it's difficult to buy your ticket to haleakala sunrise. So instead you can go for the sunset which is amazing too. It will be much easier to find ticket and less crowded, but there will still have a lot of people out there. You need to arrive AT LEAST 1 hour before the sunset to explore the top of the crater and take place to watch the sun goes down.

i like to watch these and reminisce, just waiting to go back!! also kihei is nice i stayed there my first time but i really liked wailea!! it’s super nice. but kihei is a good place if you are going to be traveling back and forth to lahaina or kaanapali

Nice video, have to do the road to Hana Backwards like that, looks like fun. You see different things going the other way for sure. I suggest to get a book about the island like I did and saw many beautiful things to boot. Takes while and more time to see everything. We didn't get tickets to see Haleakala just drove up at dark thirty and was so worth it. Also stayed in Kihea. Awesome town. Helps to have a boyfriend that is from there and has family there to visit. Have to respect the land and NEVER take anything from there unless its from a store. Many superstitions. Seems to be never enough time to take it all in. Mahalo
