According to Elvis's personal hair stylist Elvis's hair wasn't really thick.
Elvis died his hair black after a first cameo... he was a natural blonde... so the pomade I assume made his hair look & a bit thinker

@@Lee-Darin this is true, I watch a documentary about Elvis, and it had his hair "guy" in it. It really made me feel more confident in myself, because, I've always had thin hair and seeing a legand like Elvis have thin hair too, real booster!
People are complaining, but i've been a giant elvis fan since i was a small child. This 100% is the closest youtube tutorial to getting that presley pompadour from like 62-67. Very good job

Looks fade..... Everybody eventually becomes ugly.
Because they're essentially just little play dolls for the camera. Always playing dress up, being told to pose a certain way and having shit done to their hair and what not. All without being able to utter a syllable. Probably realizing they actually made a mistake in choosing the life of a model.

That cut looks pretty good, but it's just not a true Elvis style pomp. Elvis' hair was never that short on the sides; he just slicked it back with Pomade.

And to everyone commenting about length, that's only part of the issue. Elvis had pretty rare Double cowl-licks at either the front or back of his head that helped him achieve that iconically different looking Pomp. It seriously would be physically impossible for mostly anyone to style their head Dead on Elvies hair. Due to the lack of a second cowlick.
Even though I only have 1 cow lick, it still makes me feel better to know the Legend Elvis had cowlicks at all, it used to make me feel bad about my hair.

Andrew's finished haircut looks more like the "Jailhouse Rock" era pompadour and not the "Love Me Tender" and "Loving You" era (longer) pompadour; which I am trying to figure out how the barbers cut.

I seem to remember reading that he didn't dye it black, but it turned black over time. It happened with me, I used to be a dirty blonde as a kid, but now at 18, I have naturally black hair.
Not just black, he used a blue black to complement his cool tone skin.

Murray's Beeswax, Murray's Black Beeswax, and Murray's Super Light Pomade & Hairdressing are my favorite Murray's products for the classic look. The best hairdressing in my opinion is Royal Crown Hairdressing, because that shines up my hair good with a light hold.
I love Black and White. I feel like it's got a little better off a shine than Royal Crown, but both products are amazing

If you really want the elvis pompadour, your on top has to be about 6 or 7 inches and about 2 or 3 inches on the sides. And forget about the styling shit they used here, just some black&white pomade and a pocket comb will get the job done

First step its to make sure you have enough hair on your head to pull this off, if not mabe think of another style to do your hair. I to love the way Elvis did his hair and i do it myself, but i dont have that kind of hair Elvis did, or this kid and of cource my pomp dont look this good, but you take what you can get i guess.

Elvis used hairspray. But my advice to use is get a good pomade. Not American crew or anything made by a salon. You need barber grade pomade.
