    Another great interview Ryan, while I enjoy listening to these interviews while making breakfast, dinner, or working out, I have to agree with Patrick kensella. The Tier 1 bubbas are awesome, I always think what if I took that leap and left the infantry for a chance to serve along side those warriors. However it would be great to see some interviews from your more conventional side of the house. While it’s not a sexy and Hollywood worthy, big infantry either army or USMC deals with so much with so little. This community never gets a solid look and understanding. Keep up the great work.

    I would like to here about Patrick's experience / treatment in Ranger School after serving in combat as a member of the 1st Bat. Was it easier after learning many of the TTP's in actual combat or were they expecting more from you?

    • @pedrokoto
      @pedrokoto 2 года назад +5

      Great question sir, I think I had an easier time than most students.
      Ranger Batt has a culture of “come back with your Tab or don’t come back”
      Your first year in Batt is brutal between deployments and training. They will not send you until you are ready and they know you’ll pass. As it would be an embarrassment to the unit if you went and failed.
      For example the minimum PT score to enter Ranger school is 240 I believe…but Battalion will not even put you up against your peers for a slot unless you are 300+
      Having 2 deployments under my belt prior, I personally felt like I had a leg up on my peers…even some cadre.
      Ranger school is more of a suck fest as opposed to a tactical school in my opinion. As long as you can keep moving forward with minimal food and sleep for 62 days, while serving your platoon, you will pass.
      Some of the tactics are outdated but some are not…initiate ambush, patrol base, break contact. But as far as getting a map and compass and plotting points for 12 miles….not realistic.
      I had a great time in Ranger school, I’ll cherish it forever. It’s the only chance you’ll have as an adult, to go play army man in the woods with your friends…and get paid to do it. What’s not to love!
      I hope this answers your question.
