Supposedly "original gangster”, can be seen as “old generation", personally viewed as “old-school”.🤓
I became an avid Korean music aka Kpop listener/lover since 1998. Korean and rap music were my coping mechanisms from the bullying I experienced in middle school through high school and my love for the genre has stuck by me ever since.
Unfortunately, I took a huge break from Korean music around 2015 when I was officially diagnosed with lupus nephritis and seizures; I was receiving and battling years of chemotherapy and dialysis along with taking 32 pills a day, so I had no mental/emotional/spiritual room to keep myself updated with the genre. Luckily, I'm in remission now! Doesn't mean that lupus and seizures are gone because I am still very capable of frequent flare-ups of I don't take care of myself, but I make sure to do so enough to manage and live as "normally" as possible.
When I made this RUclips name, I was thinking from my graphic-design-major perspective of a brand that will not only describe what my content will be about but will also align with the times, and y’all know that “Kpop stans” have been a thang for awhile now so hence the cringe-worthy title, OG KPOP STAN. (My love for Eminem is also relevant.😂) ALSO! Just to be SUPER clear- me calling myself an "OG kpop stan" does NOT mean that anyone who's listened to kpop after me is inferior or less-than. A kpop lifestyle is a kpop lifestyle regardless of time. Please don’t get that sh*t twisted.😛

The whistle note/"scream" note is Irene, actually, funny enough.
best part about that is they all did a take of the "scream" note and Irene's was unanimously chosen by the members and producers

I will never understand how this song is so underrated compared to all the RV title tracks.. But yet again amongst all their masterpieces there's gonna be one being the least appreciated sadly😩
I think because it called really bad boy so people expected a bad boy 2.0, so because this song is new and very different people don't like it and won't give it another listens

I heard this song was used at the clubs in Korea very often, it wasn't a hit for wins in music shows, but it was hit for clubbing definitely.
@@riffgroove Yeah, in recent years it's all about the timing of your comeback (no coinciding with digi monsters) and depends on your Album sales and YT views (for Inkigayo). Unless we have PAK level digital scores, we can't compete with medium digi scores :/

The high note scream/singing you're referring is Irene's. She's the only one who did it and the highest note recorded in 3rd gen kpop history. Yep. Irene.

Most of this has already been pointed out here but this is an extremely difficult song to sing. The whistle notes, the ad-libs and just the way it moves around a lot make it one of their hardest and most impressive title tracks. It was criminally under appreciated when it first dropped (probably because of the title - in terms of style and concept it is completely different from Bad Boy) but has gained a lot of respect from Reveluvs since then, myself included. Thanks for the reaction!

YES, Thina! An appreciation for RBB! The vocals. The choreo. The VISUALS. And what always brought it home for me was the amazing theme. It's horror, yes, but it's SO Red Velvet, in all the right ways. People don't appreciate this song enough.

The thing with red velvet is that the members have their own distinct colors but when they blend together, it just works, and its great! They are awesome individually but are superior together. And this barely happens in a mid-sized group.

You should revisit Psyhco, that video is filmed using a lot of classic horror movie techniques. I loved it even more when I started to notice it, added that element of "this relationship is sometimes like a horror movie" to the song.

This song is just pure vocal flex. If you see them doing it live, it is even more impressive. Tho the scream is recorded but the other parts are pretty spot on on the live. Who in the world can replicate that scream?
