It was a rumour from the begining that produsers will place Ukraine in a bad spot to avoid a chance to relocate another contest. Everyrybody was complaining about Malta in 2021, which was placed 6th, but this time was much bigger crime and obvious produsers decision to destroy Ukraine's chances to win.
People are tired of Ukraine already. They wouldnt win in any running order this year, this is not a year for them to win again. We have many good songs

Netherlands 5th is basically giving up on them, quite surprised ! The trio Serbia Finland Portugal will feel very weird, can't have bigger contrast in songs in my opinion, but like you said that's a good thing. The running order this year doesn't matter too much with the vote opening before the first song. People can vote as it goes along, so some songs might not necessarily get lost or forgotten about as with previous years
I think this year is the best in the last 20 years in the history of Eurovision. As a Ukrainian, of course, I support our girls. But at the same time, I adore the performances of Croatia, Ireland, Lithuania, Italy, Armenia and Greece - each of the songs has its own vibe, unsurpassed performance and charismatic performer))) It is impossible to choose one favorite - just an epic year!!!!

Ire was the most amazing engaging performance i ever seen in history. As the song itself on radio was not as catchy as some . but explains why the odds went from 80/1 to 16/1 .

Ireland still a tinnnny bit early, wouldve preferred 12th or 13th, but its inbetween 2 songs with some of the worst stagings this year, which highlights how Ireland has the best. Also Latvia being a tiny bit dull (I love Hollow and Dons but it is a little bit) means viewers can digest Ireland a bit, talk about it for longer through Latvias performance. So I think winning is still an option for sure, lots of winners from around these running order spots before

It's not about the time of voting only, it's about the amount of people watching too. It's well known that most people with loose end towards the show appear in it after the first half or near the end.

Problem is...I don't see any special entrance at all. Croatia will win probably and that's fine it isn't a terrible winner but let's stay real. The vocals are not that good and the staging is awkward. Let's hope we don't get another war winner that would be disappointing.

I think being in the middle is potentially the best... Eurovision is long, so there are probably families that let the kids watch until "too late" song 17 or so, and then the parents sacrifice their votes to vote for what the kids want - but now, kids can vote on their own. Kids would miss the last 6 songs.

Tbf it's very predictable from the political statements. I love the ESC but sometimes it gives me political reality TV vibes.

producers probably put ukraine 2nd cuz they dont want want them to win again. also that for israel, this is the first time since the producer led running order that song no2 is gonna finish good.
the previous record was belarus 2014 which finish 16th and ukraine is for sure doing better than that

I think we need to prepare for the possibility that Israel may get a Kalushian-level public score. Their televoters will be able to vote multiple times in a window of hours rather than minutes, and could well steal vital televotes from Croatia. France will benefit.
Voting start from 1st song. Maybe EBU want to Ukraine win from death slot 2 and show how is possible to do that ( I see Ukraine in TOP 5 both with juries and Televote)
We had voting from the beginning about a decade ago. It had very little impact back then we'll have to see if is going to change.
We will see in final. When MF (Melodifestivalen)have voting from first song in final in 2002,2003, both winner sing 1st in final.

I think the second position for Ukraine and the 6th for Israel is a big scientific research of EBU to understand how the running order affects the final results. OR, I have another theory: the EBU may simply aim to have a winner from a country that last won the contest at least 30 years ago: Croatia technically won for the last time in 1989, France in 1977, and Switzerland in 1988.
The average viewership for each time slot is crucial because audience numbers vary significantly based on time differences. Peak times in Eastern Europe or the Middle East differ from GMT, not to mention Australia. Australia serves as an excellent benchmark due to its diverse diaspora from every country, or do you know which country is the most accurate at picking the winner?

I think for Estonia this is a good running order because Estonia usually does well in the beginning or in the end bad pleasing for Estonia would have bean 14 to 16 because those newer winn or end in the top

I personally don't think running order is an issue this year because voting opens at the beginning of the show, for each song so Ukraine being there won't be an issue as it would've

It's not about the time of voting only, it's about the amount of people watching too. It's well known that most people with loose end towards the show appear in it after the first half or near the end.

One thing that baffles me is people saying that Iceland was outdated while ignoring that Austria is also outdated.
I think it depends on if that’s deliberate or not. Austria’s is obviously intentional, but I don’t think Iceland’s.
Croatia is also outdated. Doesn't really matter. People like what others like or they first impression about something.
Austria is not outdated, it’s quite trendy. Just like fashion, music trends are a cycle, since 2020 70´s disco music was a trend, then 80s music, then 90´s music, then 2000´s recently, and now we’re back into early 2010´s EDM trends. So Austria is right on the trend. Iceland is not

I think France got the best spot, I thought they would put Croatia last but maybe it would have been too biased. Italy got cheated a bit don't think she can win now. Switzerland also got a good spot.

Problem is...I don't see any special entrance at all. Croatia will win probably and that's fine it isn't a terrible winner but let's stay real. The vocals are not that good and the staging is awkward. Let's hope we don't get another war winner that would be disappointing.

I disagree with you completely. His vocals were/are great and i like the staging. I don't know if it could win, it depends on the jury. We all know what happened last year. I don't like tattoo, i have never listened to it. It's generic and boring. All the favourites this year aren't generic and boring so I'm happy. I just hope israel won't win, now i think that's also a possibility. Which makes me angry ngl.
Probably not but I don't think they would've won anyway even if later in the running order. It's a good song and the staging is fine, not great but adequate. They just don't have the momentum and that's okay. They'll be in the top 10 and there's nothing wrong with that.

I think being in the middle is potentially the best... Eurovision is long, so there are probably families that let the kids watch until "too late" song 17 or so, and then the parents sacrifice their votes to vote for what the kids want - but now, kids can vote on their own. Kids would miss the last 6 songs.

I kept myself sheltered from all things Eurovision 2024 until the Semi Finals - I literally have not heard the songs until the live shows. I did well ranking for my own personal tastes and for what I thought would be fan faves. But France? Okay, I got creeped out by his interactions with the camera... like, please don't boop me again. I couldn't even concentrate on the song! I like Germany so I'm surpised they're placed in a not so great position. Now I need tomorrow to go through the official videos of the Grand Final contestants and work out my ranking for Saturday's show...
I really find France's song overhyped and boring
