I love the noise the Tangara’s make when they go and leave the station
Alisha That is because they use a Mitsubishi Electric “Chopper” traction motor. That’s why it has that distinctive whining sound. C sets also use it, as do some of the V sets.
I love travelling on Tangaras
Sets seen in this video:
T48 + T110
T16 + T107
T??? + T40
T103 + T46
T40 still hadn't got its interior refurbishment with the yellow poles/handrails and new seat fabric at the time this was filmed.
How come the Tangaras do the sound when they are leaving and about to stop nice video
What sound are you referring to? They make plenty of sounds which is why I enjoyed filming them :P
the sound when when they are about to stop and starting to leave
Chopper Control.
Pretty much all trains make I different chopper control sound. The Tangara ones are very obvious because they are very loud. Same with C Sets.
Coffs Aviation HD That beautiful sound is what’s known as a “chopper control” motor. C sets also use it, and were pretty much seen as the prototype Tangara.
3/4 trains had XG sets on at least one set.
Deborah Lim Yup. Sets were T110, T107 and T103 in that order.
No OSCAR's this time round?
Not in this vid. The Martin Place vid will have an Oscar when I get round to uploading it.
