This amp has always been a solid contender for any working musician IMO. I recently gave mine to my son as I now use the Bandit silver stripe... I'm glad to see you showing how to get the most out of it.
The EQ on the Normal Gain channel is passive, so flat is probably 2-10-4 (low, mid, high) but the Presence is active and flat at Noon. The EQ on the Lead Gain channel is active, so flat is at noon. The Shift button changes the center frequency of the Body (Midrange) control. A very flexible amp and thankfully Peavey has the manual available in the Support section of their website. For the four cable method, if the effects are instrument level one would use the Effects Send and Return. If the effects are line level one would use the Preamp Out/Poweramp In jacks. Peavey thought of everything!
Those Peavey teal stripes sound fantastic. I had a Express 112 and gave it away, 2 months later I was back on the internet shopping for another one to replace it. Found one, got it and not letting this one go. Highly desirable tones can be squeezed out of the teal stripes, in addition, extremely reliable and durable as well 😉👍
I have this same amp. Says on the front made and designed in USA. I was told because it says made and designed it in fact is American made. It has a 12 inch scorpion. I love this thing. A lot of my friends think it's a tube amp. I want tell.
I got one of these for free without a cabinet. Built a jank cabinet for it but the amp sounds killer. I have much better amps but they also cost quite a bit. I still like playing through this thing and for zero dollars I have zero complaints.
What ah awesome video. I've gigged with Bandits. You set up the delay, compression or chorus the right way, you get a big fat tone and nobody would you it was solid state. I gigged in the L.A. metal scene with Bandits when I didn't want to lug around my Marshall stack or very heavy Boogie combo. Yeah, the Bandit was still heavy, but not as heavy, and a lot easier to dial in the right tone with the EQ and the few pedals I used. I got a lot of compliments on my tone. I hope Peavey turns around as a company. I've always had a soft spot for their amps, tube or solid state.
Could you help me on how to achieve a good metal tone? I’m stacking a metal zone and a tubescreamer through it but have no idea what to do with the dials on the amp itself (I have the peavey bandit 112)
First off awesome playin! And I have a silver stripe express and I love it! The clean channel is surprisingly good as well, and wven when I crank it up to band practice level on the cleans it DOES NOT fart out which is awesome! Keep her goin bud!
Man was looking at buying this exact amp, and you are using the exact same guitar and cable as I am down to the color. Thanks so much for the sound demo!
Thanks Doc I just bought mine for £50 ( which normally would be around $80 but the state of the £ nowadays renders it parings with the $) It’s a Scorpion model all beat up looking and needed some TLC but sounds great Loved your video and will study it more in detail the thing is a beast and we’ll worth the 50 quid I forked out Cheers Doc 🏴
I have a Blue Stripe. Most versatile amp Peavey made. Want to play Buck Owens? It will do it. Want to head bang? It will do it. Want to sound like BB King. It will do it.
I had been looking for a used red stripe Bandit for a good price. I found one a couple of years ago for $80 at a pawn shop. Planning to use it for an outdoor show this summer.
anyone has a hint hw to fix the amp making cracking sound (after 10 min of use I cant hear the guitar). If fix is not possible how to replace the amd "module" with another (cheap)
I've tried running a Pedal through this amp, sounds like crap plugged into the effects, and into the high gain and low gain. Sounds so quiet. I get no effect from the pedal when plugging the pedal into the back, but my guitar is way louder? What do I do? I'm wondering if the amp is broken. I'm pretty new and naive to the Guitar Scene and just starting out.

Totally agree!

So true.

Most underrated amp EVER - sounds better then any jazz chorus for a clean tone and the teal sounds slightly more vintage then red in a good way.
It sounds great but its a brick to carry around. The roadie sure does get a work out ;)

What a good amp! Great sound and power!
You're showing the incredible versatility of this amp. Great video
Its a great amp but very heavy :)

They are great amps if you can find them in good condition.

The Reverend Sensei is pretty great.
11:11. holy cow. yeah. Peavey 2022. baby
Its a pretty rockin amp
Cool video, i am trying to revive my old Peavey Amp and your video was very informative and inspirational 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 thanks
Rock on!
Those were great amps.
Awesome guitar

Sounds really good with a V30!
I agree.

Sounds good Brian. You can find good deals everywhere if you just keep your eyes open.
I think your recording is distorting before your amp is, it’s too bad. This is a good demo!
its a quick and dirty video. Thanks for watching
Is this a Sheffield or Scorpion? I much prefer the Sheffield for this amp.
The speaker was broke on this so I replaced it with a Celestion V30.
Very informative
Glad it was helpful!
I got one for $25 Australian Dollars - it is Fantastiic
Great deal!
Love the demo with the reverend!
going to pick one up today if all goes well, for a bit more than 50€. which is not a lot...
They are great amps for sure.
They'll go up in price when the hipsters catch on to the fact it's an great amp for cleans.
Which is better Teal stripe or Silver strip Sheffield ?
I haven't played them both enough to have an opinion. Both amps sound good.

I never could figure it out.
New caps 👍
Reverb not working?
These amps break down over time. This is my friends amp I was checking out.
Why is yours so quiet mine is staticky and loud. Maybe I need it serviced?
You answered your own question…..
Probably just need the pots cleaned out.

wet fx need to go in the fx loop and dirt pedals need to go in the front input of the amp.
Even if you are plugged into the clean channel ?
