We take the VW Camper to Diddly Squat Farm Shop, part of Jeremy Clarkson’s Farm near Chipping Norton. We stayed at The Camping and Caravanning Club Site Chipping Norton which is literally next door to the farm shop.

My son went to the shop on the way home from Cornwall. He brought me a load of goodies which were nice sausages milk eggs etc. Crazy price but as a one off. Ok

Interesting few videos about the VW. Personally I like the look of the Ford Nugget Plus which I think has a better layout and a toilet! It would be great if you got the chance to review one.

Another great blog on an area I was considering to visit but I’m beginning to have second thoughts as I was disappointed with the farm, but we shall see if we change are mind.

Karina , I noticed on the last vlog when you reviewed the van , does the pop up roof go up at both ends of that ? I wondered because the arms of the hydraulic seems to look as though they could be raised also to give you extra room .

Hi George thank you for watching..From reviews I had it had started up again and the barn currently has a “pop up shop” in it. We went late in that day so cannot say for sure and the website is a bit vague. I really wanted to try a burger 🍔 Have a fantastic week 😊

Using gas in a VW sized camper for heating is a bad idea. Generally you are using a small 907 camping gas cylinder and using it for heating, it doesn't go very far. My camper van uses diesel from the main tank and the suction tube to the diesel heater from the main tank, only allows it use the diesel for the diesel heater to a certain level in the tank, so you are never stuck for diesel to drive. Using diesel for the heater, you hardly see any drop on the fuel gauge, it uses that little. It also frees the 907 gas cylinder for use only for cooking and that way it lasts many outings. We always carry a spare 907 gas cylinder for when the in use cylinder runs out, so we never get caught out without either diesel or gas ever. During waking hours we also use an electric fan heater, fed from the electric hook up to save our diesel, it is very effective in heating the van's very small living space, we also have it as a back up in case the diesel heater stops working, which it has never done yet but as boy scouts say, be prepared ! With the diesel heater on, it is always toasty warm and we have never been cold with it on. It seems like you are climbing the same steep learning curve for campervans that we are climbing with our newly acquired caravan. It is all part of the fun !

Yes I had a Campingaz 907 cylinder in the 2 pop top campervans I have owned. I fitted an Eberspacher in the first campervan and the new one has the same diesel heater. It would be uneconomical to run a gas heater compared to a diesel heater. It must be to save money for Camperway. Gas heaters are a bit cheaper I believe and they don’t have to drop the fuel tank. But the 907 would not last long with using a gas heater.

gas bottle? when the gas bottle was emptied. did you have a spare? and using the microwave ... was that easy?
No, we didn’t have a spare, just the one in the gas locker.. if we had a camper we would do things differently. We learnt a lot in a short time with the CampAway.
