Thanks for the tutorial. I used it to tie a lanyard for my machete (my first paracord project). I tied the herringbone knot, placed the standing end of the paracord through the machete's lanyard ring, tied the lanyard knot, and (finally) covered the lanyard knot. The resulting knot exceeded my expectation. Thanks again.
Every paracord enthusiast mantra..over under over around and back over under over under 😅. Thank you you for a brilliant video mate. It’s always a pleasure to watch. Awesome work.
Well, after 3 days and countless attempts - SUCCESS! I think my challenge was in the initial setup and in particular the pass shown at ~4:50. Once I got that correctly done the rest went flawlessly. Rather than a lanyard knot, I prefer the kings crown button knot for the seed as it gives a more pleasing final appearance. Thanks for a great tutorial.
Man, this was difficult! It took about six goes, but I got there in the end. I also made it more difficult for myself by tying it directly onto a large folding knife, which meant that at the end I had to pass the whole knife back through the weave to get the stopper knot into position
Hey! Good video. Easy to understand. My complaint is that when the knot is done, you don't say anything about how to tighten up and finish the know. I finally figured it out by watching other videos. It's hard to know where to start with the tightening. This was my first knot (an maybe a little ambitious for the first), but after a number of times starting all over, I finally got it. Looks good!
Eagle if you used this knot for your first knot, brotha, I salute you. If you finally figured out how to somehow perfect it, ALL other knots will be a walk in the park for you. CONGRATS!
Wow,,, tanx,,, I'm going to do this one... I noticed that after woodcarving so long, my mind sees things differently. I am guessing that being as accomplished as you are, you see knots in your dreams.. And in your case , that's not a bad thing. 😆
My wife told me that i woke her last night talking in my sleep. Apparently I was saying "over then under" in a non definable accent. Just kidding! Thank you for a great tutorial.
Gorm Veggerby hey! I just discovered that you can change the playing speed on RUclips! Hit the three dots in the upper right hand corner to get the menu-go to playback speed. You can go as slow as 1/4 or as fast as 2 1/2! It’s great to be able to watch some of this in slow motion!
Do you coat your mandrill with anything? Some of the Paracord is so slick that the end loops try and pull up into the knot while trying to weave it. Because every loop you create on the ends is crucial. This thing will try and kick my butt if I don't watch what I am doing.
Hey Chris! I don't coat the mandrel, but if the slipping bothers you, you could indeed use something to add some friction (I usually use wax for adding friction on my projects). The issue though is that at the end, the mandrel will be harder to pull out of the knot. You could also set pins into the mandrel to hold your knot in place. Glad to see you doing this project, it is quite rewarding once you get the hang of it! Mark
Could you make another video where after every time the paracord goes to the end of one side you us the hole thing so we know what ours is supposed to look like all around, especially when you say bring it around so it’s easier to understand how it is actually supposed to look like
Goodnight friend. I also like to do knots, I am a sailor and I always look for new jobs with ropes. I wonder if you have more videos or books with rope works. I'm waiting, SG Fabricio
Hello, thank you a lot of your tutorial and show us how to do it, my English is not better, and I want know how to remember all process of passing g the paracord I tried to understand how to do it without following your tutorial do you have a tchnik for remeber it ?? how remeber when it s over and under of tow ? and in first atarting it under and over one, thank you
Do you think it would be possible to put something "inside" this knot. Like a ball bearing or compartment? If you pulled the stopper knot out through the top to make more space, instead of leaving it inside the knot, would that change anything other than the aesthetic? I've seen a lot of the Globe, Monkey, and Celtic Slammer. (I really like the Slammer.) But, I've been looking for something a little different. I'm wondering if this could be modified into a reasonable alternative? Thoughts? Thank you for all the wonderful videos.
Hey Mark, I have a question for you. In a project in doing I want to finish it by adding a Spanish ring knot at its top. The problem is the base knot I'm interweaving is a 6 bight 3 length (I think that's what it's called, I know it has 6 bights but it has your basic three strand braid pattern in its body), and it has 6 strands going into it. In short what I'm asking is, do you know of a way to make a 6 strand Spanish ring knot, the base Turks head having 6 bights?
if I just wanted to Buy a Fab Exactly Like This One from You, How Much do You Charge?.. I Love the Design & You Did it Both Beautifully & Effortlessly! Nice Video!. Have a Great Day & May God Bless You!.
Hey! A proper way would be to do it would be to tie a third pass on the herringbone knot with the smaller strand. I just followed the standing end and came out with the working end though. Did it on the mandrel to make it much easier. I hope that helps! If not, let me know! Mark
You can stiffen the working end by giving it a quick blast with the lighter and pulling it to a point, then repeating until the cord kind of becomes its own needle, but really, it's a lot easier to just buy a lacing needle. They're not expensive.
I used to shove a toothpick from about 3 inches from the end through the cord then push the sharp point through the burnt end and cut it off. Then readjust your burned end. Get it kinda soft then spin it into a sharp cone, cutting off that point too. It works....lol
Wonderful video, right up to the point where you say ... "then we are going to tighten our knot around it" ... wha? ... so how is that done? That is missing and just like most vids doing monkey's fists they leave out the critical tightening part.
This is an amazing video and explanation, but it's useless if you don't show how to tighten up the knot! Why wouldn't you show the whole thing? This keeps happening in many videos. Thanks tho

I'm doing it again and know the feeling!😂😊❤ After have done it years ago!
It easy if you say.."Let's make a diamond knot first."..i luv to follow some of your tutorial..😎👍👍👍
Another great tutorial, took me 3 attempts though, thank heavens for slow play and pause, can't believe the knot is so tiny - thank you ;-)
accidently made a carpet at the 7th over two and under under over two loop. I have to start again. Nice video... thanks.
Mind blown! So complex ... got to try it! Thanks for sharing.
I like the "...and finally" ... and there is loops again and again :D
Thanks for the tutorial!

Hehe, thank you for the comment!
In fact I sleep very soundly. The knots are quite relaxing :).

Ekaterina Berezkina how did you start?
Love you to bits, Marko! Grabbing some cord now! : )
Looks like a pineapple very cool
Indeed! Could be made into a pineapple. I made it into an acorn in the past.
Espectacular tutorial, lo he logrado.
Más extraordinario sería si tuvieras una traducción al español.
Si yo opino lo mismo que lo traduscan en español xfa.
Excelente me encantó!🤨🙃
Great vid wish you would show the tightening portion also though
Just tighten it.
@@Bartooc A leader can tell you what to do, but a true leader shows you how its done! :P
Challenging you, to be a better leader sir!
Sorry, but that's a very cool Pineapple Knot.
Thank you for the video! Just finished one from microcord. Looks awesome to me.
How many Parts and Bights does this knot have?
Thank you very much for the tutorial.
A cordial greeting
Another great job Marko!
Bellissimo! tremendamente articolato da realizzare cavolo!
you do amazing tutorials mark thanks for sharing
I am going to give it a shot. I really like the look of it. Though it seems a little complicated. Thanks for sharing
Very clear, lovely explanations, until you're nearly done... And then you tighten the knot around the core...
How do you tighten this knot?
Very good tutorial, very very good. Some times it Goes a little fast. But Hey Thats what The rewind Button is for 😉

awsome👌👍❤
Very nice
Nicely done!
Great job mate!
how you did finish it up
Gracias por enseñarme es un agrado ver sus videos.
Спасибо большое! Благодаря вам, я решил, что мне это плетение и нахрен не упало 😂
How!!!!? I *uking couldn't it! I did everything by your video.
I like it.....
And good tutorials....👏👏👏👏👍👍👍👍
I wish you would show how to tighten this knot that to me is the hardest part !
I can add that making 2 or 3 passes helps the best. Tighten a little each pass and that way you will keep the know uniform.
Very good! Excelent
Time to try that
Could you make another video where after every time the paracord goes to the end of one side you us the hole thing so we know what ours is supposed to look like all around, especially when you say bring it around so it’s easier to understand how it is actually supposed to look like
amazing!! your accent sounds like india

I like it! It'll be my next knot

Súper. Gracias por enseñar.
Do we really need the lacing needle and mandrel?
Hey!
Absolutely not....the only absolutely needed supply is the cord.
Mark
Ah ok, I'll get right to this craft then. Thank you!

Thank you Marlo!
That’s very cool, wish I could do that, most days I have trouble with my shoe laces!
LOL!
Fantastic
another winner!
you are awesome thanks. where did you get your flat lacing needle? thanks for the vids.
Did you shorten up that video???
I’m not very experienced at this and I don’t understand where I’m supposed to start. Near one end? In the middle?
That's neat
Can you please post the list of movements for the pineapple knot as well as how to add a second color?
Hi what size did you used mate? Thnks
Do you think this knot could be used to make begleri?
jezarius that would be cool!
Whats the color? TAN maybe?
so cool, thanks :D

So it is a multi strand Spanish ring knot?
If so, It can be done like this:

what size cord do you use?
Mark, how did you do the blue accent? I've been trying to figure it out for about two hours now!
Hey!

That thing is so tight, i wanna do that but i don't have a needle anyone kno what i can substitute, besides pliers???

Mine had a weird deformation at the standing / working end. But it still looks good
There's gotta be a sponge living in there..
Man I am lost in space!
This is nails. I had a go and didn't succeed, but I've not admitted defeat, just need to try again when I have the time
Nice pineapple
Can someone make one yellow and green top. A pineapple 🍍 version!
спасибо! у меня получилось! я без опыта☺
Would have helped if you had something on the loop, struggling to keep track of what's what
A good tutorial but thank goodness for a pause button on youtube
This is sick .... couldn't do it
Something is missing...how do you set the cord in the needle, does not look like the usual needle, not everyone is expert in knots material
Still aching to know about your fid. If you made it, you could do a tutorial. Tee hee! Brass? ... If you bought it, WHERE???? : )
On his website it tells how 2 make one
+Ch K Thanks. I'm pretty sure that's his old short, stubby one. The new one is sleeker. Thanks, though!
I got 2 at Joanns
Definitely not easy, but once you get the hang of it its actually quite simple
Exactly!
It is very easy
This just looks like a pineapple to me😝
9:50 den birden yapılmısına gecti nasıl sıkılastı
yea great vid but i need to know how to tighten it
thx
Muito bom!
This is an amazing video and explanation, but it's useless if you don't show how to tighten up the knot! Why wouldn't you show the whole thing? This keeps happening in many videos.
Thanks tho
Just keep pulling the opposite direction of the end, it's pretty self explanatory
you gotta make it more simple brother!!
Well, well, well, I don't what the deal was, but I'm 3 for 3. I think it was the cord following. Thanks
