There use to be a car dealer near my House when I was a Kid. Me and my Brother would always go over and watch the Trucks unload. Watching this made me a little nostalgic.
Glad it triggered nostalgia. My brother and I watched all sorts of trucks at work when kids, too. Car carriers. Dump trucks. Paving. Excavators. The street we lived on was gravel, Twice each summer a grader and dump trucks maintained the road. Always a fun afternoon watching. Great entertainment watching car carriers unload. Never lost the interest watching trucks. Five decades later I’m still watching, capturing events on video - the main reason I started this channel. Share cool trucks at work. Thank you for watching. Greatly appreciate your viewership.😎👍
I started hauling cars a few months ago. I noticed your setup was different, so I watched, and the process is noticeable different. Yours looks more difficult.
I wouldn't doubt it's different. I'm only a videographer but I have spoken with drivers... ...they admit there are so many different setups, not to mention axle and weight regulations between provinces and even states. Uniformity would make trucking so much easier across-the-board. Thanks for watching.
I'm waiting patiently for my Jeep to be delivered off a rail car to a car carrier and taken to the dealership. I have a much bigger respect now after seeing this. How dangerous and amazing all at the same time. Thanks for this video. :) Great job.
Each vehicle offloaded had to be driven to a side lot, taking 2 min per, so I edited out the 2 min wait. Hence the jump in clouds. Thanks for watching!
It definitely is an art form. You must be in good physical shape. A problem solver. You need a strong mental mindset and have the agility of a gymnast. Thanks for watching the video!
05:02 queue the dopey car porter who's making $14 an hour who wants to chit chat while you're trying to unload $300,000 worth of product without making a mistake.
The dealer should have a elevated hydraulic platform, similar to the truck that moved up and down automatically to showcase a vehicle to passing traffic.

Hi Bryant, I wish I had the answer to your question. I only film the trucks. With much hope perhaps there's a auto transport driver reading these comments that will have the answer to your question.
Well, it depends, if you are a newbie in car hauling , it will take time and a lots of headache in how to load the truck, it's tricky, I've been doing this job for years, I did everything over the road and I thought it couldn't be harder than flat bed or step deck, well I was WRONG, , car hauling is hard and exhausting, involved many man hours, full load are OK but they don't pay much, door to door pays good but it takes time, once you master car hauling it's OK, more money than any trucking business, now dealing with cars means scratches, dents, inoperable, burn, and dealing with clients and broker calling non stop, , I've never worked for anybody before in car hauling, I've began small with a dually and a wedge, after going broke , I've decided to step up to a big rig over the road, now I'm on the money, it depends how serious and hard working guy you are, good luck
@@9carcottrell246 this is a CX-6 or CX-7. You’re thinking of a CX-9 quick loader. You can’t short-stack the top of the trailer on a quick loader. If it was a quick loader, the video would only be about 20 minutes max.

Wish I could tell you. I only filmed the unload. Sorry, I'm not too versed on car carriers. If I find out the type, I'll post the answer. Thanks for watching. Much appreciated.
I always wondered, do these come straight from the factory or are they delivered to some yard and then out to dealers in the area? Because I know the Dodge Journey is made in Mexico so I'm guessing they just all meet in one place?
Sam, these very vehicles came from a large yard in Vancouver, British Columbia. The vehicles arrive at Vancouver by ship from Mexico, or trains from auto plants located throughout Canada/USA, either one depending which Dodge/Chrysler vehicle is on the truck. From the Vancouver yard the vehicles are then trucked hundreds of miles/kilometers throughout British Columbia and Alberta! Trucking directly from the factory might be feasible to closer dealerships. But for those dealerships thousands of miles away on the West Coast like the dealership in my video, it's probably not feasible to truck directly from the factory. However, perhaps a specialty order that needs to be delivered ASAP. I'm only guessing. Thanks for watching!
The biggest unsafe thing he's doing is not using the safety pins to hold up the decks,it doesn't happen but if he has a hydraulic leak ether in the lines or the tank without using those pins the deck will fall on the unlucky soul who's under it or one side of the top deck will fall sideways faster than the other side damaging the car below or human (which ever comes first) drivers are too lazy to take the extra moments to insure all of the top decks are pinned before working under them.
Actually, throughout the video he uses them. You can even see him disable them before he lowers them back down. At OP, If there was a hydraulic leak, then it would slowly leak out. It wouldn't immediately just slam down onto whatever is underneath it. It would gently fall and come to a rest on top of the car below.
Carl, what are you talking about dude? The kid in this video is very clearly seen disengaging all the safety pins that were already in place -apparently before he even hauled off this load or else why would he be seen taking the pins out in order to lower the decks in the first place?!

I respect your question and clearly see your viewpoint. The lone purpose of uploading this video was solely to show the procedure of unloading a loaded car hauler. It's simple as that. Many have never seen nor can imagine -- curious kids -- how the automobiles are off-loaded. Unfortunately the camera I use has no zoom. Closeup footage would definetlyely improve the video(s). I apologize if this video wasted your time. The intent of my videos are to entertain and not disappoint the viewer. I'm as amature as a RUclipsr can be. shut off your engine; there is no reason to waste fuel and idle time unloading. Not to mention, its' hard on the emissions system as your truck has (like after treatment for your Diesel Particulate Filter) diesel emissions systems and idle is the number one killer of motors now due to the EPA particulate systems installed.
He’s a car hauler buddy, we keep the engine running loading and unloading. The PTO will not operate with the engine off. It moves the trailer decks around with the hydraulic fluid.
