Back when I worked in Damchara, I would see this train with futuristic looking coaches through the remote village, constantly honking and the sound would shake & echo through the valley.

If you would work in Haflong the train would stop there and Haflong is a great town

@@bbd1603 I have been to Haflong twice, visited Jatinga bird watch, the lake, walked through the old alignment, visited the abandoned Lower Haflong station and more.
The New Haflong station while much larger than the old one is much more claustrophobic, locked by hills in 3 directions.
But Lower Haflong... The british truly chose a marvellous place to construct a station. The view is just great.
One thing I detest about the new alignment is we don't even get to see some of the most wonderful villages in Dima Hasao. The whole track skips the localities starting from Haflong upto Ditokchhera.
