I'm so sorry about your grandma's passing. But I bet she was happy that you were out there planting in her honor. Don't worry about those purple ones. They're hearty. 💜
Everyone should keep an eye out for a candy corn plant! I got one last year and its a vine plant with yellow/orange flowers that look just like candy corn! Super cute and perfect for ghouls! 🧡 I’m sorry to hear about your Grandma and I hope she rests easy 🖤
Your mom talking about the flower colors reminded me of your tree song last fall. Something like “Red yellow orange! All the trees are turning red yellow orange!” 🌳Happy belated Mother’s Day to Mom the Virgo! 🪴
😂😂😂 OMG I didn't even think of that! I should have sang that to her!! 😂😂😂 I will say I was SHOCKED she didn't go straight for the purple at first - it's her favorite color of all time!!
Taurus here, I am plant obsessed, so much I plant peoples pots professionally and am also a professional floral designer. The purple plant you planted with the orange begonia is called Setcreasea, or also called "Purple Heart". It's one of my favorites! 💜🧡💜
The purple one is a Tradescantia pallida var. purpurea aka The purple heart wandering jew. They prefer full sun so if they go more green, they're not getting enough sun to maintain that beautiful purple color. They're pretty tolerant to neglect. They also tend to spread quickly but you can always prune them back. They will also trail down your planter.
Aww Jade, I'm so sorry to hear about the passing of your Grandma. You put on a brave face for the sake of the vlog, but I'm sure you're in a lot of pain. Sending love and condolences to you and your family. 🖤
My husband and I just bought our 1st home. Yesterday we planted azaleas in the front flower beds. While at the garden store I bought myself a Persian Shield plant too which has deep purple and dark green (nearly black) leaves. It's stunning! I think you'd love it. It's on our coffee table now 😀
I’m a Virgo that loves plants. And I just bought the prettiest black flowers they’re called starlet velvet petunias. And they look like black velvet. Super easy to care for as well. They’re in a hanging basket on my porch.
Oh those are so COOL! Have you seen the Stary Night and Stary Sky Burgandy petunias?! Gorg. The burgandy ones remind me of a poisonous plant, they would be so cool in a spooky garden!
The purple plant is a Purple Heart or Purple Queen, they love hot full sun to keep their dark purple color, but will turn more green with less sun. I have one as a houseplant, they're so cute when they start growing :) !
Capricorn here! I've always loved plants. Me and my boyfriend planted a bunch of stuff this year. We planted a variety of hot peppers, banana peppers, beans, a pineapple, two avocado trees (which i've been growing since last year and finally planted them outside), and a bunch of different flowers. Plus all of my indoor plants
Hey Jade, I dont comment very often. But I just wanted to say im so sorry about your grandma. I lost my grandpa "pawpaw" on May 16th to Covid. Ive been so devastated. He was more like my dad. But I just wanted you to know how much I look forward to your videos. I really needed this video this week. And your outlook on how your grandma would want you to be after her passing makes me want to stop feeling sorry for myself and plant something as well in memory of him. Thankyou for being yourself Jade. I look up to you in so many ways and you just dont realize how much happiness you bring people. I can speak for myself when I say that your videos help me so much. Thankyou for being you. Your grandma would be so proud. ❤
You lucky duck earth sign!! Y'all are made for this!! I'm this air sign over here doing air sh*t 😂😂😂 Happy Birthday time btw!!! Hope it was/is a good one!! 🖤🖤🖤
@@tiffytattoo2450 nah you're, I kill half of mine too. and yet I keep planting more. but anything that gets me in my backyard or in garden sections at stores I'm there lol
Love the plants! Sorry to hear about your grandma. Mine also lived to be 95 and I'm so grateful I had so much time with her. She taught me how to crochet and I still do it. Grandmas are the best..:)

You can add some other plants after these get established a bit. If you add something with bright green foliage closer to your door color, the plants will all be secondary colors and pull the colors together. Keep the dirt below the new plants moist to encourage the roots to go down. You're doing great!
I’m so sorry for your loss. I’m glad that you wanted to honor her by gardening. You may want to keep an eye out for Proven Winner’s Wicked Witch coleus. It’s a black and lime green plant. PW plants are always in white pots, which makes them easier to spot in the nursery. Yay for a vlog! Love the plants!
My husband is a Virgo. He has removed four little pine sapling trees up out of the earth and replanted in a different location in our back yard and they are thriving. He seems to naturally know what all kinds of plants need. I have a cactus plant in a small pot and it was starting to shrivel up and asked him if he could get some potting soil for it. He brought me some and now it is getting longer and really perking up. I have it set up on the window seal in my laundry room where the sun beams in. So sorry for the loss of your grandmother. It’s ok to be sad. You feel what you feel and it’s ok whatever it is. My grandmother passed away when I was seven from breast cancer. She was my world. Without her in it was so different. I still have a photo of her and my grandaddy smiling really big right up above my couch on the wall. It’s a little bigger than an 8x10 photo. I always make sure it’s safe and know where it is. Your flowers are beautiful. They look perfect on each side of the door. I think your grandmother would definitely approve. Love you Jade the Libra!!!
The purple spiky one is tradescantia also called purple queen or Purple Heart. It was root bound from growing too big in the pot. You can cut off some of the excess root and it will be fine. They also are perennials naturally but can’t take winter cold. If you put it in a pot and bring it in before the first frost it will continue to grow as a house plant.
So sorry for your loss and may your grandma's memory be a blessing. I have a Pisces daughter who can grow anything and I am a Leo who can grow dirt and that's it which is a shame because I would love to garden, I love plants and flowers
So sorry for your loss. My grandmother could grow anything and I guess I inherited her green thumb, but since I live with the woods all around me and have lots of wildlife visit the front and back yard the deer eat nearly everything within their reach. They don't eat Irises, though, so I have large beds of them and they are so beautiful blooming Spring through Summer and part of Autumn. :) I also have hanging baskets with the large Tuberous Begonias (peachcoral colors) which come back for 5 years or more and are gorgeous. The deer frequently eat most of the leaves off my rose bush but it's hanging in there. Geraniums are also great, and nothing wants to eat them either, so I have clusters of them which bring lots of color right through Autumn. The other eater of plants here is the Banana Slug of the PNW -- they eat anything they can get to on the ground hence my use of hanging baskets.
Sorry to hear of your grandmother's passing. I'm glad you had so much time with her and so many wonderful memories. Love, hugs, thoughts, and prayers. Love the flowers! I planted flowers and mint on my front porch yesterday (first year being a plant lady..... Pretty excited)
Don't worry about the begonia plants, they won't be competing long enough to hurt each other. Next time you got something with a thick taproot like that Purple flowering Tradescantia you can usually just leave it be, you don't need to loosen it cause sometimes you can hurt it from trying, it will right itself. They also make pretty easygoing houseplants if you bring them in at the end of the season.
The purple plant is a ground coverer, so it will grow out more if you put it in a bigger pot or in the ground. So sorry about your grandma passing, but this was a great way to honor her! 🌹
Those purple ones are called Purple Passion or Purple Hearts. My grandmother loved purple and one side of her driveway was lined with them. They come back every year. I have some that were propagated from her plants. They are easy to take care of. I love them.
Love your videos! I’m a new gardener and I’ve been watching garden answer on RUclips for tips and trips. Make sure your plants that are planted together take the same amount of water and sun 😊
My favorite Halloween Ghoul doing a flower haul/planting video? This is a real chocolate meet peanut butter moment for me 💜. And I can't think of a more lovely way to celebrate your grandmother's life. Much love to you 💜.
Virgo here! I LOVE plants and flowers but I have the blackest reaper thumb of all time 🙃. I don’t want to linger on it, but I’m really sorry for your loss and I’m so glad you were able to honor your grandma with your plants 🖤🖤
Haha! There must be an air sign in your chart cuz I swear plants sag when I merely walk by 😂😂 Also thank you so much for your condolences! Honestly, so glad to have this platform to take my mind of things and be able to share the tough stuff with y'all. 🖤🖤🖤
The purple plant you bought is called a Purple Heart and it is super easy to propagate from cuttings. Cut a piece off and place in water and you'll see roots sprout within days! Very easy to give to friends. It is best in containers or beautiful in hanging baskets. Be careful if you ever plant in the ground though because they like to SPREAD. If pruning don't toss pieces into the yard because they'll grow into wherever they land if left there long enough! 💜
Hey Ghoul! Those Purple Queens are what I have. Love em! They're nice and Gothic with purple dainty flowers. I think your Grammy would be pleased. 💜 from Texas
The conversation with your mom was LITERALLY me & my daughter 🤣 I’m so sorry about your grandma ... I’m sure she was so proud of you 🖤 And now you have a beautiful guardian angel 🖤
First of all - I’m so sorry to hear about your grandma. I hope you’re doing alright. Your outlook on it is beautiful though! Also, this is RIGHT UP MY ALLEY. I love your content always. 💕 Thank you for being awesome!
Piscean here, and I love my plants!! Going for a whole indoor jungle vibe as I don't really have an outdoor space. Well, there's a balcony, it's tiny, but I'm sure could do something with the limited space
Hey Ghoul hey!!! Any planter can be an outdoor planter as long as its a durable enough material! Also usually the difference between indoor vs outdoor planters is that indoor ones dont have holes in the bottom and outdoors ones do. This is so that when you water inside it doesn't make a mess in the house but when it rains outside your plants don't flood. If you want an indoor planter to go outside I suggest finding a way to make holes in the bottom. A drill will work for most materials unless its plastic then it might crack. In that case I usually heat up a big nail with a brulee torch and melt the holes in. (please wear gloves) haha xoxo
May your grandmother's memory be eternal, so sorry for your loss. On a happier note, very excited for Halloween in June and my new ho7s spooky tee. (and bibibop is the bessst)
I love your Vlogs ! You picked out the flowering plants with goth type leaves I would have. Yes be a gentle with the bottom of the plants as you replant as to not disturb their growth process. yes always use new planting soil. You even can add extra Jobes organic Spikes Fertilizer food for potted plants . Do not forget to talk to your plants..they will thrive on your love and care ! Good luck I think you did good Ghoul! Your Mom lol she is on a Mission when she shops! Wonderful honoring your Gram by planting Flowers perhaps you can name these after her! Take care XOXO
zz raven plant would be perfect for an indoor houseplant. The purple heart tradescantia and begonia should be fine, could have added that black coleus too. water daily. should be fine
First, I am sorry for your loss. I knew at the start at the video something was off. Sending you love! Second, I love that purple plant! A purple heart. It is a traveling plant, so that explains it being rootbound a bit. May or may not be great with other plants. I have had many plant casualties because of weather and my own ineptitude. My favorite ones at the moment are my Pothos Devils ivy, foxtail fern, and peach tree.
Thank you so much for your condolences 🖤🖤 I really do feel so lucky to have had such a strong, smart and nurturing grandma in my life for as long as I did!
Hey Ghoul hey!!! Love the plants you got!! The orange begonias are so bright, and they look great with the decor. I am wanting a garden this year, but the weather seems to have other plans for us here. I love planting Zuchini, honey dew, pumpkins, tomatotoes, peas, and Moss Roses this year. Thank you so much for sharing with us, and I hope you have a Blessed day!!!

Such a beautiful plant store. The flowers there look gorgeous. I need to do some planting of flowers too. An girl I know the feeling I hate having bees n wrasps flying around too.
Virgo mama here and I love plants, I buy plants, I plant the plants... and I think I overwater them because they almost always die rather quickly. ALTHOUGH, I have bought and repotted an Ivy plant this year and so far I have NOT killed it. I’m quite happy to report. I’m also trying to grow my own Marigolds for a sort of Dia de los Muertos/ofrenda situation this year. We’ll see!
Virgo and very into plants My mom is a Libra LOL Cute how you pronounce roots ☺ BTW when planting you want to disturb the roots (root ball) as little as possible. I have no idea what the purple plant is that you planted but it's really good to check how a plant grows to mix companions plants together. Begonias are lovely! And can actually overwinter if you take it inside. It will seem dead but then come back to life !
So sorry about your grandma, but I'm glad you had such a loving outlook on it and were able to garden in her memory! Sending love to you and your family!
Purple-heart plant (Tradescantia pallida) is the name of your purple plant Jade. I am a fellow Libra and freaking love plants and no Virgo in my birth chart. I feel like bonsai is a very Virgo activity. I planted quite a bit of plants yesterday and go sunburned in the process but the Moon sign was right for planting. You should take a look at starry night petunias, that was my "it's so pretty" buy this year. So sorry to hear about you grandma girl she sounds like an awesome lady.
Well, cheers to grandma, and plant another 🌻🌻🌻. 💜 My friend is a Virgo and she is a Master Naturalist and owns a landscaping company, so I feel like your feeling is correct.
I am sorry to hear your grandma passed! It sounds like she had an amazingly long life! Those plants are beautiful! We planted tomatoes, two different kinds of sunflowers and forget me knots. Can't wait for the to bloom!
I planted black petunias and a candy corn vine! I also found "pumpkin on a stick" so we'll see how that goes! Joanne's had large outdoor skull planters last year and in 2019. I have a black and a grey one as well as a cauldron planter!
Loved the vlog Jade, we need more of these. I don’t have much of a green thumb but begonia’s are my favourite! Easy to grow and beautiful colours. Sorry to hear about your Grandma. Mine is 92 so I can relate.
Plant/planter talk from a former nursery employee/plant lover: Sounds like you prepped the soil well for the potted plants with amending the older soil with new potted plant soil and coco fiber! And it's okay that the Tradescantia pallida (aka purple succulent/aloe looking plant with flowers) has woodier roots. Just part of the plant's maturity and that particular plant actually likes feeling cramped, so planters like your's or letting those roots stay a bit tight during repotting should be okay (although YES always score/tossle up the dirt and roots at the bottom of a new nursery plant before repotting). I'd keep an eye on it once it becomes 6 months and just sorta evaluate the health of both then. ALSO, planter wise, I imagine you'd like a urn style and personally I like to use overstock sites or just buy from a nice (maybe overpriced tbh) site for quality and/or Etsy for artisan pieces since to me planters are an investment. OH or local small nurseries or planter/foundation places because there's always one of those along the road it seems. Hope that helps and happy planting!
I just got a new rental house that has a gardening area and a barren front yard. I am working on planting and gardening. Historically, I kill plants so a bit nervous. However, going for some irises and some other things to be determined. I am thinking a lot of purple.
I just went flower shopping yesterday!!! I scouted out all of the black and burgundy flowers I could find! Black mamba petunias are the best!!! They look like black velvet 🖤
Hibiscus lemonade is sooo good! Starbucks has Passion Tea Lemonade if you ever need a fix outside of Bibibop. I love your flower choices. I have one of the purple aloe looking guys and it comes back every year. Also, so sorry for your loss. ❤️
The worm things are over-grown roots. The plant has been in the pot so long, that the roots have gotten so long, they have to coil around the soil ball.

The long leaf purple plant is an indoor plant called a Wandering Jew.
the greenhouse i work at sells black petunias! i have never seen a black flower before these, i always think of you when i see them 😄
I absolutely love Begonias ❤️❤️❤️they’re wicked looking plants!
Oh sorry I hadn’t watched I see comments about a loss in the family. So sorry for your loss wishing you healing and lots of love 💕
I’m sorry for your Loss Jude 💜 I’m glad you Celebrated her life in such a beautiful way of planting flowers 🌺
Really sorry for your loss much love and thoughts go out to you ❤️❤️
So sorry for your loss. 🧡🧡🧡
Bless your sweet heart! Your Grandma must have been so special and you are so blessed to have had her for so long! Love your flowers.
My Siamese baby rat jumps on the tv console when he hears you come on TV 🤷🏼♀️ We LOVE YOUR CHANNEL and have decorated with you playing in the background for inspo!
We’ll see!
Virgo and very into plants
My mom is a Libra LOL
Cute how you pronounce roots ☺
BTW when planting you want to disturb the roots (root ball) as little as possible.
Sorry for the loss of your Grandma. Try to remember the good times. Nancy
Peace and positive vibes
Sorry for your loss
Purple-heart plant (Tradescantia pallida) is the name of your purple plant Jade. I am a fellow Libra and freaking love plants and no Virgo in my birth chart. I feel like bonsai is a very Virgo activity. I planted quite a bit of plants yesterday and go sunburned in the process but the Moon sign was right for planting. You should take a look at starry night petunias, that was my "it's so pretty" buy this year. So sorry to hear about you grandma girl she sounds like an awesome lady.
The purple one with the thick roots is really hearty! You did just fine! 😊
Virgo and a Garden Witch here. Worked at my family's garden center for 15 years.
Get yourself some Queen of the Night tulips. Theyre so dark purple they're almost black. I grow them aNd they're amazing.
I planted black petunias and a candy corn vine! I also found "pumpkin on a stick" so we'll see how that goes! Joanne's had large outdoor skull planters last year and in 2019. I have a black and a grey one as well as a cauldron planter!
The new camera is great. I love the wide view.
Loved the vlog Jade, we need more of these. I don’t have much of a green thumb but begonia’s are my favourite! Easy to grow and beautiful colours.
Sorry to hear about your Grandma. Mine is 92 so I can relate.
So sorry for your loss jade 🖤 I enjoyed this video!
I work in a greenhouse..those are orange Begonias. They should work well with morning sun. Sorry for your loss Jade.
!!!!!! I saw someone on tik tok use jack o lantern pails as planters and it was so cute! They just drilled holes in the bottom for drainage 🎃
Sorry for your loss.
Plant/planter talk from a former nursery employee/plant lover:
Sounds like you prepped the soil well for the potted plants with amending the older soil with new potted plant soil and coco fiber!
I'm gonna do an all black garden this year, with black petunias. I'll have a few planters with stripy marigolds they keep mosquitos away.
some big black cauldron planters would go so well..🖤🖤
I just got a new rental house that has a gardening area and a barren front yard.
🙏🏻 sending love your way ❤️ beautiful flowers 💐
I haven't seen any pots. Then again I got a peace lily that's still going good
Hibiscus lemonade is sooo good! Starbucks has Passion Tea Lemonade if you ever need a fix outside of Bibibop. I love your flower choices. I have one of the purple aloe looking guys and it comes back every year. Also, so sorry for your loss. ❤️
I have beans, roses basil and succulents.
The worm things are over-grown roots. The plant has been in the pot so long, that the roots have gotten so long, they have to coil around the soil ball.
So sorry to hear about the loss of your grandmother. Reflect on the memories made and time spent together. 🖤💜🧡 My Mom is a Virgo and she was all about the decorations and plants. Loving the plants you chose.
PS. Cannot wait for Halloween Decor shopping!!
