I have been trying for over a week to find out what was wrong with my iPad Pro12.9" with a Brydge keyboard. Emails and Text Messages would close over and over on me as soon as I would start typing. There were several other quirks as well. I could find no help online until I tried again and found this video. I used a soft cloth and isopropyl alcohol to clean as recommended. I didn't even realize there were those contact points. I think it worked per this video. I was just about to schedule a trip to Best Buy for help and to purchase a $350 Apple Magic Keyboard. Thank You So Much!!!
Repetitive clicking worked for me for a long time when I had that kind of keyboard. I really like the low key profile on that keyboard, but switched to a folio style for better protection and performance.
I literally just mashed the buttons on my keyboard then it eventually connected… so whats up with that? What button did i push?? Slam slam, Irish mechanics
Thank you so much!!!!! Sometimes scrolling glitches with my keyboard. I tried everything, and always restarting takes a lot of time. Assistive touch fixed it! Thank you 😊
One additional tool to try: My Magic Keyboard goes into “Device Not Supported” mode whenever the key bed reaches a critical mass of dust and debris under the keys. I turn the keyboard upside down and shake / tap for a few seconds, then I run a vacuum over the keys. Then I repeat these two steps until no debris is falling out from the upside down keys, unusually two or three repetitions. Then, as if by magic, the keyboard will work again for the next 6 months or so. 😂
Thanks mate. Keyboard seemingly didn't survive the kids and was unresponsive. Was just about to give up on it when a search turned up your vid. Sprayed the back of the Air and the keyboard contacts with screen cleaner (all I had handy) and gave it all a rub with a clean tissue. Keyboard is back baby! :D Good thing too, as they aren't cheap.
Still didn’t work for me, though I noticed a little dot on one of the ipads hole where it connects to the magic keyboard, I tried wiping it but can’t take it out. Can someone suggest or recommend a way to fix this? (I just bought the magic keyboard 3 months ago and this thing ain’t cheap 😭 does it need to be repaired??)
On the off chance you have the keyboard laying around still (cuz this response is 2 months after your comment). If you have nothing to lose (so no Apple Care on iPad, as that covers the Magic Keyboard for free), then I would research how to remove a key cap from the Magic Keyboard, and then you would clean under the keycap for every key. But when I did this in the past, I broke one of the keyboards my Mac, so I'd only do as a last resort.
weathered some storms with my old girl, wouldn’t call it garbage for old time’s sake lol thank you, author of this video; “slam it hard” worked like a charm
Cleaning the connector with a little bit of water fixed my magic keyboard issue for me! Thanks a ton!!
Thanks

What a man - I’d lost all hope after several attempts and having swapped another keyboard before that wasn’t working. Kudos my friend. Thank you!
I SEARCHED THRU MANY VIDEOS FOR A LONG TIME TILL I FOUND YOURS. YOURS IS THE ONLY ONE WITH THE SOLUTION TO MY PROBLEM. THANK YOU 100 TIMES.
Brilliant. Even apple store couldn’t fix it. Great video, worked straight away but watched the whole thing anyway
They probably just wanted you to buy a new one >_>
Repetitive Slamming isn’t working for me. 😢

The iPad restart + off/on Bluetooth made the Type+ keyboard work again. Technically, the Roy/Moss solution. Thank you.

Thank you so much, this is the only video that worked for me. YOU ARE THE GOAT.
My keyboard was listed two times. So I switch to the other instance of my keyboard in the settings and it began working after that.
