Everything looked really good too, I'm glad you didn't do too much research into what goes into faggots as they're mainly offal, usually heart and liver, that's why even though they're quite soft and light in texture they're also quite rich, in North Wales a very similar dish to Cawl is also very popular called Lobscouse which is thought to have originated in the Baltics and is known in the UK for being very popular in Liverpool, interestingly a local café to me has a Hungarian chef who makes what she calls a very authentic Goulash, and it's basically Lobscouse with paprika added, I guess stews are stews and every country has it's own basic and nutritious stew.
Rhubarb!!! MMMMM! Back in the day we grew it in our garden....Shared with the neighbours, My Dad made Crumble...but us kids...Big "Stalk" of Rhubarb, and sugar in a bag, Dip, Heaven......xxx guys x
Cawl is made with Lamb literally ate it at least 3 times a week growing up your giving me ideas for this winter though winter in the Sahara isnt quite winter back home in Cymru
Awesome video guys!... thanks for coming to wales!.. just to let you guys know. Cwrw is welsh for beer... and Y mochyn du translates to “The black pig”. Du is pronounced “Dee” and Welsh rarebit or “eggy bread” is literally a piece of bread that has been soaked in raw scrambled eggs then shallow fried in a pan.
Welsh rarebit isn't an eggy bread, it's toast with a topping of cheese, beer, mustard and egg yolk mixed in to a topping and then grilled on the toast.
You guys are one of the best when it comes to food travel and everything, and I am really amazed you don't have a following more than 1 m which you should
Mmm - rhubarb pie! I enjoy how passionate you two are about each bite. I can taste it all through you. :D Wales is on my list. I caught a glimpse across the Bristol Channel from north Devon! :D
Hey you guys are amazing, btw who among you writes all that description it is really a work which I got a check by chance and its really really great work.
Thank you! I (Sam) do most of the filing, typing out of scripts and the video descriptions and seo. Audrey does more hosting and now the video editing and music selection. We split up the tasks quite evenly.
This is the kind of food I grew up on, not in Wales but Lancaster about 150 miles away. We would come home to a big black pot of mutton stew on the range. This is not exactly cawl but so close. The Black Pig seems like excellent value. Welsh cheese is fantastic and the lamb is the best. A tip...Welsh is phonetic, once you learn the alphabet you can say the words. Grammar however is something else. Cymru am Byth!
Yay soooo happy you did this vid welsh food whoop I’m from living in wales free valleys in my village they do a boar faggot tastes sooo good really meaty compared to the lamb ones lol xxx
Samuel and Audrey - Travel and Food Videos when sounds not great a day 4 months or soo there is a boar farm near by I try not to think about lol but really nice lol. Wow thanks sooo much for the reply xx
Didn't try those,, DID enjoy the Clark pies or "Clarpie" and quite a bit of Brains Beer 👍. We are from Texas and were intrigued on the people who spoke welsh. Don't think they get a lot of Texans visiting. One little girl was like: "that lady talks funny" 😂😂
Ah, cool to hear about your experience! Oh, the Texan accent is so cool...haha Yeah, especially in this pub we noticed quite a few people speaking Welsh. Such a fascinating language.
Thanks! Yeah, it was decent especially considering how much we ate...haha We really enjoyed that pub as it has a nice chilled out atmosphere and really friendly staff.
you guys always do such an awesome job on your videos, i love following you guys and am always excited for the next video, let us know what you think of ours, we would love the feedback :-)
@@solatiumz it was invented by a chemist by the name of bird and live in the uplands in Swansea his wife was lactose intolerance so he invented custard for his wife and it's called birds custard

Sorry to hear you haven't been feeling well. I could tell your energy level was a bit lower in this video. Hopefully that stew will get you feeling better.
Samuel and Audrey - Travel and Food Videos you’re welcome! please come back to Wales again soon - I’ll have a list of awesome other foods you could also try!
@@phillipcarlroberts4640 @Phillip Carl Roberts nah, I can see where you're going with it, but in North Wales they don't pronounce the W as harshly. It sounds more a cross between U and W in North Wales, I'm a fluent Welsh speaker and am aware of the differences in accents :)
Omg you guys talk so much about being stuffed in every video while actually hardly eating at all! Get stuffed for god's sake! Take huge bites. Be wild! The food is heaven so enjoy it in full! You are trying to look good on camera so much that it hurts to watch...like you're embarassed to look natural.
Horrible, just horrible, no wonder the Welsh have always appeared more than a little slapstick while three-feet off the ground....this confirms my longstanding suspicion....it's the food I tell you it's the food. My God!!!

i really enjoy the "laughs" of audrey when the camera shows sam to enjoy his meal. that means that she loves you a lot sam..and that is lovely...
Ah, thank you! I sure am a lucky guy I'd say :)

Thanks Paul! Ah, we love strawberry rhubarb pie. We often have that in Canada.
Cwrw means beer in Welsh
Ah, that makes sense! Thanks for letting us know :)
There is a large Welsh colony in the Argentinean Patagonia...
Wow! That is fascinating. Just reading about it on wikipedia now.
Also lots of people of Welsh extraction in Pennsylvania.
Love your videos. You're more authentic than the other travel vloggers.
Thank you very much!
Oh oh oh! That whole meal looked sooooo good. I love lamb and also welsh rarebit and anything rhubarb!!! I've had rhubarb several times in London.

That feeling when you find out New South Wales doesn’t have Central Bar or Live Lounge 😂

Oooh Sh*t Rhubarb ROCKS! As an ancestral Welshman it warms my heart!
Very good tips.. so Audrey is from Argentina... Sam have like a California accent. I love rhubarb... My family does a recipe call gateau of rhubarb.
Thank you! She's actually from Canada as well but spent a few years in Argentina growing up. Ah, that sounds really tasty! What is in it exactly?
Really enjoyed watching this.

@Helen Stratigos That was rhubarb crumble not a rhubarb pie - a pie would have a more solid, smooth finish rather than being...crumbly!
It's nice to be able to taste a variety of food!
Thanks! Totally agree with you :)
Audrey's face at 7:19 LOL ! priceless :)
Hahaha
Sam with his dainty little bites lol and Audrey with her big manly bite.
LOL, normally it is the other way around ;)
LOOKS DELICIOUS.

Best video ever .
I would asked for a cheese grater and grated it directly into the stew
I like the way you're thinking Dave :)
Dave Warren cheese on stew? Yuk !!
Yummy. Going to Wales this spring.

Welsh food is so Delicious
Couldn't agree with you more Jonas! It totally is!
Strange that you didn't dip the buttered bread in the stew.
Looked delicious tho.
Oh and more custard on your crumble is a must.
Did ya'll try the Welsh laverbread whilst you were there?
Oh, we didn't! Our bad but we did try the Welsh Cakes.
Samuel and Audrey - Travel and Food Videos that's good enough 😉
Welsh Rarebit is more of a cheese sauce, with mustard, beer or milk amongst other things

Will you guys visit Tenby beach? Amazing place in south wales.
Unfortunately, we didn't get there. It looks beautiful though.
not really in South Wales
\
Tenby is in west wales 🤣
Good value for £13. Normally the price you pay for 1 medium pizza.
Thanks! Yeah, it was decent especially considering how much we ate...haha We really enjoyed that pub as it has a nice chilled out atmosphere and really friendly staff.
when they come to argentina I invite you to eat asado
Thank you! That is very kind. Where is your favorite place for asado?
You guys are funny
Thanks!
Rarebit is close to Croque Monsieur with its béchamel and dijon.
Did you ever tryed salmiakki?
Yeah, I love it! We made a video about that a few years ago :)
You guys are too cute (:
Ah, thank you!

Actually Alfred Bird was born in Gloucestershire and lived in Birmingham when he invented the custard. Both a fair few miles from Swansea. Nice try.
Dip your bread in your Cawl!
Thanks for the tip!
Crumble and melt the block of cheese into the Cawl 👌
Have you ever tried sth that you didn't like?? :P It seems like you like everything you try on your trips!
Oh we definitely have but lately we've been eating things we really like.
That’s an appetiser? Where’s this pub? 😋
Big portions for an appetiser! It is heading north from the castle.
Just off Cathedral Road towards the Cricket Stadium/Park alongside the Taff river
R.I.P. Y Mochyn Du ❤
Yummy! Yummy main dishes!!! I don´t like desserts and sweets!!!
Thanks! We enjoyed the savoury dishes.
Sorry to hear you haven't been feeling well. I could tell your energy level was a bit lower in this video. Hopefully that stew will get you feeling better.
Ah, thank you! We did end up feeling better after Wales but we were down for the count for a little while ;)
Your supost to dip the cheese in the cawl
Thanks for the tip.
It’s ok xxx
cwrw means beer
Hello
How are you ?
Cwrw means beer and Y mochyn du means «the black pig»
Thanks for letting us know!
Samuel and Audrey - Travel and Food Videos You’re most certainly welcome, how long would the flight be from Montreal to Cardiff?
Then you went for a nap in the car!
Hahaha...if only we owned one ;)
Am I the only one that eats Rarebit with a knife and fork? Where is the Bara Brith, cockels and laverbread?
My grandfather great grand father spoke it as a kid hard to understand ask grams what did gramma say lol..
the Du part of Mochyn Du is pronounced ‘dee’ :)
Thank you for letting us know!
Samuel and Audrey - Travel and Food Videos you’re welcome! please come back to Wales again soon - I’ll have a list of awesome other foods you could also try!

How many clues do you need! Americans live in their own little bubble.
sorry but i think that you should be very hungry to eat this food
What do you think would be better to try?
i dont know. i will travel in christmas there and gonna search. (i didn't want to insult you with my comment sorry if it sounds like that)
What’s gourmet about toast ? It’s cheese on toast with worstershire sauce
No, it’s rarebit

Have you watched our Cardiff guide?
I can't say I have. I live 7 miles from Cardiff so usually watch films from further afield.
welsh is a very complicated language...yeah, and a very ugly one as well
We had fun in Wales. Wish we weren't sick as we could have explored more.
I disagree, it is a beautiful language. Have you ever heard it sung?
